As a heads up to those who are prepping this for Gencon (and in the future), I have separated all the stat blocks by subtier and encounter. In addition, I made my spell cheat sheets for casters, and included the text of some obscure abilities.

You can find it all, as usual, on pfsprep.com

Silver Crusade 5/5

Those are some awesome statblocks, thank you! That will make prepping a whole lot easier.

Thanks a lot, james, I will have to take a look once I am home!

Lady Arodeth p49:

The spell list for the level 9 version includes a spell called Corrosive Shock supposedly from UM. I checked and neither the book nor the PFSRD have that spell listed. Anyone ever heard of it? I assume its a typo and probably supposed to be Corrosive Touch

Whoops, good catch. You're right--corrosive shock doesn't exist, and she is supposed to have corrosive touch.

So, I am reading through this, and I am noticing that though encounters are detailed on which map they are on, they are not specific as where... So I assume we can put them where it makes sense to us?

This just seemed a little odd to me.

Silver Crusade 5/5

I noticed that as well, I figured we were at liberty to place the encounters on the map where they will work best. Especially in the high tiers, where space very quickly becomes an issue for certain encounters.

on the idealized simulacrum, it nos in her tactics she casts stoneskin, and even has the material component for it. However,my he spell is missing from her spells known list.

I assume we ignore this and just have her cast it, but it seems a bit of an oversight

Good catch. I recommend swapping out one of her 4th-level prepared spells for stoneskin, probably dimension door.

I have a question: Page 29 indicates that Kreighton Shane joins the party. Precisely when and until what event does he join them? I want to make sure I have it right since one of the secondary conditions depends on keeping him alive.

My best guess is that he joins after the box text on p28 and stays until the encounter in the vault itself with the box text on p36??

I am partially confused since they encounter Shane in the vault with the box text on p35. are there two Shanes in the Vault Room at this point?

Kreighton Shaine (a version of him, that is) joins the PCs at the beginning of Part 3, accompanying them for the remainder of the adventure. This includes dealing with the Anchors, finding the Sky Key Vault, and dealing with the trouble in the vault. When the PCs find the older Shaine in the vault, that is, in fact, yet another Master of Scrolls. I can only imagine the first Shaine's bewildered expression while watching himself die.

It appears that it occurs during one of my two non-PFS slots. There's always next Origins to find out how it happens. :)

If you don't mind driving a few hours, we're going to be running them at a local con, Tavern Con, here in the Middle of Michigan at the end of August.

It's looking like we may also run it in CharCon, in Charleston, WV in October.

Minor bit of confusion for me. I'm scheduled to run tier 1-5 for this, but the actual subtiers are 1-2, 3-4, and 5-6. Do I need to prep all 3, or just the two lowest?

Dark Archive 4/5 5/55/5 **** Regional Venture-Coordinator, Midwest

And we will be running it a SkalCon in Minneapolis/St Paul on Sept 18-20.

Which you should come to anyway, as it is a charity event benefiting The Tubman (tipi man.org).

One of the early emails for GM'ing at GenCon said that we ought to be prepared to run tier in addition to what we're scheduled for, just in case. They are estimating the number of tables they need in each tier, so there's a chance there might be a last minute shift.

For instance, I'm scheduled for 3-7, but I printed the stat blocks for 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, and 7-8.

Silver Crusade 2/5

Heya all,

I just ran this at Megacon, but the character I'm assigning it to is level 9. Do I hold the chronicle until level 10 or apply it now since they are the only level out of tier. How do I figure out the Out of Tier gold?

Thanks

Edit: or option 3 do I juggle my gm chronicles from Megacon and make that the first chronicle (level 8.3) then apply the rest at 9?

Apply it now - a level 9 character is legal to play the scenario. I believe you get out-of-subtier gold which is the average between subtiers 7-8 and 10-11.

Unless there is a serious problem to fix as sanctioned by a VO, you should apply chronicles in the order played.

Silver Crusade 2/5

Actually, option 3 is what I did, but the juggling is not on the same character but "move the first (GM 5-9) chronicle to a different character." Thus the first chronicle applied was this one, which leveled my character to 9.

Grand Lodge 4/5

Do we know which nation this scenario occurs in for the purpose of the Grand Lodge faction cards? The scenario starts in Absalom, but ancient Azlant is only the same as Absalom in the loosest sense of the word nation.

Shadow Lodge 4/5

I wouldn't allow any Absalom-related features or vanities etc beyond Act 1. Sessegishos and Lacsuhnollo aren't even on the island.

How did everyone handle the game of towers that one of the anchors wants to play?

4/5 5/55/55/55/5 ***

I did it like this.

Did a little Harrow, proposed the 'friendly' game of Towers, explained rules, let them Bluff. My group had Sleight of Hand, but if your group doesn't, let them do two Bluff checks.

I have a question on something mentioned in this adventure, but doesn't seem to appear within it or any other module I know of, and I'd really appreciate some insight if there is any.

Spoiler:
The second paragraph in the introduction mentions that "hundreds" of Jormurdun dwarves survived the Sky Citadel's fall in a bubble outside of time. These dwarves don't make an appearance in 7-00, and they also don't seem to be in any of the Sky Key/Jormurdun scenarios I can find.

Was this a mistake? Was this plot thread just never used?

It's been a little while, but for the little it's worth, like you I'm also pretty sure that's a plot hook that just never quite got followed up on.
