Simple question: can you planeshift into Ravenloft?

3.5/d20/OGL

I know it's perhaps the worst idea in the world, but if you had the right motivation, do you think the Mists would allow people to purposefully planeshift into Ravenloft? I know you can summon creatures from within the plane, but how about when you're starting from outside?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Only if your GM is a Sadist :P

EDIT: I suppose the real question I should be asking is... how are you intentionally attempting to planeshift into Ravenloft? How does your character know about it?

I thought the problem was leaving Ravenloft?

I think that is one of those places that you are lucky to get within a thousand miles of whatever landmark you hope to get to,,,,,

Well, it's actually a Lhaksharut Inevitable that would be using its planeshift ability to do so for plot purposes. I know that I could easily just wave my hand and make it so, but I'm curious if there are any established rules about this in place already.

I'm not sure about hard and fast rules, but I had always understood it to be:

Getting In = no problem
Getting Out = an entirely different proposition

Shadow Lodge

Shift in = sure, why not.
Shift out = only if the dark powers will it.

And they very rarely will it.

Absolutely.

You can planeshift into Ravenloft whenever you want.

On the otherhand, as has already been pointed out...good luck at ever leaving.

You can go in, but you can't get out.
