In someways it's nice to see DC playing with the Multiverse again, lets us see some very interesting alternate concepts for their characters. Just wish they would let more Bruce Timm in their regular comic universe.

Sovereign Court

These are simply amazing

Would be interesting to see the contrast between this Zod Superman and the "Val-Zod" Superman of Earth 2 (pure pacifist).

I would like to hear a conversation between the pre-New-52 Wonder Woman / Diana of Themiscera and this Wonder Woman from New Genesis.

"I wield a sword that is also my connection to Mother Box."

"I wield a lasso that compels people to tell the truth."

"I can see how that would be useful."

Both consider things for a time.

"So, why were you sent to Man's World?"

I loved Wonder Woman as a New God, and the interplay between her and Trevor was great.

Harley needs pants, but otherwise I'm sort of ambivalent on the Batman one. Way, way darker and horrific than Timm's usual stuff though.

Superman, son of Zod... Just wonderful. Hey, Snyder! THAT'S how you do 'gritty' Superman! President Waller, a mission oriented Superman, just great.

I thought the idea is that Wonder Woman is a daughter of Ares, not a Kirby New God, although I can see where someone might get that from the Sword design, but that was a couple of portals, not Boom Tubes.

Trevor: How'd you find me?

Wonder Woman: My Mother Box tracked you.

Trevor: Well, say 'hi' to mom for me, but I don't need any back-up.

It is to note that the Kobra lab was last scene as a Justice Gang hideout on the moon.

I couldn't quite hear the audio on that sentence. But I did recognise Giganta's Egg as closely following the outline of Owlman's Multiverse Reality Bomb.

LazarX and Chris Mortika, I bow to you DC Kung Fu.

I read that she's Bekka, not Diana.

Since Superman isn't Kal-El/Clark Kent and Batman isn't Bruce Wayne, that makes sense.

And she's ginger! I must say, I'm rather jealous, I've gone through 10 incarnations, and I'm still not ginger.

So, this should probably be moved to Movies...

I always treat these ElseWorlds stories as things on their own right. I don't need to compare this Superman to the baseline Clark Kent character. He needs to stand up on his own merits. And he does.

As does Kurt (Langstrom) / Batman. As does Bekka / Wonder Woman. So, that's a win. I would watch more stories involving these characters. The secondary characters -- Magnus, Luthor, Trevor, Lane -- work well.

The plot is pedestrian. (It's a movie. 3 origin stories, character introductions, and a lot of exposition require the plot to be pretty simple. And you know, if you have Boom Tube technology, you can open a portal to the sun's friggin' coronasphere. You don't need any stinkin' alien tech to power your evil gizmo.)

The main issue I have with this movie is the "Mirror universe" nature of it all. Zod is a little bit more ruthless. The New Gods are --- grossly out of character. Other characters are off / meaner / less righteous. All of it. (Except, strangely, Luthor and Silvana.) There's not one historical element that changed. The entire universe is tilted towards evil.

All right, but then the conclusion suggests that the universe is somehow righting itself? Morally ambiguous people are turning good?

I rather liked it myself. Super-Zod is a bit ruthless but deep down he is still a good person, one who can take a step back and revaluate how he's been doing things.

Would love to see more of this setting, I gather there is going to be a comic book so I might check it out.

Would certainly love to see this world meet the Bruce Tim JLU world.

So rumor has it they are doing a second one in this setting, something involving Mary Marvel. Really curious to see what they come up with

Scarab Sages

I've been out of the Superman/Batman universe long enough to only be slightly familiar with the Gods and Monsters story. I keep hearing good things about it, however. Looks like I'll have to pick up the movie and the comics.

It's very interesting and completely unconnected to the normal DC comic stuff. It's like Earth 20 or something

Different World
Different people taking on familiar names and roles
Amanda Waller as President of the USA

I've always been a fan of well done "elseworlds". It's going to have to wait a bit, but I'll get around to it.
