Antipaladin Fear and AoO build


Advice


Please critique my build. It is my first martial character. It's built to Channel Negative Energy to stack fear conditions on multiple targets (through the Shatter Resolve feat) and then to take advantage of AoOs. It will begin playing at 5th level or later.

Beacon of Evil (Su) may use a touch of corruption to grant himself and all allies in a 30-feet area a +1 morale bonus to AC and on attack rolls, damage rolls, and saving throws against fear for 1 minute

I chose the Dread vanguard archetype in order to extend Aura of Cowardice to 30 feet at 12th level. I don't like losing spellcasting, so either I will invest heavily in UMD, either I will take a crafter wizard as a cohort (Vile Leadership at 7th). In this later case, which trait could replace Dangerously Curious?
Subsequent feats should be Lunge and Extra Touch of Corruption, then maybe something more combat oriented? I would rise Dex to 16 at 8th level. I know that Con is low for a martial character, but I would put all FCB in hp. Is AC too low right now? It could get to 19 with Beacon of Evil and then could be raised through magical ways.
Our party is composed of a Druid (Wolf Shaman) and a Rogue.

Note that with fiendish on a weapon you pick the effect each time you use it.
Are you planning to use fear to get movement based AoOs? If that is so, consider combat feats or cruelties that will limit enemy mobility and keep them in your threatened area.
A conductive weapon is your best friend.
Note that lunge ends at the end of your turn, not much help for AoO.

Thank you very much! Yes, exactly, if the trick works it should lead to movement based AoOs. I am not very familiar with combat feats, have you got something to suggest?

I plan to take a conductive weapon. Also very good points on lunge and on cruelties: Cursed then might be a better and more versatile option than Exhausted.


The most straightforward feats I know to get AoO and limit mobility are going to be the trip chain, luckily you have the int for combat expertise. Get improved trip, felling smash, greater trip. Sucker tries to run from your fear you trip him with aoo, this gives you an aoo. He tries to stand to get away, aoo, he moves away, aoo. Is he still alive? Felling smash him to the dirt snd repeat.

Sounds really cool, but that's 5 feats. I will seriously consider this, though...


Yeah, the two sides to your concept could each eat your whole allotment of feats, will have to decide where you will get the most fun.
