Too bad you forgot about Scenario rule... far as I can remember, every Henchman in the scenario was Undead and since trigger was "non-villain bane" you "cheated" yourself out of 4 cards at minimum. Possibly even more since there were another Undead or two you faced...
yes, it is possible I could have gotten a couple improved boons but it would have required increasing the overall difficulty of the scenario to keep them. Given the reward text I could replay the scenario. I probably won't because I don't really have the time to do it and get the final scenario recorded/edited.

Are there really any boons in the base set that are so good that it's worth replaying one of the B scenarios? Maybe I'm wrong, but I haven't found any that really fit that bill. Maybe, possibly, one or two of the allies, but it's not like anyone's talking up a Deathbane Light Crossbow +1 or a Holy Candle or a stat gem around these parts.

There aren't any B boons (except Silver Raven and Fiery Glare) that are arguably good enough to put a monster back into play to begin with - especially not the Wights. Also, you can't pull allies using the scenario effect - only weapon, spell, armour, and item. So certainly not for reloading the whole scenario, and risking getting auto-mazed by a bad Karsos pull.
Maybe Magic Shield, since you can shut down Arboreal Blight's tim damage with it.

As you have said, Sandslice, these boons are OK, but man, I wouldn't get too stoked if they turned up during an explore. None of these are things that would make me say: "I am not going to spend that blessing to explore / add to a check, just to keep it in reserve in case someone hits the xxxxxxx card."
I'm talking about Deathbane Light Crossbow + 1, baby. It's such a cool card that they decided to put it in a bunch of the class decks, just so that you can add a few drops of Awesome to your box-mix whenever you need to amp it up to 11. I can't remember if the class deck ones are a 1 though.
Demonbane Crossbow is likewise cool, but sadly that number 1 in the top-right corner mutes that puppy down to a 7. What I wouldn't give for a weapon that would slice and dice a tree or a demon in the base set.
Boons that surprise and delight and add pizzazz and where the obtaining thereof make the whole scenario worthwhile even if you fail are what I miss most about the base scenarios in Wrath.

I believe the one in the Bard class deck is a 2.

So really the class decks don't have drops of awesome - just drops of somewhat OK to meh.
Here's to hoping that we see a baneweapon break the B-barrier sometime in a future set, or get stat gems or something else that makes players' greedy little lootfingers vellicate in anticipation.
Cleric deck has a B Wisdom Gem.

While you want people excited about new boons, I didn't like the baneweapon in B in RotR. It seemed like the best ranged weapon in the first half of the game was that undead bane light crossbow. I prefer what they did with Wrath, giving you the weapon a bit later into the campaign.

That weapon is why I added the Character Add-On deck to our Rise of the Runelords game at the halfway point. We were playing Valeros and Lem, so we didn't *need* any of the cards in there, but yeah it was hard to beat the Deathbane Light Crossbow as a proficiency-not-required ranged weapon until the Acidic/Force slings in decks 5 and 6.

I would be almost as excited about a baneweapon with more limited utility. Like a bonus against cards that have the Bunyip trait. You know the next base set, despite being set in a desert, is gonna have at least one.

I have almost had a character drown in the middle of a desert in the RPG - I wouldn't be surprised about a bunyip in the desert in the ACG.
Especially given the number of times I've randomly had a bell fall on me in the middle of a forest in RotR.

We put the wights back in whenever we could, and we didn't care whether the boon was good or not. It seemed just generally good sense to shuffle henchmen back into the location decks when possible. More henchmen in the decks means more opportunity to close them down that much quicker.

That is a very good point Ron. I hadn't considered that strategy but it seems like a solid one.
