This is an interest check thread for a Giantslayer campaign to be played over D20 Pro with weekly sessions with an average play time of 4 hours a night.

This campaign will utilize some Unchained rules, some Houserules, and some third party publisher materials.

I have the D20 Pro License for up to 6 guests, so no one will have to purchase the d20Pro license to play.

Unchained:

Unchained Classes (see Houserules)
Background Skills
Alternate Crafting and Profession Rules
Skill Unlocks
Variant Multiclassing
Diseases and Poisons
Limited Magic
Auto Bonus Progression (With limited/No magic Treasure(+3))

Characters, Houserules & 3PP Information:

This campaign uses Unchained Barbarian, Monk, and Rogue in place of the core classes.

No classes with full (9th lvl) Spell progression allowed (6th level Spell classes are ok)

Path of War and Path of War Expanded material is allowed. Ultimate Psionics allowed, but only classes with maximum power level known of 6 or less. Save DCs will be modified in a manner consistent with Limited Magic.

Fighters have the following modifications: At 3rd level and every 3 levels thereafter, a Fighter gains additional bonus feats from the following list. He must meet the prerequisites for any bonus feats from this list: Acrobatic, Athletic, Dodge, Exotic Weapon Proficiency, Martial Power, Martial Training I, II, III, IV, V, & VI, Shield Focus, Weapon Focus, Weapon Specialization, Weapon Versatility, and all Combat Style Feats. Add Acrobatics, Knowledge (Martial), and Perception to their Class Skills, and bump their Skill Points to 4+Int/ Level.(players wishing to play this modified class with Hero Lab can email a request for the Fighter (PoW) file I created for Hero Lab.)

Other 3rd Party Classes that have Hero Lab support will be considered, provided they follow the general restrictions on casting/manifesting above.

Magic Item Crafting is only allowed for potions, wands, and scrolls. There will be some magic items, but they will be found, not crafted/bought.

Just say NO: Guns, Leadership, Magic Shops

Races: Humanoid only. If you want to make your own race, you can make a humanoid with up to 10 RP.

Alignments: LG, NG, CG, LN

Stats: use one of the following arrays: 16/16/14/13/12/10, 16/15/14/14/13/10, or 16/16/15/13/10/10 before racial adjustments, or use a 25 point buy with no sell-down of stats.

2 Traits, 1 must be from Player's Guide, below

Hit Points: Max, every level

Wound Thresholds: rather than the debilitating Wound Thresholds from Unchained, we will be using Wound Thresholds to help with limited healing resources.

75% max HP Grazed: The creature has taken no real injuries, expending a reserve of energy and skill. He can recover to full Hit Points with a minute's rest/light activity. All healing magic is maximized.
50% max HP Wounded: The creature has been injured, but the injuries are minor and heal quickly. Double the normal natural healing rates. Magical healing has a minimum effect of half of its maximized amount.
25% max HP Critical: The creature has been injured severely and heals at the normal rates.

Round Down. If a creature is at or below the listed Wound Thresholds and still alive, he heals at the rates suggested.

This campaign will be following the storyline of Giantslayer, with the NPCs modified with most of the rules above (Racial and Alignment restrictions obviously not followed, standard/elite arrays for stats, you get the idea.) so you won't be facing any wizards, clerics, oracles, etc.

Giantslayer Player's Guide

The best days for me are Mondays or Tuesdays, and the time slots of 6:30-10:30 or 7-11 pm EST the ones I will be most comfortable with.

I believe I will be eliminating the "Limited Magic" from the list of Unchained rules above(and remove similar restriction from Psionics), as the Auto Bonus Progression will increase saves and the other limits I placed on spellcasters will reduce maximum DCs. Don't want to totally screw with casters, just reign them in a bit.

I happen to have quite a bit of interest in the Giantslayer campaign and have a Bloodrager I want to play quite badly.

A Bloodrager could do quite well with this set up :)

Curious if there would be more interest for a different day/time and/or less houserule.

Silver Crusade

I'd be interested. I'm a seasoned Pathfinder player, but have no experience with online play. Take that for what you will.

Bloodragers are fun though.

Cool. Online play is pretty easy to pick up and I'm a patient teacher.

I'm up for Mondays, but how do you feel on clerics? If not imma be a rogue. Cuz stabby stabby

Pathfinder Lost Omens Subscriber

Everyone loves a good cleric.

I do love Clerics, but I don't like some high level spells. In particular, summoning spells and some all in one spells like miracle. If you're willing to work with me on some of that stuff when we get to those levels, I'd be good with a cleric for this campaign.

Stabby stabby is good too :)

Alternatively, we could redesign the cleric as a 6th level spellcaster with some add-ons like more skill points, heavy armor proficiency, bonus channeling feats, and access to additional domains from their god.

I would be interested in a Monday game. I have a couple players waiting in the wings for such an occasion. An unchained rogue and an unchained barbarian. I can also throw together other characters pretty quick if I needed to play something else. But the rogue and the barbarian have me pretty excited, which ever one you would want.

I'm very much in if its a Tuesday game, either times.

Thank you for inviting me! Monday and Tuesday are both fine.

Hay Reckless, I think monday or tuesday could work for me. I am thinking an alchemist of some kind,

I am looking at the Giantslayer player's guide, and am thinking that my mother was raped when giants came down from the mountains and raided her settlement. One option is that she died giving birth to a half-giant, making me an orphan (Orphaned by Giants). Another option is that she miraculously lived through the child-birth (Giant-Blooded, Roll With It, Student of Giantkind, or something else).

Can't decide between melee and ranged, so I am thinking both; as well as climbing, jumping, balance, etc.

I will be your cleric. Since I was planning on healing as the focus its not an issue. When would you like her stats?

I vote for the 6:30 start, but 7:00 is also good.

work in progress: http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheet.html#id=247624
Melee won out over ranged.

I forgot to mention either time is actually good for me, as the 630 I may sometimes miss the start of due to work. If we start next Tuesday I know I'm unavaible but after that nothing in way of healing and saying you shouldn't have stabbed it if you didn't want it to stab you

Pathfinder Lost Omens Subscriber

Both days are fine for me. I can be available for either time.

Ok, from the jump in interest due to my Skype Blast, it seems we will have a viable game. I have heard from one or two others from that message who might also be interested.

I have six slots open. More than that would probably be difficult to run anyway, so we'll shoot for that number for a group.

I'll be posting here with "recruitment" information sometime tonight or (more likely) tomorrow (no sense opening another thread). There will be time for people to build their characters and come up with some background information. More details to come in the recruitment post. Please read through the Player's Guide linked above to familiarize yourself with the starting town and campaign traits.

This is the information I have on the interested parties so far:

Lokiel bloodrager Mon Tue
Bark-Biter
fatmanspencer cleric Mon? Tue
Donithus rogue or barbarian
Warsor Tue
PhillyG psychic warrior Mon Tue
The smitter alchemist Mon Tue
Pokeapache Mon Tue

I'd definitely be down for joining in!

Both days/times are good for me, considering playing a Dwarven Ranger :3 (haven't decided on a combat style or anything yet, will probably wait and see what the group would benefit from more)

Grand Lodge

This is the bloodrager I had in mind for this campaign. This is Lokiel, by the by.

Thinking Halfling slayer or human titan fighter.

Recruitment Post

This is now officially a recruitment thread for a D20Pro Giantslayer Campaign using the following houserules:

Houserules:

Unchained
Background Skills
Alternate Crafting and Profession Rules
Skill Unlocks
Variant Multiclassing
Diseases and Poisons
Auto Bonus Progression (With limited/No magic Treasure(+3))
This campaign uses Unchained Barbarian, Monk, and Rogue in place of the core classes.

other houserules
No classes with full (9th lvl) Spell progression allowed (6th level Spell classes are ok)

Path of War and Path of War Expanded material is allowed. Ultimate Psionics allowed, but only classes with maximum power level known of 6 or less.

Fighters have the following modifications: At 3rd level and every 3 levels thereafter, a Fighter gains additional bonus feats from the following list. Add Acrobatics, Knowledge (Martial), and Perception to their Class Skills, and bump their Skill Points to 4+Int/ Level.(players wishing to play this modified class with Hero Lab can email a request for the Fighter (PoW) file I created for Hero Lab.)

Clerics have the following modifications: Gain 4 skill points per level instead of 2. They follow the six-level spellcaster progression(see Magus), but have 2 domain spells per day instead of one. At 2nd level and every three levels thereafter (5th, 8th, 11th, 14th, 17th, 20th) they gain a bonus feat, chosen from any feat that has channel energy as a prerequisite. They must meet all other prerequisites. At 4th, 7th, and 10th level, they gain access to an additional Domain (including all powers, as well as access to the spell selection for their daily domain spells.)

We will be leveling as the campaign calls for it, not tracking XP.

I will be using HeroLabs for the characters and NPCs, and using this to create D20Pro Tokens. If you have Hero Lab and wish to do the same, send me the .por files, please. These can be sent to me at strattonel at yahoo dot com.

We will be using D20Pro's macros to run things, as long as they seem to be working. We will be using D20Pro chat. Please let me know if you have any preference regarding (also) using voice chat, such as Skype. The final decision on that will be made after the players have been chosen.

Recruitment will be open to all comers until 5/25/15. I will decide on PCs to form the party by 5/27, and we will aim to begin play on Tue 5/30 at 6:30 pm.

EpicWords Campaign Home; passcode is "slay" this site will be used for informational storage, treasure stuff, npc info, etc. I'll be working on this and setting up the D20Pro over the next week as you work on your submissions.

Only a little. With the houserules in this campaign, it's more like "not magically dependent" then "low magic". Really just trying to dull magic's dominance of the game a bit while not removing it entirely. The Automatic Bonus Progression takes care of the "need" for "the big six", allowing for more "wondrous" magic items to appear as cool treasure.

"Gritty" the way they describe it in those adverts seems to be another term for "tpk producing". As some of the players hereabouts can attest, I need no help with that. XD

Grand Lodge

I'm here for judgement! Also, I'd be up for using skype to communicate with the other players. It'd be nice

Since you didn't seem to change how clerics do their channels I'm all in. I hope I make the cut! Also Skype is fine, but since I don't use hero lab you want me to just like word doc it for you?, with the relative pages from the booms cuz I got them all... And I love ussing them. Cuz different feats and stuff are fun

lol

How do you feel about an half-giant metacreationsist?

Liberty's Edge

Pathfinder Adventure Path, Lost Omens, Rulebook Subscriber

Aegis, Cryptic, Dread, Marksman, Psychic Warrior, and Soulknife (and their archetypes) are the Ult Psionics classes that fall under the umbrella of "Maximum 6th level powers" in the Houserules.

Modifying Cleric was one thing, because I could build something that still resembled my vision of a Cleric's role. Wizard, Druid, Psion? not so "easy".

Just wanted to clarify that in case anyone didn't understand.

Humanoid, as used above, is a game term, and does not include monstrous humanoids, outsiders, fey, etc.

Thanks.

one more day for submissions, awfully quiet....

spence:
changing to a dwarf is a net -4 cha (due to dwarves having a -2 penalty and aasimar having a +2) doesn't matter to me if that's the way you want to go, just please get me an updated sheet & background for whichever race you go with

I thank everyone for your interest and great submissions and hope for future opportunities to play with you all. Congratulations to the following six characters picked for this campaign (in alphabetical order):

Drohad played by Warsor M Dwarf Harbinger
Jackobi Jinglestep played by Brother Fen M Halfling Slayer
Kalrog Greenscale played by Lokiel M Half-Orc Bloodrager
Nomida Khursten played by Pokeapache F Dwarf Ranger
Sala played by Kyndig M Half-Orc Warpriest of Gorum
Vynec played by fatmanspencer F Dwarf Cleric of Torag

Build Notes

Jacobi did not have Background Skills or Automatic Bonus Progression selected. He needs to allocate 2 Background Skill Points.

Vynec needs to select two Domains from her deity's list so I can add that in. Also, select chosen spells for a typical day in Trunau. I also need a Skype address for fatmanspencer.

Kalrog has overspent 1 adventuring skill and underspent 1 background skill point. Need to drop a skill point from Climb, Intimidate, Knowledge (Arcana), Perception, or Survival and allocate it to a background skill.

Nomida's background indicates she is living in Freedom Town, but the adventure starts in Trunau, so she needs a reason to be there (for at least a week or so).

Vynec and Jacobi please join the Epic Words Campaign Site using passcode "slayer" and add your characters in.
