Efficient Quiver value for an archer.

Rules Questions

Hi. I'm playing an archer, and recently i found Efficient Quiver. Problem is i never needed it before since i carried 4 quivers for different arrows (2 on the hips, 2 on my back). When i found it, i looked at the rules, but could not find any mention that a
1) plyer can't have more then one quiver at the same time,
2) or that he can't keep different arrows in one quiver (on a hip for example), look at the desired arrow, and draw it as a free action.
3) In fact, even efficient quiver description says that it does not take a body slot.

I know that a character can stash wands and rods in there, but i don't have any of that, what i want to know is what use it is for an archer?

Saves weight and holds way more ammo.

Depending on the kind of archer you are, there are a few things that an efficient quiver can help resolve:

Single target with 60 arrows for abundant ammunition
It can hold fairly large quantities of mixed ammunition types, without adding to your weight.

And, while it doesn't seem to apply in your case, some GMs can go into conniptions if your PC has what they consider to be "too many" quivers.

Also, just think about how many arrows you could have with 4 of these babies, instead of four mundane quivers. 240 arrows, instead of a paltry 80. Remember that, at higher levels, you can easily start going through a lot of arrows in a single round, not even counting any AoOs that Snap Shot might grant.

11th level, full BAB class:
11/6/1, three shots for a base attack
Make it 4 with Manyshot
9/9/4/-1, 5 arrows with Rapid Shot
10/10/10/5/0, 6 arrows with haste or a Speed weapon.

Suddenly, 80 arrows becomes only 13 full round attacks, not counting, as I mentioned AoAs or other factors that can give extra bowshots.

Thanks, i guess it will make sense at 11th level when i hope my paladin will have full 6 attacks. For now, at 6th level i only have 2 attacks, which is enough for 10 rounds of uninterrupted combat with 20 arrows of particular kind.

An often overlooked bonus to the efficient quiver is that is stores arrows in extra-dimensional space. Throw some large size arrows in there and when your mage hits you with enlarge person, you can actually do more damage. Add in a gravity bow, and you have just become a walking ballista with the fastest reload time in history.

Also, IIRC, extradimensional spaces are harder for enemies to do anything to, such as steal from. I know of a Shadowdancer whose primary tactic is to Stealth around and pickpocket anything not tied down to the enemies, including all their arrows. Leads to amusing situations, but is also something a DM could use against you.
