The "at this location" power applies to all the characters in the current game? Like if there are 6 players, check difficulty is increased by 6 regardless of where these characters are?
As long as one character is at Abattoir, it doesn't matter where the others are: check difficulty is increased by the number of (living) characters.
Dead characters don't count.
