D&D APs

Pathfinder Adventure Path General Discussion

I recently acquired some Pathfinder APs in a local store and found they are under the D&D3 ruleset.

Are there any plans to compile in a single volume and update to Pathfinder rules Curse of the Crimson Throne, Second Darkness and Legacy of Fire?

Is it there at least some online resource to update them to the new Pathfinder rules, even if just fan made?

What about the Dragon original APs Shackled City, Age of Worms and Savage Tide?

The Paizo staff repeatedly deny that there are any plans to do so. The last one, Rise of the Runelords, was produced on top of everything else they were doing, which was a huge source of stress.

That said, a lot of people are holding out hope for further Anniversary Editions.

The forums can help with the updating - check out the forums for each individual AP.

Paizo lacks the rights to the Dragon APs. You'll have to do that yourself, or check around the forums.

Hope this helps. ^_^

For STAP there's some great stuff in the STAP section of the boards (and probably for AOW and SCAP too). You could start here in any case:

And as someone who has run Savage Tide and Legacy of Fire under the Pathfinder rules, I can tell you that the conversion is trivially easy.

Shackled City (the first "Adventure Path") was compiled into a hardcover and updated to D&D3.5e.

Age of Worms and Savage Tide will likely never be compiled and certainly not updated to PFRPG since they are owned by WotC.

Rise of the Runelords was compiled and updated to PFRPG as a special (one-off) Anniversary Edition.

For Curse of the Crimson Throne, Second Darkness, and Legacy of Fire, it's difficult to know. Paizo consistently states they have no plans to compile/update those APs. But, it's possibly they could do one sometime in the future as circumstances change. It's not something I would hold out and wait for though.

As Torondor mentions, updating them yourself is so easy it can be done on the fly as your playing the game.

Hello Balacertar,

It looks like a few other folks got your questions answered. There are no announced plans to release compiled versions of any more Adventure Paths. The Dragon Magazine ones are owned by Wizards of the Coast.

Some of our community members have done conversions of them which you should be able to search for in the conversions section of our message boards.

There's also a D&D3.5 to Pathfinder conversion guide available on this website. It's free to download here.

Thanks all for your answers!

I mostly have problems with classes and magical objects no longer available in Pathfinder, as well as encounter challenge. There is no only change on the VD of enemies, but it seems the characters are way ahead in power from expected for their level by the adventure.

The experience in our group comes from playing RHOD. We switched to Pathfinder at half adventure and it changed from a continue struggle to hastily stomping over the encounters.

Just sharing my experience and desire to see those compilations/conversions appear sooner than later. I understand though there is no plan for it and I will gladly look at all the resources pointed out. Thanks :)

I ran Rise of the Runelords through the first 5 books before the updated anniversary edition came out and had little problem adjusting encounter difficulty. You will find many of creatures have been added to the bestiaries by this time.

Also, this fan conversion link was very helpful.

Good luck and enjoy the paths.
