Automatic Bonus Progression from the Unchained Book

Rules Questions

What do you guys think about the Automatic Bonus Progression from the Unchained Book.

I have looked at it for the Unchained monk at level 16 his AC is 48, fort is 21, ref is 23, will is 23 to hit is +28 using slashing grace and tiger style, Str is 16, dex is 26, con is 22, int is 22, Wis is 36, cha is 18, using the stat array of 18, 18, 16, 16, 12, 14. There are only 3 of us in the group so that is why our starting stats are so high. The dc for any of my ki powers at this level is 31 and i have 21 ki.

This is all with no gear besides a few masterwork items but no magic items at all.

What's the question here...?

Sorry do you guys think it is OP or just limiting the character to much as if you go with the option for no magic items at all your leaving out a lot of items you could have access to.

Many groups have attempted to run campaigns using settings where Magic Items were either scare or completely non-existent. However magical items are such a core feature of DnD/Pathfinder and the Fantasy Genre in general that some players feel alienated by their absence. Also it's somewhat difficult for less experienced GMs to rebalance encounters to take into account the lack of extra power granted from magical gear.

The Automatic Bonus Progression system is just an extra set of optional tools to try and bridge the gap between setting fluff and mechanical crunchy bits. Like everything else in the Unchained book, for some games they'll be a great fit for what the campaign is trying to accomplish. But they shouldn't just be tossed into every game without consideration.

Slashing Grace doesn't work with Tiger Style. Unarmed Strikes are light weapons and Slashing Grace requires a one-handed weapon

They are changing slashing grace to work with light and 1 handed weapons they have even sorta fixed it in the stamina section of the Unchained with the slashing grace stamina feat making a reference to light and 1 handed weapons.

Well, considering how off your stats are, I think there are some issues. You've got at least 18 too many stat points allocated, if not 20.

yes sorry I noticed that I calculated my stats as if I had taken a few legendary boosts and at level 16 I would not have the legendary boosts yet my bad. So I have 18 points to many. Take 6 off of wisdom. 2 off of con, Int and 4 off of Str and Cha, that should fix it.
