98. You were actually paid to attack the civilians but your would be employer insulted you and now you're going to turn on your fellow bandits and help them because no one talks to you that way!

99. You need information from one of them but you don't have time to figure out who so you had better save all of them.

100. Because the Big Bad is a necromancer and every life lost now is an undead minion you are going to need to fight later.

101. Because you are friends with the GM and the other players and you don't want to derail the campaign.

Done.

105. Because sooner or later you may need a place to lay low, and a grateful commoner is always happy to help. (Neutral)

106. Because "... safeguard the helpless and do no wrong." (Good)

107. They are yours to butcher, not some other creature. (Evil).

108. Fortune

109. Glory

110. You've been geased.

111. Mom said you should. (Oh wait, that's the same as the Geas spell.)

112. Cause if you do, it will really piss off the villain, and that's always fun!

Yeah, some are like that.

Liberty's Edge

116. Because saving innocents is a great oppertunity. After all, some of those people might be more willing to become your follower/vassal/cultist after you save them and train them up right.

117. because when my anti-paladin needs to corrupt a village and build up the power of evil, it helps if people are on your side. that and she would be so proud when her loyal apprentice actually manages to pull a brilliant betrayal and take all the powers for themselves, leaving me near death, with no hope of rescue. They grow up so fast *tears of parental pride in the monster created*.

119. Because your GM has announced that instead of giving XP for killing monsters he's going to give XP for keeping NPCs alive and free.

120. Because it'd be more fun to make them all happy by being their hero and saving them only to cook them all alive the next day. Disbelief, fear, confusion. Excellent spices to any meal!

121. Because a good Barista is hard to find.

121. Bait. You can use bait over and over again.Just keep your bait alive.

And you don’t crackers in the bed of your future, or you get all… scratchy.

127. "We know the score! We are a public service, not glamor boys! Not captains of industry! Not makers of things! Keep your vulgar monies! We are a justice sandwich, no toppings necessary!"
