I would very much like to go see it, but unfortunately I don't like to go to the movies alone.

I normally go with my dad but due to work we've been unable to go for... awhile, actually. I think the last movie I saw in theaters was Iron Man 3.

That sucks. I usually don't like to go to movies by myself either...though I do like catching the Sunday first showings in the morning. It is half price and not crowded usually.

If I live by you I would totally be taking you to the movies.

Ah, thanks for reminding me, I need to actually finish the review of it. There's a bunch of things, but the final fight and aftermath is a big part of my dislike.

SPOILERS FOR THE HELLFIRE COMPACT:
The books just basically saying that when it's revealed that the angel knight is mutilated and used to be a beggar and that alone will undo all the good she's done left a very bad taste in my mouth. So basically if you're not pretty and perfect you can't be a hero, if you're not at a standard of beauty or have any disabilities or imperfections you're s&#$ out of luck -_-

I get that. The book really should have played up other factors as well - social and class, the weight of oppression from PCs, and the very real possibility that all Chelish* people are a$$#%@s**.

*#notallchels

**Full disclosure: I am half-Varisian and half-elf, so me saying this is probably inappropriate.

It does seem a little too simplistic and superficial in comparison to their usual depth.

I will say that aside from the adventure I do like the other articles in the book, one of the reasons why it has a 1 star rating instead of zero. The other reason being that you can't give 0 star ratings.

The typhilipede is f$$+ing adorable and I f!!@ing want one!

Pathfinder Adventure Path, Lost Omens, Starfinder Adventure Path, Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

For what it's worth,

Spoiler:
it's not just that she's chopped up- it's that her mutilations directly link her to a specific underclass despised by many Chelaxians in a kneejerk reflexive way they should be ashamed of. It's a little too pat, but I don't see it as "undoing all the good" she has done- rather, the reveal sends the more conventional citizens of a place the adventure describes as being sort of the armpit of Cheliax scurrying away from rebellious thoughts they weren't yet committed to.

Not that that's going to make you suddenly like it or anything, but it (sadly) didn't ring all that false to me.

Silver Crusade

Pathfinder Adventure, Adventure Path, Companion, Lost Omens, Rulebook, Starfinder Adventure Path, Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

Spoiler:
By including the "she belongs to an underclass" just makes it even worse.

And unfortunately the books does flat out say it will undo all she has done and it that she will be quickly forgotten and that it will be for the best.

The bar was set low going into this story so I figured there might be a couple things I like about it but alas the bar is now below the floor. At this point I'm not looking forward to the rest of the iconic's backstories and the rest of the AP.

Hmm, perhaps Wrath of the Righteous will make a better Suicide Squad for Tammy.

Yep, Hell's Vengeance is most definitely an evil campaign; they may have toned down the nastier elements to keep with their PG-13 rating level, but aside from that they really aren't pulling any punches. The society shows the signs of an oppressed people and how they have been trained to react after so many years of diabolic rule.

It is definitely not for everyone.

There's a lot more than just the adventure though. Rysky, did you find the rest of the book useless (other than the afore mentioned typhilipede) or was there other material you found good?

I'm okay with an evil campaign.

I'm not okay with a douchebag campaign.

As I said I did like the rest of the book, it has an article and map of Longacre, the town where most of this AP takes place in.

The NPC gallery hoes into greater detail on Cimri and Lencia, which is nice, but it also contains Lazarrro, the villainous Iconic cleric, who I detest. Before anyone reminds me that he's a, ya'know, a villain, yes, I know this. He's also a petty, unlikable douchebag who's not interesting in the slightest (the other two iconic's they've shown so far are interesting to me, in contrast).

A breakdown and timeline of the Glorius Reclamation, they even have their own Paladin style code they follow!

The rest of bestiary is nice, is has a Kuribu (Angel, not fuzzy), a large skeletal undead called a Centianima, it has two heads, one on each end of its body, Fiend Bred animals, which are animals descended from specific fiendish creatures, and finally the typhilipede, which is bat mixed with a centipede kinda and it eats light and the artwork for it is friggin adorable.

And finally fiction by Josh Vogt!

Tammy begins casually setting fires around the edges of Vingorg's village.

See, Wiggles loved Tammy, not many people loved Tammy.

Tammy gleefully dumps a dead pig in the town's well

So, while some evil people resort to torturing animals, Tammy finds it too low brow.

Tammy, after months of intentionally starving a nest of Pugwampi, feed them a human finger, then, almost as an afterthought, turns them loose in the dead of night.

So, Vingorg, while Tammy appreciates the suggestion, she will have to politely decline. Oops, almost forgot to lock the doors when I left the windows open..

Just remember kids, crime doesn't pay unless you have a PLAN.

I might have a potential TPK on my hands in a confirmation game, against the undead in the cave.

I'm unsure how i should feel about this. Giving a PC a thrashing is all good fun, but vs skeletons and zombies on lvl 1?

My dice must be evil aligned, with the results they give me.

Added info:

They opted on playing tier 2, thus they are advanced simple skeletons and plague zombies.

How would you feel about this, Rysky?

I got my physical copy of Hellfire yesterday, and I couldn't resist looking thru it. A few thoughts on it

1) your assessment of the end is pretty good.
2) they capture how evil and vile conservative Midwestern towns can get with stagnation.
3) Wes did his homework on tanneries and clonal root colonies.
4) Razelago!! (I really like Raz)
5) Wes loves westerns, and so do I
6) it underscores that I'm a good person, as I relate more to the rebels, and I'm pretty sure Tammy couldn't hurt Jexxi.
7) the artwork for the guyad is pretty sweet, with the birch lines adding a nice touch of realism.

Glomps?

A portmanteau word that combines 'Glances' and 'Stomps' ?

What a Norwegian with a minor speech impediment uses to glight his way in the dark?

Dutch lip gloss?

A brand of brightly-coloured and somewhat unattractively styled footwear?

Or none of the above?
