* No, not really. Don't curse you. Don't curse anything. Cursing things sucks.

Every time I want to stream something, it has either been

a)On Amazon Prime Streaming but not Netflix
b)On both Amazon Prime and Netflix
c)On neither

I have since cancelled Netflix. I haven't checked if Amazon has Avatar/Korra, though, and I'm too lazy tired and sleep-deprived to check now.

I do not, alas. Thanks, though!

Weird thought: potential "fix" for fabricate - make the current "material component" a "focus" instead (optional: require its value to be equal to the finished profuct*). Then, in the text, note that a certain amount of material is altered into the finished product.

* Note: only make its value equal to the finished product if it's a focus; if it's material components, it's just sucky.

The reason this is a "fix" - it forces the faster to have on-hand lots of raw material. This makes the whole process weird and magical, and allows for the oddness of magic to be apparent - "Yes, I've gotta have a hundred tons of raw lumber - no, I don't want to craft anything with it and certainly don't let anyone make it nice or useful or finished I any way; yes deliver it to 'Crazy Ned's Lonely Wizard Tower of Random Stuff' in 'Middle of Nowhere' forest; yes, I'll pay extra for shipping and expiditing..." - and also shows off the concept of Sympathy in magic. It also permits the Mage to do their mate thing, gathering reagents and catalysts and whatnot, but it doesn't punish them by forcing them into a no-win money-sink scenario. They have their ton of lumber, half-ton of iron, and so on: now they can buy their one pound (total) wood, iron, and whatnot to make infinite daggers or whatever.

It also explains why people don't normally do this - eventually those foci are going to rot or rust without lots of (probably at least moderately expensive) care. Yet, at least a few people would, which helps explain (to a limited extent) the general availability of stuff.

Anyway, that's the idea for now. Not sure I'd ever impotent it, but it was an interesting thought.

Huh, I justed noticed that the non-DMsguild OBS database has exactly 666 5e-compatible products (not counting WotC products and the DMsguild.)

Can't complain. I am busier than I once was, and furthermore I am not in any active Pathfinder games now, so that's why I'm not posting much, but overall my life is good.

How about you?

So, it looks like I'm finally going to get to playtest with the Spheres of Power system, sometime next week. And I built my BLAS-TURRRRR!!

Theldran (unequipped):

CG Male Human Sphere Sorcerer 7

HP 55
SP 21 (spell points)

    At-wills:
  • DESTRUCTION
  • Destructive blast -- +2 melee touch / +5 ranged touch (Medium range) (4d6+1 bludgeoning/x2)
  • Destructive burst -- (Medium range) 5'- or 10'-radius burst (5d6+2 bludgeoning, Ref DC 20 for half)
  • PROTECTION
  • Ward -- Personal to 45'-radius barrier (perimeter only), absorbs 11 hp of damage, Break DC 18, Concentration duration (move action each round)
  • TELEKINESIS
  • "Mage Hand" -- telekinetically manipulate Small objects, 40' range, 25'/round speed
  • Catch -- readied action, capture a projectile of up to Small size, negating ranged attack damage, allows Will DC 18 to negate (attacker)
  • Bludgeon -- as "Mage Hand", but +8 vs AC, damage based upon size of moved object (1d4 for Small)

The "destructive blast" and "destructive burst" can be modified with either Air Blast (nonlethal damage, bull rush @ +13) or Electric Blast (5d6 base damage, -3 AC/save penalty for metal-wearing targets, combusts/melts certain materials) for free.

If I spend a spell point,

  • the Destruction effects deal "double damage" (8d6 or 10d6, respectively)
  • the Protection sphere can make the Ward last 7 rounds or put a +2 deflection AC aegis on a person for 7 hours
  • with Telekinesis I can "mage hand" an unwilling target with a Will DC 18 to negate (save each round to end effect) or generate a 7-minute "sustained force" on a manipulated object

Spending a spell point can also enable:

  • true strike on a destructive blast
  • a 7-round destructive sphere (as flaming sphere)
  • a fireball AoE
  • a 7-hour resist 17 of one of: acid, cold, electricity, fire, or sonic)
  • 7 minutes of flight at 25'/round with perfect maneuverability
  • with the Extend Spell feat, I can double the duration of any of these effects

I took the Spellcrafting feat so I could build defenestrating sphere (No, DM, *I* get to pick which direction I throw him!!), turn the burst attacks into damage and bull rush attempts, fuse the damage absorption/+2 AC/resist energy 17 together, and still have two more "spells" I can craft.

Seems strong!! And it's not even gestalt!!!

CASTING
Casting Time 1 standard action
Components V, S, DF
EFFECT
Range medium (100 ft. + 10 ft./level)
Area cylander (40 ft. radius, 20 ft. high)
Duration 1 round per level and instantaneous (see text)
Saving Throw none or Will or Fortitude negates (see text); SR no
DESCRIPTION
A rain of strange (relatively light-weight) metallic containers filled with a strange (relatively heavy) meat-like substance, and cheeses of all sorts (squares, shreds, and small wheels) fills the area, dealing 2d6 points of non-lethal bludgeoning damage to every creature in the area. This damage only occurs once, when the spell is cast.

For the remaining duration of the spell, this debris covers the ground, making the entire area difficult terrain; further, all creatures within the area (including the caster, if present) have their attitude towards the caster decrease by one step. At the end of the duration, the cans disappear, leaving behind their salty, greasy, meat-like contents along with all the cheese. The change in attitude may or may not remain, depending on the caster and those creatures affected.

Swarms that move through the region must make a will save or become stuck for the duration, effectively forced to remain in an area containing this food, as it feasts on this instead of other creatures; the swarm gains the entangled condition and becomes rooted to the spot. Doing so supplies 1d3 damage per round to the swarm, however, as the strange substances and bizarre combinations keep the miniature bodies trapped and hungry mouths feasting. Swarms that are entirely uninterested in food (such as certain kinds of robots or similar creatures) or swarms that would instantly destroy the food-like substances created (such as certain kinds of oozes) must instead make a fortitude save against the damage and entangled condition. Consuming this food is not recommended when swarms are within it.

The food is (technically) fully edible, and even "nourishing" of a sort. It can (in a pinch) provide food for up to three medium-sized creatures or one large-sized creature for 24 hours per level... though, being unsecured cheese and a non-cured meat-like substance (that can be cooked, but not cured to last longer), it all goes bad in most situations rather quickly. Either way, persisting on nothing but this food for more than a meal or two will cause all people forced to rely upon it to have their attitude shifted down a step toward everyone (this may even stack with the attitude reduction the caster suffers in the first place). Too many meals in a row may even cause blockage and digestion-issues, leaving a -1 penalty on fortitude checks (and, likely, weight gain). A good, solid meal of a kind preferred by a creature otherwise forced to subsist on this for an extended period will cure any bad attitude, however, and eventually clear up any other penalties.

There are a few (extremely rare) people (often considered annoying or unhealthy or both) who actually enjoy this food a great deal and are not necessarily negatively affected by the attitude-shifting portions of this spell.

Post Boxes in Wind Waker

I can't find a single list for this in games online. That's... weird.

The below is a quasi-pseudo-map.

The "X" means a square doesn't have it. The name is a square that does. It goes N on top to S below, and W on the right to E on the left. The "{?}" is Forsake Fortress - I'm not able to go there at this point in the game, hence I can't check. I'm pretty sure it doesn't have it, though.

The "DT" is Deku Tree, a note I'm making for a future quest.

__ __1__, __2__, __3__, __4__, __5__, __6__, __7__
A: {?}, DT, Northern Fairy Island, x, x, x, x
B: x, DT, Spectacle Isle, Windfall Island, x, Dragon Roost Island, Flight Control Platform
C: Western Fairy Island, x, Tingle Island, x, Eastern Fairy Island (DT), x, x
D: x, DT, x, x, x, x, Thorned Fairy Island
E: Needle Rock Isle (DT), x, Stone Watcher Island, x, Link's Oasis (DT), Bomb Island, Bird's Peak Rock
F: x, x, DT, Southern Fairy Island, x, Forest Haven, Cliff Plateau Isles (DT)
G: x, Outset Island, x, x, x, x, x

Short version: NOPE. None of those post boxes were relevant. :/

Welp... I'll keep looking, Piece of the Heart... I'll keeeeeep looking. :D

In your travels, should you run across a Peace of Mind, please send it my way. Sidequest reward: Atomic Alchemical Destructor Gauntlet

Hunting that Peace of Mind:
One of the two dogs I planned to keep (of the seven), and mother of the litter, Mopsie, broke out of her pen Tuesday evening, and was hit on the road shortly thereafter. I had to bury my companion of three years last night after midweek Bible study. It's been a rough couple of days.

I'm so sorry to hear. I've had a similar experience - as the saying goes, dog stories never end well. God bless you and the litter (both those that stayed and escaped).

Super-serious series of questions*:

* Nnnnnnope.

If you could have 1d4 ⇒ 1 different super-powers, what would they be and why?
(Assume corollary powers required to make a given power work are part of it; i.e. Since you'd need super tensile strength/durability to, you know, not-die when you made use of your super-strength power, you get them both when you say "super strength" as a singular option.)
Why?

If, instead, you could be a gestalt of 1d2 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 super heroes, who would you gestalt to be yourself? Why? Which comic universe would you run around in? Would you prefer to be in that one, or this one?

On the other hand: BAM! You just gained 3d6 + 2 ⇒ (2, 4, 1) + 2 = 9 levels in a Pathfinder class (or classes)! Which class(es) do you pick, and why? Incidentally, if you could spontaneously switch races, would you? And if so, to which?

Similarly, you won the super-lottery, and gained mythic tiers! 3d3 + 1 ⇒ (1, 3, 2) + 1 = 7 of 'em! (And you gain class levels to match; please feel free to change your previous answer if this does so for some reason.) What path do you take? (Alternate option: substitute a single tier for a simple mythic template.)

Yet another query: you monster. Specifically, you CR: 1d30 ⇒ 21 (or less) monster! Which are you?! ... and would this have been your first choice? If not, which would be?

But the wheels of fate-time have spun again, and your everything has been transposed into that of someone else! You've just become a prepublished NPC from an official source! Which prepublished NPC is it?

What campaign setting do you run around in? Why?

As a final thing: blend any and/or all of the above questions into a single ginormous question: an optional blend of a prepublished NPC, monster, and some superheroes all walk into a bar... and out comes you, as a gestalt of those guys, the race you choose, some extra superpowers, and have extra class levels and mythic tiers on top! What are you?! (Other than "awesome" - naturally.)

Equipment is a non-issue (like adjunct super-powers; what you need to do <X> is assumed). Also note that any significant others can be brought with you.

"Official" and "Pre-published" are loose terms, but general expect something that has a solid publishing company and identifiable map/world/conceits behind it (like WotC for Forgotten Realms, Eberron, Dark Sun, Greyhawk, etc; or Green Ronin for Blue Rose, but not "True20"; or Paizo for Golarion, or the Maelstrom, or the upcoming Starfinder; but not "the Bestiaries" or "the Planes" or things like that - basically things that people can find and nerd out about with you). Similarly, if it has a solid AP out for it, that, too, is acceptable (like Legendary Planet; or any of Paizo's APs). It should probably be a d20 variant, but it can be whatever you like of those many variants (True20, Blue Rose, Paizo, 3.5, 3rd; etc.). That said, if a Homebrew or otherwise "weak" entry just needs to be there due to compelling reasons... okay. Similarly other systems. Let us know why! Computer and video game translations of such (Neverwinter Nights and/or expansions/sequels; PFO; etc) are acceptable as interpretations as well.

Similarly, for comics, it needs to be superheroes that people can reasonsonably be expected to come across - "that one I made up with my cousin as a kid" is an awesome answer, and worth noting and why, but prrrrooooobabaly isn't the best choice, unless it's just so powerful that you've GOT to. In which case: sure, but bring us along for the ride! Related, the super need not come from one of the "big two" in comics, so long as the people and world is both recognizes me and accessible - choosing The Incredibles world is valid (and awesome), as is Spawn (blech); you're not just limited to Marvel or DC. Similarly "standard" powers need not apply - so long as it is clearly communicable, it's fine (even if all the field specifics aren't clear, that's okay - knowing you're powered by our yellow star is fine; you don't need to know this, but it's acceptable if you do).

Finally, presume you have the basics necessary for a happy life. Your spouse, best friend, and so on, can all be considered to "come with you" (should they choose to do so) wherever it is that you go.

Oh, and one more thing: if you lived through a Legend of Zelda (as one of the Links); which would it be, and why?

Thanks! Enjoy!

Sonar/Brad (Strongfemaleprotagonist universe) // Mera (Prime Earth/New 52/DC Rebirth universe)

I'd probably run around in the Marvel universe, since it's the one neither of my two superhero identities are from. Gotta keep it more confusing for the audience. And...I'd probably still prefer this universe.

Either Maestro or Herbalist, because I enjoy playing Maestros and Herbalists I want life to be fun! Although maybe sorcerer if I got to pick my spells.

My class would still be either Herbalist or Maestro probably, and since I don't have a Caster Level, http://paizo.com/threads/rzs2rwwn?Fighter-going-mythic-Choose-archmage-Here s-why#1]I choose Archmage! I might or might not also grab the Mythic Color Blighted Template (Mythic Monster Manual, page 56). If I'm allowed to pick Mythic Monsters then I would be a Mythic Arbiter (CR 3/ MR 1). My first choice would have been a beholder of some sort.

Quote:

I'd be the unnamed Aundairian changeling rogue 3 from Races of Eberron, page 53.

Okay, I'm back.

Leeet's see, I forgot to answer

Quote:
Incidentally, if you could spontaneously switch races, would you?

Do I only get to pick one race, or do I get to switch as often as I wanted. If the latter, then obviously I'd try it. If I have to pick one, it would probably be a puddling.

Quote:

So...I'm Sonar//Mera. I have the body of a human and the head of a bat with super hearing and can make sounds that knock out foes, and I am running an organization to help biodynamorphic individuals adjust to society, but I am doing it from my position as Queen of Atlantis, and my human body is actually a Xebelian body. And I'm an ooze, which messes all of that up, and I do it all while upholding the Law as a mythic arbiter. The sound I make with my Sonar powers is so magnificent that I get Composition magic, and I can also cast any arcane spell despite not having any arcane powers due to a poorly worded mythic ability.

Since no one can sneak up on Sonar except for Moonshadow, I make a pretty good Aundarian spy in my rogue changeling identity. But since I'm a shapeshifter, the whole metaphour of the struggles of biodynamorphic people in SFP is underwritten by the fact that I can use my changeling powers to look like a normal human. Although I'm still an ooze...unless I cast Shapechange using the archmage ability to assume any other form.
Fortunately, all of that stuff fits perfectly in Questhaven, so I'm okay.

Quote:
Oh, and one more thing: if you lived through a Legend of Zelda (as one of the Links); which would it be, and why?

If you are giving me any of the outlandish superpowers I have in the previous questions, then Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. If I'm that powerful, I'd need an insanely hard game to keep things interesting, and that game is the only one in the series which qualifies as insanely hard.

Otherwise, I'd either pick the original (with Second Quest activated?) or OoT. I've always had a soft spot for the original, even though it is often overshadowed by a Link to the Past. Plus, it's hard to beat the awesomeness of the game being twice as long as they say it is: once you beat the game, play through it again...with all nine dungeons rearranged completely, and with new monsters, and a rearranged overworld!
On the other hand, Ocarina is...well, it's pretty darn special as far as games go. It would be hard not to pick that one.

So, question time: if you could cast one spell in either 1001 spells or the Spell Compendium, which one would it be?

Monstrous Thrall: the power such as that is a horrible burden, but can revolutionize everything for everyone forever. It would be that thing that I'd hope never to use.

And I'd pray that the "monstrous" not refer to me.

Zzzzz....zzzz....zzzzz...

Ask
Me
Anything

It's a shorthand for things like, "Ask James Jacobs all of your Questions Here" or even things like, "Apologize to Chirs Lambertz for all of your Misdeeds Here" or similar. As I understand it, the concept originated in the Reddit community with famous people talking to various folks and answering all sorts of questions; something similar was picked up (and mutated) by the Paizo community into the thing you see before you - even giving me this thread (though technically "questions" aren't in the title of this one, it still falls under "AMA").

That said, feel free to ask questions. The usual disclaimers apply; i.e. you can ask, but I can avoid answering. :)

Syrus Terrigan

Syrus Terrigan, Keeper of the Dreadwatch, and Dread Slayer of Erythnul

1d4 ⇒ 2 Super Powers: super-speed, optic blasts (or maybe Havok's plasma blasts)

Why? Be everywhere, anywhere, on the double-quick, ready to wreck what needs wrecking

Gestalt of 1d2 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 super heroes: Flash/a Summers brother

Why? See above

Which universe? All of them -- I'm too awesome not to be shared

Would you prefer to be in that one, or this one? Yes.

3d6 + 2 ⇒ (2, 2, 1) + 2 = 7 class levels: If we're gestalting, paladin/cleric, paladin/oracle, paladin/sorcerer or slayer/wizard (we did it with superheroes, so why not?). If we're straight-classing, well, paladin, or cleric, or sorcerer. Doesn't much matter which way any of that would go.

Switch races? Nope. I like my bonus feat.

Mythic tier? Never used 'em, so I have no idea.

Monster, CR: 1d30 ⇒ 27: A CR 27 beastie? I don't even know where to start. MegaTarrasque? Godzilla? Azathoth?

Zelda? A Link to the Past, hands down.

EDIT: Had to throw more fuel on the fire.

If you could have 1d4 ⇒ 2 different super-powers, what would they be and why? Greater Invisibility at will and SIGHT BEYOND SIGHT!

If, instead, you could be a gestalt of 1d2 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 super heroes, who would you gestalt to be yourself? Why? Which comic universe would you run around in? Would you prefer to be in that one, or this one? I don't really know anything about super heroes, so I'd make my own where Nicki Minaj was Harley Quinn and I was, I don't know, an immense bee.

On the other hand: BAM! You just gained 3d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 6) = 9 levels in a Pathfinder class (or classes)! Which class(es) do you pick, and why? Rog3/Ftr3/Wiz3, just because I loved the old 1e/2e fighter/mage/thief

Incidentally, if you could spontaneously switch races, would you? And if so, to which? An elf. Duh.

Similarly, you won the super-lottery, and gained mythic tiers! Not really looked into the whole Mythic thing

Yet another query: you monster. Specifically, you CR: 1d30 ⇒ 20 (or less) monster! Which are you?! ... and would this have been your first choice? If not, which would be?H'mmm... Ancient copper dragon with a couple of class levels, and yes, it would, unless there is a CR20 bee.

But the wheels of fate-time have spun again, and your everything has been transposed into that of someone else! You've just become a prepublished NPC from an official source! Which prepublished NPC is it? Possibly Mordenkainen. Possibly Zagyg. Possibly Blackjack. EDIT: Or the Gray Mouser, if he's allowable

What campaign setting do you run around in? Why? Hyboria and Lankhmar are published settings, so one of them. Probably Lankhmar. Greyhawk, if I had to choose a D&D-specific setting

(Other than "awesome" - naturally.) A super magic wizard duellist CR20 elven half-dragon were-bee.

You know... I just now noticed your nametag is "Tactics Lion" written as a single word. oO

To this day I've been mentally reading if it were just a random made up word... And in my head it sounded something like "Tah-ctic-seeleeon" (Like tactic-"zillion", but with an "S" sound).

Also, did you know "AMA" coincidentally means "loves" (as in "she loves cheeseburger") in Portuguese?

Isn't it? I should start a AMA thread just to share these fascinating(ly useless) pieces of trivia. XD
