Believer's Boon - Uses Per Day

OK I have a Druid who qualifies for Believer's Boon

He would like to take this feat with the Growth Domain to gain the level 1 power Enlarge.

Based on the wording of the feat, it seems like he would only gain 1 round per day of Enlarge, which is stupid. It seems the intent would be to gain 3+WIS uses of the ability, which is how Hero Lab interprets it.

Has there been any errata, comments, or updates to this feat that would clear this up?

What wording makes you think it is only 1 round per day?

Believer's Boon specifies once per day rather than "as a 1st level Cleric" or something more generous like that.

Opps, missed that line when reading it. Then yes. Just once per day which would be true of any 3+wis ability or other multi-use ability.

I saw the as a 1st level cleric part, but missed the once per day in the second sentence.

I'm sure it wouldn't hurt a thing to allow the Wis+3 uses though. That is worth a feat whereas a single use, not so much IMHO.

The feat says:
"Once per day, you can use all 1st-level domain abilities granted to clerics of that domain. You gain access to this one ability only"

The first and second sentences make no sense together.
I THINK the first sentence should say "you can use all 1st-level domain ability uses granted to clerics of that domain"

That would make more sense and would match up with the Hero Lab interpretation.

1 round per day is definitely not worth a feat. 3+wis rounds per day is still pretty weak.

Unless you take Wolf domain, which grants you unlimited Improved Trip.

Hmm...this one might be debatable.

"Once per day, you can use all 1st-level domain abilities granted to clerics of that domain...Your effective cleric level in regard to this ability is 1st level."

Wolf domain gives improved trip as a bonus feat (presumably skipping prerequisites).

The feat can be interpreted that you get to use the improved trip feat once per day, or once per day you gain the feat for as long as a 1st level cleric would get it (i.e. permanently). The first would be weak, the second potentially very good for circumventing prerequisites.

Both seem to be equally valid readings to me...

Yeah my question isn't about getting a free feat. I don't think that's the intent of Believer's Boon at all.

I believe it's meant to give you the 1st level power only, similar to Eldritch Heritage. However if you only get a single use of a 1 round power, it is worthless.

I'd just like some confirmation from one of the writers, or at least a PFS GM, on how they would rule it.

It's a 1 use per day and since Growth's enlarge person lasts for 1 round, it only works for 1 round per day.

For your character, it is a very suboptimal choice.

anyone have an example of when this feat would be worth taking?

Wind Subdomain could be a good choice. Ranged bull-rush using Wis instead of Str. Only problem is that the feat uses a CL of 1 instead of your regular CL.

Azata (Chaos or Good) Subdomain is good, no question, but just how good depends on the campaign you're in.

Love Subdomain is good, with the same caveat as Wind.

Community Domain can be good, keeping in mind that even non-casters can take this feat.

Torture Subdomain is straight up fantastic for the right character. Wis to damage, a free Intimidate roll and all the damage from the attack adding to that roll.

Cannibalism Subdomain is evil-only but gives a nice bonus for a whole minute.

Smoke Subdomain is good for making cover. No word on how long the smoke lasts so I assume until the weather changes to disperse it.

Honor Subdomain is good, much like Azata.

Friendship Subdomain is two-way telepathy with an ally for 1 minute. Situationally useful.

Restoration Subdomain is nice.

Memory Subdomain allows for a knowledge re-roll, which may be handy for some classes.

Law Domain is potentially fantastic, allowing a single willing creature to assume they rolled an 11 on every d20 roll in that round.

Loyalty Subdomain lasts an hour.

Freedom Subdomain is pretty nice, lasting 1 minute or until successful, whichever is shorter.

Insanity Subdomain is nice.

Magic Domain and both of its Subdomains are useful in some situations.

Exploration Subdomain is cool but only useful in very specific places.

Deception Subdomain is great.

Isolation Subdomain is great.

Seasons Subdomain lasts an hour.

Yeah, and gaining the ability "once per day" makes no sense for some domain powers, like Protection of Void, which grant flat bonuses to saving throws.

How long does the Void domains +2 insight against mind-affecting effects last? One save? One Round? all day?

The wording of the Feat specifically says you don't get any Bonus Feats granted by the Domain.

If it's only 1/day I still don't think any of those things are worth a feat. However, my PFS DM says it gives me the level 1 power 3+WIS/day, so I'll roll with that.
