Spirit Animal and Wandering Spirit question

Rules Questions

If I have say a Duck for a Spirit Animal and I have as my spirit, Life, and as my wandering spirit, Waves, does my Spirit Animal get the benefits of both spirits? As I am not really seeing a rule that goes against this from working where both spirits apply their benefits to the Shaman's spirit animal.

Wandering spirit is a separate class feature, so I'd say no. It also seems odd from a logic and thematic perspective, and could potentially lead to shenanigans.

"a shaman's spirit animal gains specific abilities, depending upon the type of spirit selected by the shaman using her spirit class feature."

So the answer is, only your spirit class feature, not your wandering spirit class feature, is relevant to your familiar.

Thank you both.

Grand Lodge

You only get the primary (Life) Spirit Animal benefit.
Wandering Spirit says what you get from the Wandering Spirit:
Spirit Ability (Greater at 12th, True at 20th)
Spirit Spells added to your Spirit Magic list.

It doesn't say you get the Wandering Spirit's Spirit Animal ability, so you don't get it.
