I may have missed this, but...

Does the new Venue provide free Wireless? Will there be wireless in the rooms where the gaming occurs?

Because a LOT of folks use PDFs in the cloud - or the online sources, so...

eh?

Unfortunately no, we are not offering free Wifi in the hotel convention spaces.

Oookay... I could ask why not, but I'm sure it costs money.

Is there NOT-free WiFi available?

Oh snap. Good thing I found this thread otherwise I would've shown up and been completely borked.

I'm also one of those that keeps everything on the cloud. I might have to rely on turning my phone into a wifi spot.

2 people marked this as a favorite.

Even in situations where a hotel or space offers free wifi, I've personally found that during conventions its nearly impossible to get a stable connection with so many other people's devices trying to also hop on. Generally, if I can access it, its a perk, but I try to never rely on it.

Based on my convention experience, don't rely on cellular data to work either.

If you're normally accessing wirelessly anyways, you should have the PDF to print out the necessary pages from. 30 minutes at Kinko's and a couple bucks makes a great permanent resource that doesn't require charging.

I do that anyway. But there are always things to look up, and hyperlinked documents are so much easier to work with.

But it is what it is , he said profoundly...

You've got storage space on your tablets... USE it. There are also apps for referencing the SRD material which are cheap downloads eithr at the Apple App store or the Google Play Store. Kindle users are a bit out of luck unless they sideload.

Yes, there should be Pay-to-Use Wifi available in the convention spaces.

I just keep all of my pdf files on my tablet. No WiFi required.
