The General got the kids a Celestial Seasons fruity tea mix package, it's a big big hit.

Sovereign Court

Gross.

by that i mean it's a box of assorted fruit flavored teas, not that they threw it all together like Whopatooli:-)

Be nice, Pan. Their fruity stuff is good.

It's their actual tea that sucks.

(Cap, fruity stuff isn't actual tea. Herbal teas are a misnomer. They're more like herbal infusions.)

Good luck topping this alias!

They're easier to find around here then Mics to drop.

Jason's Deli, a food place I absolutely adore, has unsweetened black currant flavored black tea.

It is disappointing.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Currants are always disappointing unsweetened.

So are currents, but it's still always kind of shocking.

What does O.P.P. stand for?

From a tea perspective, I mean.

Something that usually tastes better than tea.

Unless poor hygiene is involved.

I should probably delete some of those questions then....

I have a black current flavored tea that is absolutely amazing. One of my favorites. Just because one brand is bad doesn't mean they all are

I think the reason it was so disappointing is Jason's Deli is delicious and my previous experience with black currant teas was awesome, so you'd think the combination would be outstanding...but it really wasn't.

Why are the forums so bloody quiet on the weekends?

I now know how to hug, cuddle and fluff the stuffed animals before putting them out, thanks to the step by step illustrated instructions included in every box.

The more you know, I guess:-)

Yoo hoo!

Someone got New Vegas!

And to make it tea related, I shall drink a nice Earle Grey on top o my enemies as i harvest them for food, just like my Dwarven Oracle for Iron Gods (just because you're in a wasteland, doesn't mean you can't have a little taste of civility)

too bad i have to work this weekend:-(

If you want to be awesome, ally with Caesar, because he has a good point. Don't try to kill Vulpus when you meet him unless you've been level grinding, but if you have...well, his men have lots of great gear, but you don't want the Legion pissed at you that early.

Veronica. Is. Amazing. When you see a chick in a cloak at the 188 shop with a power fist, talk to her, don't badmouth the brotherhood, and you have a best friend for life.

Save scrap metal, sensor modules, scrap electronics and...I forget what else. When you get to Primm, early in the game, go in a store next to a dead courier. ED-E is a robot you can fix with those parts (or without with sufficient science and/or repair). He lets you target invisible creatures, and boosts your perception radar as if you had 10.

You can have two companions, one human and one not human.

Rex sucks compared to ED-E.

An explosives optimized character is even more fun than it sounds, especially when you get the grenade machinegun, Annabelle missile launcher, or the gloriously wonderful Red Glare rapidfire rocket launcher with zoom scope...but don't try it in Hardcore mode.

Hardcore mode isn't fun. Tracking your food, water, and sleep is mindless bookkeeping that doesn't add to the challenge, it just makes you add pointless trips back to towns to restock slower.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I'm much too casual a gamer for hardcore mode.

That's some good advice!

Don't like the companion aspect, in theory, mostly because I prefer traveling alone, but we'll see. :-)

My favorite build is to get Joshua's armor with the crit bonus and Boone's cap with the crit bonus ASAP, max my luck, take all the crit edges, laser commando, light touch, and turn people to ash with a tri-beam laser rifle and a scoped laser rifle from a mile away...with further sneak attack crit bonuses from Lily as my companion.

Melee ninja build is tough, but so satisfying when you punch out a deathclaw in three hits with a superheated saturnite fist.

Companions are at the very least self-propelled backpacks. Even the weakest if them is an extra 100lbs.

The faction system is back from FO 2, by the way, so that's nice.

Oh and when I said one human I meant one humanoid...ghouls or mutants count for that category.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I dunno, you should've seen what I've done to everyone who followed me in Skyrim, Captain Kirk would be impressed with the lack of survivability of henchmen. When I leave town with companions in tow, only I return usually. :-)

Also I named my character Captain Yesterday, except in the game I'm a chick, because women are way cooler looking in video games.

If you miss the Chinese stealth suit, for that very reason, you may want to get the Big MT expansion (I can't remember if that's what it's actually called)

Yeah, that ultimate edition, which is what I got, has all the expansions, very excited!

If you're not in Hardcore mode, companion death is just "unconscious" and they wake up when there's no threat.

I like how not everything attacks you as you walk by, I'm considering dropping my canteen once, just to see how long until I die of heat stroke.

A big fan of those little a~#$@*! geckos.

2 people marked this as a favorite.

Wait until you meet golden geckos...or fire geckos...or green.

Geckos, and most of the stuff you see, is holdovers from parts 1&2. 1&2 were California based, so New Vegas has a lot of references.

Don't. Fight. Cazador! There is never just one!

If you see a cazador, you turn around and you find another route!

DO NOT FIGHT CAZADOR!

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I fight everything, once.

I took hoarder and wild wasteland as my first two traits.

I like how guns skills are condensed into one skill. Mostly just wandered about, found Primm and capped a couple of ex-convicts that did not like me rooting thru their s&!@.

I should start a thread for Fallout New Vegas rampaging.

No time now alas.

2 people marked this as a favorite.

Yeah, well ONE cazador isn't a problem. They have low hp and armor, but they're super fast, hit HARD, and poisonous, and always have a swarm around the corner when you think there is only one.

You'll see...and then you'll be pissed that you didn't save soon enough.

Turns out I had enough time to start a thread, just not enough to link to it, it's in video games.

Tea - the moral outrage edition.

That... that is amazing.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Sorry about the delay in replying to that. First I was on my phone, and just couldn't get the link to properly work. Then I could, and I didn't really know what to say at the time.

That's...that's pretty funny. Just goes to show that just about anything can be taken as corruptible.

My wife won a variety pack of European teas in a contest on Swapbot for me! First up was some hibiscus ginger, which was delicious. You wouldn't think the combo worked, but it was awesome.

There are a LOT. This thread will be bumped regularly again, as a result, while I try them all out.

Can't remember the brand, but when I get home, I'll let you guys know, so my European tea drinking compatriots can let me know if I'm drinking the European version of Lipton or not.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Hibiscus ginger sounds good, depending on the strength and style of the ginger. A lighter flavor more like candied ginger I can see being very tasty, while if it goes too sharp I don't think it would really work.

That being said, I don't really care for hibiscus in my tea. It oversteaps before the other flavors have finished and drastically overpowers the other flavors.

Luckily ginger is pretty potent itself so as to not be left in the dust.

It was a very light sweet ginger. A coworker gave me a ginger herbal blend from Tazo that is pretty potent...

..but when I'm out of tea I sometimes just pour ginger powder in a mug with hot water and sugar. I like ginger. My wife is Jamaican, so she got me really into ginger. Before I met her ginger ale was my experience with ginger. She can handle more ginger than I can.

Considering my beard is red and I'm about as white as they come, there's a dirty joke in there.

I love ginger(s). In college I would put 1 inch of fresh ginger through a garlic press into a cup of boiling water. Was delicious. Did the same thing with Ramen to make it palatable.

I often slice root ginger and lemon and have those two together when I have a cold; the garlic press idea's a good one, though :)

I bought some Nepal Charka black tea at the Russian shop recently - it'll be interesting to find out what that's like...

I couldn't find the brand of tea with the hibiscus ginger. It's German. I didn't even know tea was big in Germany (or Dutch or Austrian or something like that...It's definitely got umlats).

Today is a brand called PirMide brand rooibos. Tastes pretty standard for red tea.

Personally, I don't like redheads, so I can honestly say I haven't.

I think we're talking about consumption here, though.
