I've updated Sebastian's profile with more information on personality/motivations and description. Fine to change any traits: I can't check discrepancies between paizo prd and d20pfsrd on this computer unfortunately. I've set out a full description of the Devil's Pact and Priest's Pact feats and Demanding Channel from the Unholy Barrister archetype.

For GM and players:

Chosen one: Traits like this that are for only one god alway make me think why can't other gods have chosen one's. Its kind of why do Paladins have to be LG. Does Gorum god of war not have holy warriors he grants powers too. We can easily replace it. I did miss the part about PRD traits.

I did go light on the background I think switching to Ease of Faith, and Natural Born Leader make more sense for him. He was in a Way of the Wicked game where we just escaped the jail before the game died, so I didn't change the traits, but I like these better.

Made changes to traits. I think it fits much better and a +16 Bluff, and +17 Diplomacy is fitting for someone trained to speak with an elegant tounge when required.

I didn't think stealth to be very fitting, Even in exile he is not making moves in the shadows. He uses he voice to convince those with bluff and diplomacy that his ideas are better and hold weight. He is the type that acts in plain sight. That and his poor dexterity and heavy armor make stealth a poor choice as well. U.M.D could have been a skill taught to him by his father in order to use any lost relics or artifacts that may exist that have been hidden away since the purge or too powerful to have been destroyed.

Pathfinder Adventure Path Subscriber

There might be name discrepancies between Paizo PRD and d20pfsrd.
Also on the Paizo PRD aren´t all traits etc from Paizo, namely not those from Player Companions and other lines.

You can check out Archives of Nethys, they have Paizo stuff, but no 3PP.

GM Aku and Players:

It would fit Kanas personality quite well, if she instead of going to Branderscar never had been caught at all. Possibly she used her sneaky side to strike out on mitran knights and desecrating shrines, churches and holy sites of Mitra, finding her way to Asmodeus on the search for another more worthy power. Or she could have been found on one of those secret trips by the vampire lady. Knowing the church of Asmodeus, most likely she would have set Kana up somehow, so Kana would be in her depth.
Probably Kana was then deployed on several missions for the Cardinal, to prove her worth and trustworthynerss. Scouting out cities, building up networks and conctacs and leading raids. Her talent to disguise herself would also be very useful to infiltrate cities and deal with nobles.

I changed Kana slightly to reflect that and would take Pass for human as feat instead of agile maneuvers and buy an circlet of persuasion.

If you are interested i could also set Kana back to the old character, a kitsune with fox form and realistic likeness, focussing on dominating others either as a sorcerer or lotus geisha bard, the ultimative trickster, tricking others into contracts and slavery, gaining amusement and passion from it. Just like Asmodeus she would rely on appearing as someone else while making the contracts and fooling people. You would never see her in Kitsune form though, only in human form or when she wants to be sneaky as a fox. She would of course lead a vile organisation! That was my original character idea for this AP i played in the first part.

thestrongangel:

What’s the origin of her celestial blood? Mother? Father?

You’ve chosen an interesting setting of skills, bluff, diplomacy, Sense Motive, perception, coupled with other interesting traits such as innocent and Born leader, however, there’s no mention how it took place during her childhood.

From what you told, it seems rather bleak and someone with that much presence wouldn’t be have more impact in those around her, for good or ill?

Also, her motives for being evil is revenge? You mentioned in a PM her heal objectives. Don’t you think it is more like a CE thing? I mean, destruction because he is angry seems just something someone that don’t care for order would do. LE has a different vision of things, in my point of view.

Also, your history fits something just beginning her career as Druid. Don’t forget however you have a level 7 character and even if your character isn’t know, there should be several accomplishments for good or evil. What you think she done during her life to attract attention from an orderly wicked cult with a well defined agenda?

Tanner Nielsen:

Would you elaborate more how his dealings was after he killed the Mayor? What he accomplished that would make an evil organization seek him out to help them with their wicked agenda?

Also, I see you practically dropped CHA to use INT instead through a careful selection of traits, if those aren’t available for selecting, how would you change your character, and how you thing it would affect it in general?

BigBenClockTower:

In a continent where Asmodeus faith is banished, and their followers hunted down, you stated she set out to become a paladin. It was her choice, not a calling or anything, the chose to forsake mitra and serve the dark prince.
Where did she found this knowledge? Where she trained? Without a god’s calling, learn to become a bearer of evil isn’t something easy to do.

Also, where did she acquired such clearly evil items such a cruel sword and a dastard fullplate?

Another things: You said she was skilled with a sword, but her first class is an oracle, which does not give proficiency with sword, more than that, she has the blackened curse, which makes even harder to manipulate a weapon. Don’t you thing it’s controversial to says she was skilled with a blade?

Last question: What could she have done to get the attention of the last high priest of Asmodeus in Talingard? The man is busy and his mind is often on important matters, what could her to do pick his interest?

Dan E:

Actually, I liked it! Nothing much to ask or comment over you backstory.
It explain the source of his power, choice of feats and his connection with the cardinal.
The trait Divine Protection though won’t do. You can’t take that trait at level 1.

Agrippa just told me this is a feat. '-'

Vincent Fleming:

Humm, can you elaborate more about his race and from where he came? You background mentions nothing about it.

Also, the motivation described in your background sounds more like CE than LE.

“I’m angry, I’m gonna destroy it all!”

What do you think makes this character be able to work in group? Also, what did he do to get attention from an organization with a wicked agenda?

Don’t you think that his destructive nature would be something that instead of picking the cardinal interest would make the cardinal be sure to avoid any connection, to avoid exposure?

The Exchange

I wish you guys well with choosing however I did not get sufficient time to do this game justice.

Good Luck

DM Aku:
Celestial blood origins I would probably say would be paternal, probably not directly. Maybe a generation or two before the current generation in game. The celestial origins that I see here I would like to think of her as a fallen angel. Someone that started out with a lot of good things going for her, but the dark descent after the horror she witnessed consumed her.

Her skill set I think is a combination of two things. First of all, she would have learned her natural skills such as survival, perception and such from the druids as a whole. Her particular archetype is often branded as a lore keeper, and so my thoughts are that she took a particular liking to a specific druid, at this point not named, that would have started training her on speaking with people, teaching her about the nobility and the local peoples. How to converse with both high born and low born. The innocence comes from her celestial heritage, and is something that she channels. In her eyes, the innocence of the druids was violated when the Mitrans killed them without reason or provocation, and lost her own in the process. I suppose that the trait would refer to her desire to just go back to how it was all before, like none of this ever happened. Her vow to her fallen friends was that she would visit the fires of nature on the house of Mitra until it crumbled to ash twice over for burning their glade and their members and utterly destroying them.

When I envision this druidic circle, I am thinking that her mentor may have been an advisor to the Victor or his Nobles in matters of natural importance, such as how to farm without harming nature, how to hunt responsibly, how to harvest trees while replanting to keep the forest lively and thriving. In this case less of a naturalist and more of a conservationist. This person being her mentor, she would not have had as much training with how nature works in its innermost ways, but rather how to express in respectful and meaningful ways how to best live in harmony with nature. I also see in my mind where she might have accompanied her mentor, let's name him Lorian Silverstar, listening to how he spoke, what words he used, how he "worked a room" all while trying to represent nature which was his primary concern. Much of her understanding and learning in that vein as a druid would have been learning at the feet of a lorekeeper and skilled diplomat, having been taken on because he saw her natural abilities to speak and be heard. This sort of bond that formed at a young age, and so she apprenticed herself to him. With this happening, my guess is that the Mitrans probably burned him alive in front of her, and that is what sparked her desire to seek revenge.

I certainly see her having an impact on others around her. I see Kitara as probably moving up through banditry more than anything. She has her skills in diplomacy that she learned at a young age, but she also has to gain her strength and learn to fight. Her bond with the more malevolent aspects of elemental fire lean her towards the explosive and angry combatant when she is in battle, but she also has a sensible head on her shoulders. I could even see her organization that she leads now as one that she worked her way up through the ranks, and took over leadership from someone else, either through natural succession or by force. This could also have given her the chance to repurpose the organization to fit her needs, taking them from a loose association of bandits to a well oiled machine after a fashion.

I had not thought through much of her past level 1 accomplishments, but things that I know she would be doing: Raiding small villages, burning and destroying the Mitran enclaves she finds, perfecting her skills of persuasion by trying to ingratiate herself among the upper classes and nobility of society, building her organization (unnamed at the moment) which she is using both as an arm of martial power to enact her raids as well as an info/espionage organization. Once she stumbled into her ability to shapeshift, it just gave her more confidence to infiltrate and also gather information that operatives might not be capable of gathering for fear of discovery. I think that the culmination of her current things, aka how she got her funds and also how she gained her infamy, would have been the systematic underminding, and finally destruction of the town and the abbey of Mitra that was nearby her home that made the attack on the circle years before.

I do not think that her goals that I laid out in the PM are CE. Her ultimate goal, what she wants deep down inside is two things. She wants to first punish and eradicate the Mitrans that killed and executed her friends and her mentor Lorian. Her second goal is to return the island to the natural order, rather than the order of civilization. Arguably, her second goal is the same thing that the Asmodeans are trying to accomplish but with a different outcome. They are trying to overthrow the Mitrans and replace them with themselves as the ruling class. Kitara simply wants to replace the rule of the Mitrans with Nature's rule and Nature's Laws.

All that said, Druids often times, whether good or evil, seek to restore balance. In her mind, the Mitrans destroyed the entire circle, burning them at the stake. Thus to her, justice, the rightful means to balance this, is to visit the same punishment on the mitrans. To balance the scales. This being the law of nature and druidic faith, that balance needs to be kept, is what I am thinking her driving motivation is. She is less focused on cruelty, and more just focused on visiting her revenge on those that killed her innocent friends for no reason.

While I don't like spinning too much yarn into things I may not even be chosen for, I did leave some glaring holes relating to my character, huh?

Sorry if this is long!

Q: In a continent where Asmodeus faith is banished, and their followers hunted down, you stated she set out to become a paladin. It was her choice, not a calling or anything; she chose to forsake Mitra and serve the Dark Prince. Where did she find this knowledge?

Answer:

Growing up in Mitra's church, she was early on exposed to Asmodeus and all of the evils he brought forth. She was also raised and taught about him in a most dark and unflattering light. This however made it more tempting for her when she decided she had had enough of the church, and wanted to separate herself from it.

Her father had taught her in the past about Paladins of Mitra, and all the good things they did, but he himself would never want to bind himself in that way. This commentary ultimately influenced her to become a Paladin (since her father would never attempt to do it, meaning it would be a way to demonstrate herself separate from his legacy).

Since he'd never betray Mitra, and would never become a Paladin, Jirara saw an easy way to create a path she could go that none could compare her to her father on, and thus dropped her whole facade of worshiping Mitra once her father died.

In short, she was taught all of her information by others, and was twisting it to apply it to her own goals. This was before she acquired a copy of Asmodeus' Unholy Text, however, which I'll get to in a moment below.

Q: Where did she train? Without a god’s calling, learn to become a bearer of evil isn't something easy to do.

Answer:

She was not the only individual to betray the church that day. She had a close friend since childhood whom was always a bit corrupt. He was the one who initially pushed Jirara to defect, even in the early days. He left when she did, and traveled with her for a time, being her primary consultant and training partner (since he was quite studied on Asmodeus, thanks in part to his former standing in Mitra's church, and his own secret and illicit studies).

However, her powers were likely awakened when he gifted her an Unholy Text for Asmodeus, and made a routine trip into a nearby village while she read it. He never returned to their camp that evening, and Jirara only assumed he was torched by Mitran fanatics who caught him. This angered her, and made her swear fealty to Asmodeus that she would purge Mitra's church for their constant transgressions towards her.

Her first act of revenge leads into the next question's answer.

Q: Also, where did she acquire such clearly evil items, such as a cruel sword and dastard full plate?

Answer:

She went to the village herself, still fuming, and found a small, but dedicated, church devoted to Mitra building there. She herself went in and trashed the church (as well as a number of the people in there) as her first major act in service to Asmodeus.

It was during her little raid that she discovered the items, a sword unlike others she has seen, it was large, proud, and malicious in design. Claiming it, she also discovered her partner's burned remains, and the intimidating suit of armor that was there beside his body, which she claimed as well.

Donning the items, she moved to bury her longtime friend, and found a note on his body, explaining the purpose of the armor and blade discovered. They once belonged to another Antipaladin, and were not ordinary, or so the note read, confiscated to be destroyed. She took the note with her, intent on studying it to understand the properties of her items. Finally, she did something where she could not be compared to her father!

Q: You said she was skilled with a sword, but her first class is an oracle, which does not give proficiency with swords. More than that, she has the blackened curse, which makes even harder to manipulate a weapon. Don't you think it's controversial to say she was skilled with a blade?

Answer:

With a new blade, a new purpose, and a new goal, she began her own practicing, every day, several times a day. Her training developed into her own style that resembled the way one would use a bludgeoning weapon. Her father wasn't ever great with anything beyond a mace (thus making her mad that people said he was skilled in fighting too), so if she could outperform him with his style, then she was doing it right.

The large blade was initially difficult to wield, but as an Antipaladin, she eventually honed herself enough to not be completely inept. Compared to the average swordsman she encountered whom sought to bring her to justice, she was still incredibly skilled. Learning to overcome her weakness from Mitra's burning curse is the ultimate end goal of her training, and she'd gladly train for life it it helps her further Asmodeus' goals.

Daily training and intensive practice / application can overcome quite a bit.

Q: What could she have done to get the attention of the last high priest of Asmodeus in Talingard? The man is busy and his mind is often on important matters, what could she do to pick his interest?

Answer:

Her training meant traveling, and her constant encounters with bounty hunters and inquisitors only served to hone her lethal and fast style with the large blade. Her unique method of using it was quite capable of catching others off guard, and contributed highly towards her prowess as a warrior.

Her beliefs in Asmodeus' ideals also worked her more towards the Lawful side of things. Manipulation became a key part of what she did, and anything she could not talk through was then solved with a spell and a blade. Although she partnered with others from time to time, she was mostly a solo act, and the number of feats she accomplished grew quite a bit.

Rumors of her past as a priestess for Mitra also began spreading, as she demonstrated quite intricate knowledge of the church and its structure in her machinations. Although some still whisper that her father's genes and legacy are manifesting in her versatile skillset, they don't say it to her face; she is her own woman.

It is these qualities that likely make her renowned enough to be of interest to many Asmodean followers.

Sorry for the text walls; I hope I answered the questions well!

Ach, forgive me on the plot holes on my character. I was a bit quick with the write up to try and make it in time with the deadline so close and not a lot of time for me to work on it. I'll see if I can answer all those for you and do it some justice.

Early Life:

His race and where he originally hailed.
I left the bit about where he hailed from obscure I'll admit because I don't know the Geography of this Path very well but I shall do a bit of elaborating to the best of my ability all the same.

As a young Kit (forgive the pun) he grew up with his little tribe up in the northern portion of the southern woods of the Caer Bryr. Staying far enough away from the towns themselves that grow up bordering the woods, they lived in peace for the first few years of his life. They enjoyed their dips into the civilized world often enough, never staying too long to get notice for fear of being known for what they were. It was during one of these outings that a local town watchman got suspicious of them and chose to follow them. He saw them change and fearing their monstrous look came back to town and formed an angry mob to deal with them. The few that lived managed to carry young Guaril along with them. He was still young so they didn't tell him at first of what happened to his parents, but eventually one of them broke down and spoke to him of the event. He ran from them, entering the world of man with intent to study them closely and get revenge.
It was there that he met the Caravan and made friends over time. He soon forgot that purpose and began to see and enjoy the life that the caravan led, going from town to town, staying for a while but never too long, much like his tribe did before. He enjoyed that life, but still feared to show his Kitsune side for fear of the situation coming up again.

Motivation:

I didn't do the motivation justice I suppose. Though, I do admit he has a bit of a chaotic side to him, he is driven in his purpose to overthrow the government of Talingarde. Their view on all things monstrous needing to be put down is what he hates most. True, he can pose as a human but he hates the need. Taking down the government, making them turn on their own people to incite an upheaval and show them that humans are monsters too.

Becoming and being a part of the group:

While he could be considered a bit volatile, his ability to change his face, blend into a crowd, turn them against the milita, and slip away makes him a useful person. He knows the need for a group if he wants to do anything big, though he is proud of the little riots he has managed to start in the past...the fact of the matter is that he won't be able to achieve his goals unless he manages to get the attention of a group that is looking to do the same thing or something similar.
Now as far as attracting the Cardinal's attention. Hmm, I will admit I haven't had the chance to read what the adventurers had been upto. Let's see, I would assume that he managed to get the attention of the Cardinal by diluting the forces of good that were attacking the "dungeon" from the outside. Seeing that his ability to draw a crowd, and bend them to do his bidding could be a very useful tool. Useful enough perhaps that if he could direct those talents towards his own goals, then it might be worth taking a chance and if it doesn't go well...well, the Kitsune's secret form might make excellent fodder for him to give up as a scapegoat to pull suspicion off of his own hide or his group.

I hope that answers all the questions well, if you have anything else lemme know. I hope that I better explained my character for you and your group.

Grand Lodge

Okay, so here is the fluff for my submission... Zoe, a human Cleric of Asmodeus, using the Unholy Barrister Archetype. She was originally designed for a WotW game, so her old stat block is here, but I can re-roll if need be.

Stat Block:
Female Lawful Evil Human Cleric (Unholy Barrister), Level 3, Init +2, HP 27/27, Speed 30
AC 12, Touch 12, Flat-footed 10, CMD 14, Fort +4, Ref +3, Will +7, CMB +2, Base Attack Bonus 2 (+2 Dex)
Abilities Str 10, Dex 15, Con 12, Int 16, Wis 18, Cha 18
Condition None
Traits Sedition, Sacred Conduit
Feats Reach, Extra Channel & Selective Channel

Physical Description:
Reference Image

Zoé is a moderately tall young woman, possessing long raven black hair, pale alabaster skin and dark blue eyes. Though not physically strong, she is nevertheless well conditioned and athletically able.

Without question, Zoé is woman of unquestionable allure, though it is a sullen, dark and mysterious beauty she possesses. Her expression is generally demure and rueful, but such coyness is merely an affectation that hides an extremely confident, brilliant and strong personality.

In better times, Zoé preferred flowing and luxurious robes of red velvet. The color suited her well, and was also a common color of choice among those of her religious affiliation. She typically adorned herself with tasteful silver jewelry, and only a minimal amount of makeup that compliments her beauty.

Physical Attribute
Height: 5'9
Weight: 118 lbs
Hair: Raven
Eyes: Dark Blue

Personality:
First impressions of Zoé can be somewhat cool, though the reality is that Zoé is merely just cautious with people she has never met. Allies would describe her as affable though somewhat cynical and occasionally cruel with her wit. Zoé is capable of being extremely outgoing and magnetic when it suits her, which is often when she displays her dark, somewhat morose sense of humor.

More likely though, people would simply agree that Zoé is a woman possessing an exceptional mind. Ever since a young age, Zoé showed signs of brilliance, mastering numerous languages and showing an affinity for her studies. Eventually she turned her attention towards the law, a field of study which suits her logical and legalistic mind well.

Background:
Zoé is the younger of two children born to Lord Rémi and Lady Clarisse Harman, an aristocratic family traditionally loyal to House Barca and worshippers of Asmodeus. While the Victor and his descendants now ruled in Talingarde, they had struck a conciliatory note with allies of the Barca in order to ensure peace; this agreement allowed the Harman to retain their wealth and privilege, albeit at the cost of their influence and renunciation of their allegiance to the Dark Prince. While outwardly accepting and supportive of the devout Mitran regime of the Markadian, the Harman family has always harbored sympathies for a return of the Barca, and has even secretly plotted against the Markadian whenever the opportunity has presented itself as it did under during the great purges of Markadian IV.

Being born to the wealthy elite in Glastenhall, Zoé and her older brother Damian were raised with luxury and privilege. As such, Zoé was given many opportunities that many could only dream of, and due to her keen intellect and an affinity for her scholastic studies, she excelled at all of her pursuits. While her brother pursued a martial path and was trained in the art of war, Zoé went to college and trained as a barrister and a diplomat, and joined the court of Markadian V with her father. It was at this time she learned of the dark past of her family, her father revealing the true nature of the Harman allegiance to Asmodeus. Never a fan of the Markadians, both Zoé and Damian took to secretly worshipping the Dark Prince as their forebears had, and joined their father in covertly working against the rule of Markadian V.

Working within the royal court by day, Zoé and her her brother joined secretly with fellow Asmodeans and those simply fed up with the Markadian to bring back the Barca. Their seditious operations grew in scale and ambition, starting out with simple raids on tax collectors but growing eventually to outright attacks on government institutions and the Markadian family itself. It was during a particularly ambitious plan to kill everyone in the royal court with an explosion that Zoé and her fellow conspirators were finally discovered. The trial lasted but a day, and the Zoé was deemed a traitor and heretic, and was sentenced to die along with her brother. In order to save the family fortune, her parents disowned them in public, and re-affirmed their allegiance to Markadian and claimed no knowledge of their children’s treachery. While upset, Zoé understood why her parents did what they had to, though her broœther was less forgiving. Both siblings were sent to different prisons before their sentence would be carried out; presently Zoé is waisting away in Brandescar awaiting her fate.

I shall be reading the gameplay for the rest of the day, just to familiarize myself with what has happened in case.

I'm ending recruitment some minutes earlier.

I'll not have time to ask Calinthas questions, as I did with the others, but that will not reduce his chances.

As I proposed to my players, I’ll look at each application/player and for this first moment see the ones that fit my requirements (Min/max, irregular posting rate, on-liners, yada, yada) and create a list and send for the players to choose their favorite. With that in mind, I’ll make the final decision.

I appreciate the time and effort each of you put into this, and I’m sorry for not being able to recruit everyone.

It may take a day or two to post the results. :)

Sorry, just got caught up too much in school to finish my submission.

Good luck to all!

I'm putting some of the finishing touches, but two last questions Aku:

1. Is the Leadership Feat allowed? I'm fine if it isn't, but it's a nice addition in this AP with the whole criminal organization thing.

2. Is it too late to roll the focus foible? Again, I just used the 25pt buy above, but I'd like to try in any event... again, not a big deal if not.

FF if allowed:

Foible Strength: 8+2 racial
Dexterity: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
Constitution: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
Intelligence: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Focus Wisdom: 18
Charisma: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15 +1 at 4th

DM Aku:
Would you elaborate more how his dealings was after he killed the Mayor? What he accomplished that would make an evil organization seek him out to help them with their wicked agenda?

After murdering the town aldermen following his foster mother's death at the pyre, Dieter fled to the capital. Geographic distance, combined with operating under a series of false identities, has maintained his relative anonymity. He used his skills in Bluff, Knowledge (local), and Linguistics to imitate accents and fabricated backgrounds when needed.

He started off by becoming a drug manufacturer. Using his skills with alchemy, he became a supplier of flayleaf, honeydust, euphorica, and other illicit substances to distributors and gangs throughout the capital and surrounding region. With his intellect and persuasive abilities, it was a natural transition from making drugs, to take over distribution and sales. Transporting drugs led to transporting other dangerous items such as poisons, alchemic reagents, spell components, unholy symbols and relics, and sometimes even people. In time, Dieter has established one of the largest smuggling operations in Talingarde. He is *this* close to having the network and contacts necessary to transport far more dangerous things, such as weapons and magic items in sizable quantities.

This network would be at the disposal of the Ninth Knot. Perhaps they need drugs, poison, weapons... or a very large quantity of black onyx? Dieter knows how to find a supplier, set up a dummy mercantile interest, a series of third-party buyers, and where to bribe and blackmail so that a stead quantity arrives with no one the wiser. As a man named Andy once said, "I understand you're a man who knows how to get things."

Also, I see you practically dropped CHA to use INT instead through a careful selection of traits, if those aren’t available for selecting, how would you change your character, and how you thing it would affect it in general?

I know right? Between the Empiricist archetype, Student of Philosophy, and Bruising Intellect, you can trade Charisma for Intelligence in many skills.

If you think its too much cheese... I would understand. I love the build, and I am excited at the prospect of playing a cold yet convincing character who uses brutal logic rather than emotion. If I had to, I would rearrange my ability scores to retain my social skills so I can keep the character concept. I would REALLY love to keep it as-is, but it is not essential.

Thanks for waiting and I apologize for any delay.

Wasn’t an easy choice, and I was tempted to recruit more than I set at the beginning but in the end…

I would like to invite Dan E with his submission Sebastian Mayer and Ashe with Lord Cedric Barca to report into Discussion thread so we can finish up your characters.

For everyone else, once again, thanks and happy gaming.

grats to the successful applicants.
