I was looking for a similar thread to offer my 2 coppers worth...
I would like to see
- An easier way to make dice rolls. Some buttons would be good with the most common ones
- Emoticons could be good and add some fun.
- Not to be "lazy", but...Buttons for all the standard text (Bold, italic, quotes, url, etc.)
- GM or player rating system?...this one very much debatable.
- Programmable macro buttons that a player or GM could set to make their most common rolls i.e. Party initiative/Perception checks, combat rolls etc.
- Anyone anything to add?

I like those, Stetrix! Well, everything except the GM/Player rating system. Rating systems are so subjective and they could be hurtful.
Here's my number one request... Have the system remember your default character ID for each separate gameplay thread.
In my case, I would like it to remember Twitchy in my We Be Goblins game, and Nefertiti in my Razor Coast game, and Hmm everywhere else.
I cannot tell you how many times I've seen people post in pbp not as their character, but as their main Paizo ID.
Also, I'd love for you to be able to edit which ID you are posting from after the one hour timeout. Not the content... just the persona! This would be so helpful for the absent-minded amongst us.

I think my big ones would be remembering the default character ID and buttons for standard formatting (and, sure, dice rolls).
I also wouldn't mind editing after an hour. I understand why it's not OK, but I hate when I'm looking back at an old post and notice a typo. Drives me so nuts (not to mention changing IDs too).

Yeah, that would be useful. The ability to "hibernate" aliases so they no longer show up in the 'post as' pulldown menu would also help me for all those abortive or unsuccessful PBP attempts.

I would like so see some prefab coding. Even if it's just the brackets like: [dice=]1d20+ [/dice, (close bracket) that would save boat loads of time.
I run some fast paced 30-50+ posts a day games and that would be time save.
As the OP mentioned a button for standard text (bold, italiac, url) who be useful.

I completely second the ability to tag an alias as 'inactive' so it doesn't appear in the drop down list, or some other way to better manage NPC aliases. It would be nice to create a new alias for major NPCs, pets, and even summonables without cluttering up the standard posting alias list.
Better integrated character sheets for Pathfinder games would be nice too.

These are great ideas and I've favorited my, well, favorites.
The only things I have to add are greater stability and the ability to underline. The first is going to happen with time as they improve infrastructure (so I'm told) but the latter might be an easy addition (?)
Inline images would be great too, but I can keep linking to Google Docs for that, so there's no hurry. :)
I'm sure if I sat down and thought about it, I could come up with a longer list, but what's been mentioned so far, and these trifles, would make me very happy for now.

I would add an align code (center, justify and so on) and in general a few more formatting options, as the abovementioned ability to underline your text.
I would also like to have a daily posting rate counter: that would make the "stalking" part of a recruitment as a GM (as detailed in Painlord's guide) so much easier. Of course, when a campaign is marked as inactive that count should be ending. A posting rate counter for each alias would be the dream.

I agree with most things here except the pictures in posts thing, it eats a lot of bandwidth and loading speed, so some people could have problems with it, unless there is an option to turn it off.
* A profanity filter that can be turned off in our account option, basically, when it is on, you see (and quote) a bunch of weird characters, when off, you see the words as they were/are written. Default On for visitors / non-logged in users.
* Ability to make "Invite Only" Gameplay and Discussion threads/topics, so only the invited posters can read and post there.

Aesthetically:
I think a "signature" for each alias would be nice; a place you could dump all the things people currently put in the tagline, and more. I'm not a fan of using the taglines for this at all. I think it's a solution that works, but is aesthetically unpleasing.
I would also like it if the different tabs had the same rules in regards to code-prose. Some tabs follow different rules that I think look dumb. Examples like line distance and lists that don't jump into the post for clarity. (like in the gameplay tab, god that's frustrating)
Quality of life:
spoilers within spoilers.
Macros. Instant paste-in of saved text you use often, such as attack and damage rolls, saved to your alias. This could stand in completely for the signature idea above.

Another vote for different default aliases for different threads and being able to mark aliases as inactive so they don't show up in drop down lists. Those would be the big two for me - I actually really don't mind not having inline images or signatures. They can lead to a lot of clutter, especially if people begin to misuse them.

It sounds like the next feature I add to my browser extension should be default aliases by game... it's been on the docket for a while, but hasn't ever been a super-high priority.

I just released a new version of the Chrome extension with the new Alias Selector feature. Have a look!

I made a request for a something along these lines....almost two years ago...
Actually it was more like an enlargeable tab so we could fit more stuff in more easily.

Thanks for the suggestion—we've got some improvements to PbP and campaigns planned and will take a look at this when we get closer to implementing them.
Seems there haven't been any changes to PbP's since then...
