A Vault of the Onyx Citadel question, if I may: in the threatened case of the Vault of the Onyx Citadel landing on Molthune and Nirmathas, how high up were you envisioning it appearing ? Teleporting in at ground level, or dropping from high enough to squish buildings rather than materialise through them? (I am presuming it won't be dropping from high enough to imitate Earthfall because that seems less than good for the inhabitants) Also, how much thickness of surrounding Plane of Earth would it bring with it; would we end up with the mapped base of the Vault overlaying Molthune and Nirmathas, or something that looks from the outside like a gigantic rock?

Thank you for this most enjoyable AP, and a good New Year to you and yours.

Apologies, I didn't realize this thread was still going.

For the Vault, I imagined it mostly as a transposition, with the vault appearing more or less at group level and just showing things asside or crushing them as part of the arrival, more than dropping from a great height.

I don't see any great thickness of the Plane of earth being brought along. If anything, probably the outer edge of the vault would get left behind in the teleport.

All that said, your table and your story, so you can add whatever elements you want to make the story more dramatic or your world more interesting.

No worries, I still appreciate the answer.

We'll see about that

How old is Eutropia supposed to be?

Here I made some speculation based off of art (always a dubious and dangerous proposition) and some off-hand comments, as well as the actual firm information we have (how'd I do? Any obvious logic-fails?), but I'd be curious if there was an official "age" she's "supposed" to be at when the AP starts.

I recognize that we have a home game and can do whatever we want. I'm always eager to hear the official stuff, however! So cool!

Oy!

Realizing that following weird links might be a no-no for some employees^, I'll just copy/paste:

^ EDIT: I mean, it's only elsewhere on this site (specifically FaWtL), but I think Mr. Jacobs mentioned not wanting to get in trouble some how, once, so I'll just go the safe route. :D

<snip>

* Spoiler free analysis: this would be a very tricky thing, time-wise, as Eutropia has been noted as having been in politics for the last 20 years, but is clearly not a 40+ year-old-woman, and was older than her long-deceased brother, who was noted as being a teen at the time of his death - that makes him a minimum of 13, and probably puts her at least 2 years, but more like 3-5 based on the one picture of her, her baby brother, and their dad. So 15+20 = 35 (up to 38; this is on the high end, though, again, this is all just speculation based on art, which they've made numerous references to when adjucating rules in the past, sooooo, I'unno). Anyway, if she had a child in her youth, but still technically being an adult (at about 16 years old), that child could be 16 years old by the time she's 32 - with a 36-year-old projection, that lets us have two extra years for each, allowing an 18 year old starting-age for any daughter and giving-birth-age for Eutropia, with actual leeway a couple of years either way, which actually feels about right.

:)

You also might not have a specific answer, and that's fine, too - I was mostly just curious what the thought was, or if I was missing something somewhere.

Crystal,

Among the new rules of PF2 revealed so far, what is your favorite?

First of all, I've been enjoying reading Spiral of Bones. It's well written with a compelling story. I generally don't read a lot of comic books anymore as I simply don't have the time. The Glorious life of a Security Guard. Overworked, underpaid, and unappreciated. I do have a couple of questions, though. First, the soul-swap gem that Valeros touched at the end of the first issue. Is it solely your creation, or did something else inspire you? And second, how would such an item be created in the game.

I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series. Thank you for all the hard work. I'll hang up now and listen for the answers. :D

Post number 11. 1011 (Binary) = 11. Just a little programmer humor. Because I'm bored right now.

... seeeeeeems my guestimation was off! Just a bit! Whoops!

That said, is there a canon age for Eutropia? Or, rather, I guess I should be asking, is there a canon "age range" that she's expected to be?

(Also, WftC is pretty awesome! Thanks!)

Hi Crystal,

I'm sure you're terribly busy, but I am in search of a magic item without a source at present. We just finished running your excellent Between the Stacks adventure from Midgard Tales. There is one item in the loot that has me confounded, as I cannot find a source or description.

Do you remember where "Mirvan's Spear Trodding Boots" came from?

Thanks in advance.

I know this is old news, by now, but I'm sorry to have seen you leave! WotR, II, and WftC all seem phenomenal, and your contributions have been wonderful to read in them as I prep for ever-more awesome gaming. Thank you!

Before I ask any questions I just wanted to thank you for the spectacular job you did with Ironfang Invasion and War for the Crown!

Do you have any advice for my 14 year old daughter about to embark into 9th grade in a few weeks.

Crystal, I have several questions to ask, but I'm not sure if you will continue answering questions here now that you are no longer a member of Paizo. Will you continue give us answers?

Smoothly pretending that you will answer, despite evidence to the contrary ('cause busy and not as relevant to you, in all likelihood), what awesome secrets can you divulge about the new version of the Blue Rose setting?!

(I've already asked Mr. Schnieder about the Orchard of Tears which I'm pretty sure wasn't previously published, and after asking Mr. Stephens, he mentioned that you were working with Green Ronin, too!)

Hey guys -- FYI, Crystal hasn't posted on ANY Paizo forum for a year and a half now.

It looks like she's made a pretty clean break. That happens sometimes; people get new jobs and move on. But I wouldn't expect her back any time soon, if ever.
