PFS: can a Half Orc choose an Orc-only archetype?

Advice

Grand Lodge

I am not too sure on this one.

I'm kinda digging witches, and then I saw the Orc Scarred Witch Doctor. They sub out INT and you can use CON as your casting stat. Half Orcs can start PFS with a 20 CON.

I thought this sounded like a cool and powerful character.

I just want to know if it's legal before I go any further.

TIA.

Yes

Half Orcs can take orc or human only feats, archetypes, etc.

The Scarred Witch Doctor archetype itself is not PFS legal though, as far as I am aware. Check with the additional resources page...but yeah, that is not too surprising.

I don't play PFS but it is my understanding you cannot choose a race specific archetype/feat/ability for the ARG unless you are that specific race. I believe that is a PFS rule and not a general rule.

PFS does not allow the orc section of the ARG in which you find the Scarred Witch Doctor. If you can find an Orc only archetype from a usable source, a 1/2 orc can take it.

RAW is that Half Orcs can take Human and Orc options, but this does not apply in PFS.

Dark Archive

RAW is that half-orcs can take human and orc options. This even extends to Favored Class Bonuses.

The only limitation is whether or not the archetype is allowed under Additional Resources. In the case of Scarred Witch Doctor, it was not allowed last time I looked.

Shadow Lodge

For PFS, no.
