DM-Camris' Iron Gods fast recruitment

Recruitment

DM-Camris here, REOPENING recruitment for two more players!

- 20 point buy with 7/18 being the min/max for each stat before racial mods.
- Almost all paizo material is legal for races and classes. I say almost because when i was prepping, i realized that even though this is iron gods and its set in the techno-fantasy realm of Numeria, aliens are still really freaking rare so I'd prefer if you didn't play as one though a kick ass backstory might sway me.
- 2 traits, one campaign. You can also take a drawback for an extra trait if you want.
- average starting gold.

We’re just on the way to the initial encounter, so this recruitment will only be open a day or two.

Currently the team is:
_Doctor Rhaym
Male Human (Azlanti) Alchemist (chirurgeon) L1
_Lilly Peregrine
Female Human (Varisian) Warpriest (Iomedae) L1
_R@mshackle
N/A Android Gunslinger (Techslinger) 1
_Sophia VanderMoot
Fem Sorcerer (Sage Bloodline) L1

And one other to be determined, but looking fighter-ish. Also, Haven’t heard from Sophia lately, so she might be out.

You can see our campaign HERE.

I've got a ratfolk spellslinger that I submitted to a game on another site that died before it ever had a chance to live.
He can be found here: Skivven

The only alterations I'd need to make would be to copy him over to the paizo site and buy a bit more gear if you're using average wealth rather than his awful roll.

would you allow this class?

I would like to submit this guy to join you. I will have to level him back down to level 1, but that won't be difficult. I had him in the beginnings of an Iron Gods campaign PbP for a little while but the group was just not meshing well and I also wasn't a fan of the GM's style, so I dropped. If you'll have me, I'd be happy to try again. :)

How about a cleric? Boom lemme throw one together!

Dark Archive

I would be interested in Exploring the Idea of an Android that doesn't know they are such. Very Blade Runner-ish.

Would this Be something too Far Fetched for this Campaign?

Class is TBD, or can fill in Whatever is missing, Mostly interested in exploring this type of Background.

Dark Archive

Here is my Concept;

Thomas Eldrich Android Paladin of Brigh 1

As Long as he (how his Father Identifies him) can remember, he was worked at His Father's mobile Forge around the Mouth of the the Purple Flame. Thomas has a way with the Sky Metal found in the area, able to sculpt it in to wonderful works of Art (Skymetal Smith Trait). His Most recent Being a Mask of Brigh, Which he Seemingly does not remember Crafting.. He keeps the token with him at all times, as a good luck charm, Strangely ever since he crafted it, he has had reoccurring dreams, beckoning him to go to the Temple of Brigh in Town. Due to how busy he and His Father are at the Forge, he has not found the time to make the trip yet.

As a Student of the forge, Thomas is Familiar with most Types of Arms and Armor, has had some Simple Training In in a Few.

He appears as a Handsome Youth, in his Late teens. Grey Eyes, a strong jaw, and easy smile are most commonly see on his Face. However, his most stunning feature is the Purple Scars along his hands and Fore arms. Thomas doesn't remember how they got there, but his Father says he was too close to the Forge one day with a Sudden Flare-Up occurred.

Thomas is Some what embarrassed by the Scaring, and trys to keep them covered as much as possible.

I Imagine him going to the Temple at the start of the campaign, and being told he has been Chosen as a Champion of Brigh.

The Android part can easily be Swapped to Human, if you would rather.

Hi DM Camris,

Here's my concept for a Dark Tapestry oracle. The idea is that she somehow has gotten her power from an alien lifeform, and now she's in Numeria for some answers. I have no idea if it will tie in well, but I'm hoping there's something in the 4th Adventure ("Valley of the Brain Collectors") that can make sense of at least some of it. But it's fine if she never actually finds any answers.

Mechanically, she's a full divine caster that totes around a longspear for possible AOOs. She'll also be able to do some shapeshifting for utility and possibly for combat.

Submitting Svala, Dwarf Bloodrager, with Elemental Fire and Steelblood archetype. Currently in Mythweavers format, but if you have a preferred format for the profile I can translate.

A brief backstory is in the profile but I'll repost here for convenience:

Svala's family business was in the smithing trade, her older brother got all the praise and the skill with the forge, and stands to inherit, Svala was infected by the power of the forge, as the essence of fire and metal seeped into her very soul. She knows not why, but she can call on this power when she needs to, make her stronger and hardier in battle.

She seeks to prove herself, show her father that she's not just a warrior, but can forge something lasting, and she sought to use the famous forge of torch to do it. Unfortunately before she was able to craft more than a small bauble for herself, the violet flame died.

Her family think it may be tied to Svala's dark luck, and she is desperate to find what is going on to prove them wrong.

Playwise: She'll be a tank, wading in to take the hits, while hitting back.

Characterwise: She's feeling incredibly guilty that her odd powers may have interacted badly with the fires of Torch, and wants desperately to prove otherwise, she'll cover a lot of her fear with bluster and determination however.

HiI'mZatandI'mheretolendahand.SaydidyouknowthatIliketopokeandprodatmachines ,mycousinGarritisamaniacwhenitcomestomachinesIlearnedeverythingtherewastokn owfromhim! *pause for a deep breath*

Hi, I'm Zat and I'd like to help.

Stats are a bit off but I'll adjust if chosen. This guy was part of an IG game that floundered and died after one or two encounters. His stats were rolled.

About Zat:
Zat is going all out for Tech items and gear. I notice you already have a Techslinger, but that was the eventual goal for Zat. I can adjust that. I like the idea of a little weird spastic gnome hurling grenades, firing a laser and tinkering with all the doodads he finds.

About me as a player:

I post very consistently around the same times each day at least 2-3 times per day. I like games where players and GM post at least once per day if not more. I'm currently GMing an IG game and have most of the maps and whatnot hosted on my google drive if you guys would like to use them.

Grand Lodge

Hey! I have Caius here that I made up for a previous Iron Gods game. He's a meaty Magus that likes to get close and dirty to were all the action is!

"Tell ya what, let's draw cards to see who gets in."

"Or you can just come up and see me sometime."

DM-Camris here, REOPENING recruitment for two more players!

We've only cleared the first set of caves, and are still first level; probably not for long though. They just found a metal wall that seems to cut through the caves area; there looks to be a portal they might be able to enter. All in pursuit of a lost expedition...

Male Human (taldan) Rogue L1

Male Human (Azlanti) Alchemist (chirurgeon) L1

Looks to me like we need some muscle and some some kind of spellcaster.

You can see our campaign HERE.
This recruitment will only be open a day or two. Selections probably Monday.

Interested, probably going to end up a magic-user. I'm a creature of habit.

Would you be ok with either an android or dwarf hunter with a mechanical pet he made himself using craft/knowledge engineering?

Same stats as normal but with construct traits. Going primal archetype, would be more of a upgrade kicking in for a short period of time.

Rysky here, and interested. Thinking of a Skinwalker (wolf) Barbarian with the Numerian Liberator and Superstitious Archetypes. Would play an android but the whole immune to rage kinda kills it.

Grand Lodge

This is Zimmer. Still need to buy gear and compose the background. I'll let you know when I have.

The apostrophe in the alias name is there because someone already claimed it.

Here is the story of Laos android hunter.

Backstory:

I was trained from a young age by a friend of our tribe, an elven hunter. After my initial awakening I had shown an extraordinary interest in nature, especially animals so at my request he trained me to be a hunter.
I used to belong a nomadic tribe of androids before their demise at the hands of the Technic League. I was away, with my mentor. When we returned we found the camp had been completely ransacked and my tribesman either abducted or killed. A dark-haired figure and a large robot looking like a large suit of armor were the only remaining creatures. The man ordered the robot to attack. Seeing the robot take out our pets with ease and then shooting some strange red beam out of his eye, instantly killing my mentor was too much for me. I fled the scene, cowardly I ran as far away as I could. The worst moment of my life.
The fear of losing my life made me keep on running. I used my acquired skills to keep out of sight. It was weeks before I finally relaxed. I was a mental wreck. I had lost the ability to interact with animals, I couldn’t take another pet. The last time I was almost killed by an aggressive wolverine.
I was drinking my sorrows away, useless you know as an android can’t get drunk, when a middle-aged human man took interest in me. Khonnir Baine was his name. He had somehow seen my despair and started a conversation. That conversation turned into many more. I’m proud to say that I can call Khonnir Baine my friend. He taught me everything I know about engineering. I am the droid I am today because of his friendship and teachings.
After learning so much I decided not to find a pet but to create a pet. Using metal and my knowledge of engineering I created AR01, a mechanical replica of my favorite animal, a tiger.
AR01 was my first attempt. There would be many more. After my latest failure I decided to take a more divine approach. I prayed to Brigh, the whisper in bronze, to help me in my quest to create an android pet, faster, stronger, and tougher than the original.
Goddess, please give me what I need. I will be your loyal servant. I will be you champion, taking on the Technic League and their evil creations and robots. I prayed but no one listened.
Ready to give up I went to see my friend. He should be back from his latest expedition, trying to find out why the purple flame had died. He hadn’t returned yet and he didn’t return the next days.
I have told the council I would join the expedition to find Khonnir Baine, my friend and mentor. I have one more chance before the expedition leaves tomorrow. I have hooked myself to AR11, my last try, my most dangerous try. I let the electricity flow through me. I know in an instant I was going to die. Then blackness and silence. I was dead……….then I heard a voice.
You, Laos, would die to create the perfect companion. Stupid choice, but I applaud you’re perseverance in trying to create. You’re not going to die. You need to fulfill your destiny first. I will grant you your request. I will give life to your experiment. Don’t fail me.
I regained consciousness and was pleasantly surprised, before me stood my creation. Looking back at me were 2 light blue eyes like mine, blinking, waiting on my command.

@DM-Camris Read it please and tell me what you think of it.

Actually will be going Android since I found the Emapthy feat, though having to drag Cha up to 15 does bite.

Working on sheet right now.

CLASS:

Barbarian (Numerian Liberator/Superstitious)

Class Skills
The Barbarian's class skills are Acrobatics (Dex), Climb (Str), Craft (Int), Handle Animal (Cha), Intimidate (Cha), Knowledge (nature) (Int), Perception (Wis), Ride (Dex), Survival (Wis), and Swim (Str).
Skill Points at each Level: 4 + Int modifier.
Class Skill: A Numerian liberator gains Stealth as a class skill and removes Climb from her list of barbarian class skills.

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: A barbarian is proficient with all simple and martial weapons, light armor, medium armor, and shields (except tower shields).

Fast Movement (Ex): A barbarian's land speed is faster than the norm for her race by +10 feet. This benefit applies only when she is wearing no armor, light armor, or medium armor, and not carrying a heavy load. Apply this bonus before modifying the barbarian's speed because of any load carried or armor worn. This bonus stacks with any other bonuses to the barbarian's land speed.

Rage (Ex): A barbarian can call upon inner reserves of strength and ferocity, granting her additional combat prowess. Starting at 1st level, a barbarian can rage for a number of rounds per day equal to 4 + her Constitution modifier. At each level after 1st, she can rage for 2 additional rounds. Temporary increases to Constitution, such as those gained from rage and spells like bear's endurance, do not increase the total number of rounds that a barbarian can rage per day. A barbarian can enter rage as a free action. The total number of rounds of rage per day is renewed after resting for 8 hours, although these hours do not need to be consecutive.

While in rage, a barbarian gains a +4 morale bonus to her Strength and Constitution, as well as a +2 morale bonus on Will saves. In addition, she takes a –2 penalty to Armor Class. The increase to Constitution grants the barbarian 2 hit points per Hit Dice, but these disappear when the rage ends and are not lost first like temporary hit points. While in rage, a barbarian cannot use any Charisma-, Dexterity-, or Intelligence-based skills (except Acrobatics, Fly, Intimidate, and Ride) or any ability that requires patience or concentration.

FEATS & TRAITS:

Robot Slayer
Source Iron Gods Player's Guide pg. 9, People of the River pg. 31 (Amazon)
Category Campaign
Requirement(s) Iron Gods
The strange automatons that plague the wilds of Numeria are a blight upon the world, and the idea that there could be countless more of these creatures lying in wait in the unknown ruins scattered throughout the region chills your blood. Khonnir’s recovery of a deactivated robot from the caves below Torch worries you—not only could that thing wake up and run amok in town, but there may well be more lurking below! You want to explore the caves under Torch to determine if there is indeed a lurking robot threat below town. You gain a +1 trait bonus on attack rolls against robots and a +1 dodge bonus to AC against attacks made by robots.

Nanite Revival
Source People of the Stars pg. 7 (Amazon)
Category Race
Requirement(s) Android
You can instinctively activate your nanites to save your life. Once per day as an immediate action, you can command your nanites to stabilize you while you are dying, even while unconscious or helpless. This does not count as a use of your nanite surge ability.

Ancestral Weapon
Source People of the River pg. 7 (Amazon)
Category Region
Requirement(s) Numeria
You have inherited a sacred tribal weapon wielded by your forebears since the days before the Rain of Stars, and you were trained in its use from a young age. Select either cold iron or silver. You begin play with a masterwork melee weapon made of the material of your choice. You must be prof icient with this weapon, and its combined cost cannot exceed 500 gp. You gain a +1 trait bonus on attack rolls with weapons made of the selected material.

Warded Against Nature
Source Champions of Corruption pg. 29 (Amazon)
Category Drawback
Animals do not willingly approach within 30 feet of you, unless you or the animal’s master succeeds at a DC 20 Handle Animal, Ride, or wild empathy check. Animal companions, familiars, and mounts granted by your class abilities are immune to this effect.

Empathy
Source Pathfinder #85: Fires of Creation pg. 72 (Amazon), People of the Stars pg. 7 (Amazon)
You have learned to experience emotion.
Prerequisites: Cha 13, android.
Benefit: You lose the emotionless special quality. You can gain morale bonuses, and can be affected by emotionbased effects and fear effects. You lack the +4 racial bonus on saving throws against mind-affecting effects.

Racial:

The artificially constructed humanoids known as androids are as much a miracle of technological achievement as they are an example of the sheer will of the multiverse. On Golarion, they’re endemic to Numeria, and for millennia, the native Kellid tribespeople have spoken of “the tattooed children of the stars” who occasionally rise from the technological rubble and ruins of whatever interstellar vessel crashed into that nation’s soil eons ago.

Androids are superficially identical to humans in many ways, and to the uninformed it can be difficult to differentiate the two. In the right light, though, androids’ alien nature is revealed by the metallic sheen in their eyes and the biological, tattoo-like circuitry that riddles their skin. Their bodies are completely artificial, though made of materials that mimic the flexibility, shape, and density of human flesh and bone. Their organs mirror those of humans so well that only by examining the materials and makeup of these systems—which use sheeny oils and polymer alloys rather than blood and marrow—could one guess that their physiology is alien. Androids are roughly the same size as humans; on average, they are 6 feet tall and weigh 200 pounds.

Kellid shamans speak of great forges where androids are “born” from metal wombs and are cut from electrified umbilical cords. Even androids can’t refute or verify such stories, since most who emerge from Numerian ruins do so naked and without any memories beyond their initial egress into the wide, unfamiliar world. Their complex design is unlike that of any race known to Golarion’s solar system, leading many to suspect that they (and the alien spaceship on which they crashed onto Golarion) originated from a distant star system or even another galaxy.

What separates androids from golems and other mindless constructs is that androids are living beings and as such possess souls. Similarly, androids don’t live forever, though barring violence or tragedy their bodies never deteriorate. Rather, an android’s cybernetic mind eventually shuts down and self-restarts after about a century, leaving its body vacant for several weeks as the old soul departs for its final reward in the Great Beyond and a fresh, new soul finds its way into the shell.

Android Racial Traits
Androids are defined by their class levels—they do not have racial Hit Dice. All androids have the following racial traits.

+2 Dexterity, +2 Intelligence, –2 Charisma: Androids have swift reflexes and are very intelligent, but they have difficulty relating to others.
Medium: Androids are Medium creatures, and they have no bonuses or penalties due to their size.
Normal Speed: Androids have a base speed of 30 feet.
Exceptional Senses: Androids have darkvision to a range of 60 feet and low-light vision. They also gain a +2 racial bonus on Perception checks.
Constructed (Ex): For the purposes of effects targeting creatures by type (such as bane weapons and a ranger’s favored enemy ability), androids count as both humanoids and constructs. Androids gain a +4 racial bonus on all saving throws against mindaffecting effects, paralysis, poison, and stun effects; are not subject to fatigue or exhaustion; and are immune to disease and sleep effects. Androids can never gain morale bonuses, and are immune to fear effects and all emotion-based effects.
Emotionless (Ex): Androids have problems processing emotions properly, and thus take a –4 penalty on Sense Motive checks.
Nanite Surge (Ex): An android’s body is infused with nanites. Once per day as an immediate action, an android can cause his nanites to surge, granting him a bonus equal to 3 + the android’s character level on any one d20 roll; this ability must be activated before the roll is made. When an android uses this power, his circuitry-tattoos glow with light equivalent to that of a torch for 1 round.
Languages: Androids begin play speaking Common. Androids with high Intelligence scores can choose any languages (except secret languages, such as Druidic).

BACKSTORY:

Reaper. Paleblood. Ghost. Silence. Peace. World Born Dead. The iterations were always different, a new soul in a new body, and yet some parts were always the same. The longer existence went on, the more clear these similarities, these abnormalities, began to show. As the years and bodies wore on data and processes were pushed to the side in favor of thoughts and emotions. And while the memories never carried over, the feelings, the longing, the agitation, the amusements, the anger, the boredom, all these infections did, and soon there was nothing logical left, just backlogs of unfinished and bugged scripts... or unresolved dreams.

World Born Dead. Seemed appropriate, seeing as how he woke up in tomb after this birth. Looking at the armaments laying about and how he was outfitted in his grave he could only surmise that his previous iteration had been some sort of honored warrior for whoever this necropolis belonged to. While cozy the land of the dead is no place for the living, and so he gathered up what had been laid about him, and set forth back into the lighted lands.

While all the iterations traveled across the continent of Avistan they never left it, and in fact at some point were always drawn back to where one of the first iterations had originated upon this lush world. Numeria, and it was to here that World Born Dead, conscious or no, had been drawn to. Homesickness? Unfinished business? A forgotten promise? Or simple curiosity? He didn't know, they're may have not been any reason at all, beyond simple longing and agitation at the accursed metal land and its denizens.

He didn't think on it much as traveled to Torch, mostly his thoughts shifted between the various tokens of the Gods his previous iterations had collected and offered their souls to. Did he have one too? Was he too much machine? Or was he too much human? What was a machine? What was a human? What was a soul? World Born Dead pondered over these thoughts as his mind had long ago, either due to twisted design or bug, forgone logical processing and calculating in favor of the much less practical errant thinking and dreaming.

It was within these errant thoughts, absorbed in these incalculable possibilities and scenarios that he wandered through the wastes of Numeria, eventually finding his way towards Torch. A way he hastened when he saw the light go out from days away.

APPEARANCE:
Lithe and pale the Android that is now World Born Dead moves about lethargically, with dull silver hair and eyes and clothed in mishmash of hides and a priest's vestments of black and faded silver he looks at odds both a cleric and a guard of some sort. The nanites surging though him long ago fractured alongside his mind, once a peaceful blue the glowing resonance now shares activation with a hostile red whenever he is stressed, whether this is due to experiencing and recreating the negative human feeling of rage or simply a machine going haywire is up to some debate in his mind and body.

This is Cheshire he is a wild child brawler with a pet tiger. He was made for another Iron God's campaign that dropped in somewhere in the first group of caves. I know you wanted fast recruitment so I wanted to let you see his back story and I will edit the crunch as needed.

Bloodrage(Arcane): Enter Bloodrage as a free action. While in a bloodrage, a bloodrager gains a +4 morale bonus to his Strength and Constitution, as well as a +2 morale bonus on Will saves. In addition, he takes a –2 penalty to Armor Class. The increase to Constitution grants the bloodrager 2 hit points per Hit Die, but these disappear when the bloodrage ends and are not lost first like temporary hit points. A bloodrager can end his bloodrage as a free action. When the bloodrage ends, he's fatigued for a number of rounds equal to twice the number of rounds spent in the bloodrage. A bloodrager cannot enter a new bloodrage while fatigued or exhausted, but can otherwise enter bloodrage multiple times during a single encounter or combat. If a bloodrager falls unconscious, his bloodrage immediately ends, placing him in peril of death.
Disruptive Bloodrage: the DC to cast spells defensively increases by 2 for enemies within your threatened area. This increase stacks with that granted by the Disruptive feat.
Gear: Large Bastard Sword (70GP), Chain Shirt (100GP), Traveler’s Outfit , 85 GP

Backstory:
Anders was born in Razmiran, His father died when he was very young and he and his mother were taken in by the local temple of Razmir. Anders grew up in the temple, surrounded by luxury, as the “Blessed of Razmir” Paraded about as a sign of Razmirs Divine power, pilgrims came from far and wide to see him, and he believed it all, how could he not, he was just a child, and it was all he had ever known. This continues for several years until his mother got sick; she had always been weak, but as Anders reached maturity she took a turn for the worse.
When she got sick, Anders Prayed to Razmir, and when she died, he was heartbroken; He asked why Razmir had not answered their Prayers, why none of the priests had cured his mother, The head Priest, a man named Jeremiah told him that she strayed from the true path, and lost faith, but Anders knew that this was a lie; He had been with his mother in the days and hours leading up to her death and her faith never wavered. So, He waited until the next Grand service and snuck into Jeremiah’s personal quarters; there he discovered the truth; Razmir was a sham, the vast powers his priests welded were merely trickery and illusions, used to keep themselves powerful and wealthy. When he confronted Jeremiah with this, the man laughed and told him that he would not be allowed to tell anyone, and attempted to make him obey, He was shocked when the spell failed to work, and fled in terror. Anders revealed the truth of Razmir to the town, and fled, just ahead of Jeremiah, who had returned with a small army. Anders fled to Numeria, where he quickly ran afoul of the Technic League, seeing in their oppression, everything that he had come to hate about Razmiran; well aware that it would be unwise to antagonize another powerful organization so soon, Anders took refuge in torch where the technic league held less power; Shortly after his arrival, the Flame went out; and he fears that the League will use it as an excuse to take over, something that he is determined to stop.

Personality:
Anders is a just and fair minded person, he approves of fair and honest dealings and dislikes excessive trickery and deception, especially when used selfishly at the expense of others. Due to the revelation about Razmir and his priests, Anders has been soured on matters of Magic and gods; especially those who would use these things as tools to oppress those weaker then them.

There are many tales such as mine. The tale of a vagabond roaming around looking for a chance to prove himself to others and more importantly himself. Not many are granted that chance by others. Most of the time one has to take matters into his own hands. Such may be the case when dealing with the Wormwood. But I get a head of myself.

It's easy to see looking back how I became a vagabond drifting along life with no purpose or direction. I was left in the care of an orphanage at an early age. The only possessions were the clothes I was wearing and a pendant n the shape of a dolphin with the word Shanxia inscribed upon its back. I was too young to remember the details of that time. The only thing I remember is a what appears to be a youthful elven woman with flowing red hair. Who this person may be I don't really know, but I assume that this is my mother. Likewise I assume that the word inscribed upon the pendant is either her name or has some other relation to her. I have spent most of my adult life looking for her or trying to find out more about the word Shanxia. Unfortunately not being one of much wealth, I have not been able to pay for the direct means of magically divining what this word may entail. The only other possible clue to her identity is the hope that she has made a name for herself with magical talents. You see I inherited some gift of magic as well. Wether this is from her or my father's side I don't know speaking of my 'father' of him I know even less unless you call my surname a clue. Perhaps some day I will find the answer to these life questions and I can know the circumstances of my orphanage.

My childhood was typical of one raised without parents. Cared for but not loved, I was put to work when I was able to earn an income. Living in a port city there was always work around the docks, running messages, crawling into tight spaces adults couldn't fit into etc. It wasn't long before I started living more at the docks than at my 'home'. I grew up listening to stories of the sea and how to drink and fight. About the most exotic women and strange faraway places.

Barely out of my elven teens, I signed on as a crewman aboard a 'merchant' ship. This was the life. Sun, wind and the sea taking me to places I only heard about in stories. Little did I fully understand the 'merchant' ship was a group of mercenaries looking for easy money. Well I learned a lot about actual fighting from them even though their methods were crude. Piracy was one thing, murder after surrender was another. Back in port I ended my contract and went to work looking for my heritage. Using the money I had gained as a sailor I consulted a morale who told me about a location: Torch. He did not know what that meant as that was the only thing given to him. Taking that one clue I studied maps and consulted explorers. One man happened to recall a town by that name. Taking his leave and gathering my supplies I set off to find my future and my past.
