What's the toughest no-magic character you can make?

You might be able to win this with a Pistolero, but only if you are allowed revolvers, and are high enough level.

Between Deadly Aim, dex to damage, Rapid Shot, Clustered Shots, and the Two-Weapon Fighting line it could be pretty easy to go first and not let them respond.

I would say either half orc(for the toothy bite attack) invulnerable rager barbarian with superstitious, beast totem, and stalwart.

At level 20 I can also see a Rogue(Scout & Thug) 10/Barbarian (Invulnerable rager)10. Beast totem for pounce, superstitious for will saves. Rogue can sneak attack on a charge and get shatter defenses, and the fear based rage power. Combine with Offensive defense, and crippling strike.

Beast Totem is supernatural, so that's a no-go.

Forgot about that. I change my answer to vanilla fighter. Give him a bastard sword and a tower shield, and watch him go. Give him some nice critical feats, and when you can stunning assault. He'll have good AC and damage, and enough feats you can up whatever saves you need to.

In addition to my two earlier suggestions, I would like to throw out a vote for Mounted Fury Barbarian 10/Mammoth Rider 10.

All of the Mammoth Rider's abilities are Extraordinary, as are the Ferocious Mount and Greater Ferocious Mount Rage Powers.

I also think an Aldori Swordlord Fighter/Aldori Swordlord Prestige Class with dips in Swashbuckler and Master of Many Styles could do better than a vanilla fighter.

I might post some rough builds soon.

I think my dwarven invulnerable rager 18/ unbreakable fighter is the toughest I've been able to make. 136 hp and dr 6 at 7th level with no magic effects. Average hp per level and a base 18 con score. It really was a fun character in PDA, but a half Orc with tenacious survivor in a home game is just about the toughest character in the game.

I love tenacious survivor. Powerhouse tank that can still bring the pain, I wish It was PFS legal.

Rogue. Because it's always toughest to make a good rogue.

This is basically the equivalent of a modern day soldier deciding "Oh, hey. I should ignore every advancement we've made in the past few thousand years, and really oughta pick up ancient armor and a spear and then go take on ISIS."

Or Mad Jack Churchill.

Grapple build doesn't stop the swash from full-attacking.

Gunslinger better be ready to provoke twice every time he fires.

Not sure how Zen Archer would do. Probably not great once his bow has been disarmed.

Not sure how well that would work out, monks have some of the best CMDs in the game. Depending on the level. Post level 11 Gunslinger Pistoleer walks away with it unscathed, 3-10 Zen Archer, 1-2 Fighter...maybe? 2 handed monster at any rate.

Swash doesn't care about your CMD when he disarms you, he's rolling vs your AC (and damaging you if he succeeds.)

And how is your pistolero reloading with provoking?

I'd say Primal Spell Eating Untouchable Blood Rager. Make it a Half Orc with a double axe. Don't worry about the two weapon fighting just use it as two handed weapon. That way you can take Orc Weapon Expertise feat with Disruptor option. Be an Arcane bloodline for disruptive blood rage and get the disruptive feat at 6th level as bonus feat. Pick the witch hunter and superstitious at 4th level and 8th pick reckless abandon and spell sunder and finally at level 16 grab 2 improved DR. You'll want Combat expertise for the Stalwart. You take -1 to hit for +1 AC that is converted to DR +1/- which is converted to +1 fast healing. Reckless abandon give +1 to hit for -1 AC canceling the penalty to hit from combat expertise. At 20th level you could fast healing 19 (5 DR normal, +2 for Improved DR, +12 for Improved Stalwart) and Spell Resistance 32.

This is a magic killer!

I love this option!!

Not to mention a no magic setup is going to result in massively unbalanced characters that would never see play in an actual game, especially since everyone seems to be looking at level 20 builds. With no magical AC boosting everyone's ACs will be so low that all the characters are going to be glass cannons. Attack bonuses of 30+ are easy to manage without magic: magic-less ACs at that level are just are very hard to pull off unless you're running with a tower shield, full plate combat expertise, small size, and every other AC boosting trick.

Dex-focused characters wouldn't really work either: without any magical dexterity boosters only an urban barbarian would get a high enough dex to really gain an AC benefit from it; everyone else would just end up wearing a mithral breastplate instead of full plate, and having about the same final AC.

Of course, dex-focus does convey a different but very important advantage: since everyone's going to be a glass cannon, victory is likely to go to whoever wins initiative.
