Building a Kitsune Swashbuckler for PFS

Advice

Liberty's Edge

I'm working on a swashbuckling Kitsune for Socity play and so far, I got most of the character figured out, but I'm haveimg a bit of difficulty with a few of the options.

First, is their a feat / trait / something that makes you deal extra damage based off of Dex? I got a high Dex stat, but because I am a Kitsune, an average str..

Second, would poetry be considered oratory and thus Preform or craft? I get the feeling that craft deals with physical objects while preform does more of the performance side of things. Poetry fits with my concept of the character, as she worships Shelyn.

Lastly, how do natural attacks work for a Player character? Does one of the Monster or the race book cover that? I know it's counted as a separate attack for monsters, but what about PC's?

Feat, yes, for the dex to damage. It is called Slashing Grace. Note: It only works with slashing weapons specifically though. There is also fencing grace specifically for rapiers as well.

Craft creates something. Poetry would be a perform skill I'm pretty sure.

Natural attacks work the same for both players and monsters. If you're using a manufactured weapon all natural weapons become secondary taking a -5 penalty to their attack rolls (and obviously you can't use a claw with the hand holding the weapon).

Fencing Grace

As for the poetry thing, that would be up to DM discretion (which I know doesn't help with PFS). Personally I would put it under an oratory perform, but if you specialized in written poetry I would make it craft. I would pick to either specialize in spoken or written and then make the decision from there. Both skills are very open ended, you should be fine either way.

Natural attacks are very good at low levels, but at high levels they're nothing more than a gimmick. As a swashbuckler, stick with a weapon.

Shadow Lodge

Have you considered Eldritch Heritage at any point? My human Swashbuckler is having great fun with his new fangs courtesy of the Serpentine Bloodline, and the familiar is nice too. (The fangs aren't incredibly useful, because I can always sneak my Slashing Grace weapon past guards, as it is a sharpened combat scabbard.) EH is still a decent pick if you have slots, though.

CampinCarl has your Dex-to-damage options, but there's also a weapon enchantment called agile, which gives Dex to damage, but you won't be able to afford that until at least level 6. The feats could come online as soon as level 3.

Obviously, Perform (oratory) will give you a better bonus than Craft (poetry), since you're focused on Charisma. Unless you have a role-play reason to not want Perform, it wouldn't be a bad idea to throw one skill rank in that for a Day Job roll.

Natural attacks work more or less like any other weapon attack. They use your full Base Attack Bonus, and they're light weapons, so you can use Weapon Finesse as well. The only thing to keep in mind is that if you also attack with a manufactured weapon (such as a rapier), your natural attacks all take a -5 penalty in that round.
