Blackwood Glade is recruiting both individuals and companies for early enrollment. Now is your chance to get in at the ground floor and make a difference in one of the 33 original settlements. We are looking for possible leaders to help Guide Blackwood Glade during early enrollment. We have a group of about 30 members signed up at our web site
Blackwood Glade, but are looking for some new members who would be more active during early enrollment.
We are a mostly elven settlement and are accepting other races that fit our outlook in the game. We will even accept a few dwarves, if they shave their beards (Just kidding! About the beards that is).
We are looking for all roles, but really need a mercenary type group to help defend our towers when the war of towers starts.
Here is a little about Blackwood Glade:
We are a fighter/Cleric Settlement.
Caveat. Everything below is subject to slight adaptations constrained by the game mechanics of PFO yet to be fully understood/disclosed (like alignment constraints).
Settlement Motto: Haven of Elvenkind. The ways of nature, magic and perfection.
Our Goal:
Federate in a strongly elven-themed settlement all the diversity of Pathfinder's elves. Our unique Sponsored Companies will allow you to match your play-style with the peculiarities of Elven culture and the promising features offered by PathFinder Online. If you like playing an elf or a character that has ties with them, come to Blackwood Glade, join one of our companies or create your own. Our purpose is to be a significant faction, enough to stand-out and contribute to the heroic fantasy feeling of PFO while having fun doing so (the Elven way of course).
Elves Only? We expect most of our players to use elves or half-elves, but a minority of other character races are OK with a proper background (elven friend).
Among the unique companies sponsored by Blackwood Glade (BwG), you can already find the following:
Company Indor-Mardil: CG, RP, PVE. The founding company focus will be the running and growth of the settlement. If you like to stick around in the settlement to RP with visitors and fellow elves, perhaps doing politics, or fending off monster threats to ensure safety of the surrounding outposts, then this is the right company for you.
Company The Viridian Circle: TN, PvP, Diplomacy. These militant Druids are sworn to the protection of wilderness. If you like fighting for a cause and Druid or Ranger characters, this is the organization you need. Aside PvP, the Viridian Circle also intend to push its agenda via more subtle ways of influence and to create a network federating all the defenders of nature in the game that could be harnessed for serious factional warfare.
Company The Vespiary: CN, RP, PvP. Followers of Calistria, these elves delight either in the shadow path of the assassin, or the bright path of the courtesan. But all revel in extracting information and striking their victim when they expect it the less. You are patient, like solo play or on the opposite social interactions and trickery? You like rogues or bards roles? Intrigue, lust, revenge, the ways of Calistria are fascinating to play.
Company Hud Glanas Edhellen/League of Elven Purity: RP. Lovers of all that is elven, you are the guardians of the traditions, arts and purity of the elven culture. This company is for heavy RPers and amateurs of lore and elven language. You will instill in the game the real meaning of being an elf but also help other players in their RP. This company unlike the others is strictly reserved to elven characters.
Right now we officially have three companies registered for the game (soon to get the rest):
Indor-mardil, League of Elven Purity, The Vespiary
Other Companies: We are presently looking for enough interested players to build of a company focused on trading and crafts (PvE, "elvenware"). And of course, if you have a great Elven concept you are welcome to build it among us. Blackwood Glade's sponsored companies are quite independent - their only constraint being to be led by Elves and having a majority of Elven characters.
Laws: Few. Denizens and Sponsored Companies will have a lot of leeway as long as they are not committing evil acts or antagonizing nature and Elven culture. Contribution to the settlement will be mostly voluntary, depending on the tax system the game is providing.
Politics/Alliances: Sponsored companies are free of their alliances, feuds and overall politics. The only requirement being that none of their acts engage BwG or any of the other sponsored companies without their explicit consent. Blackwood Glade is a signatory of the Roseblood Accord.
Organization: Blackwood Glade will be led by an oligarchy made of the leaders of its Sponsored Companies. The founding company leader has final say in case of tie among the other leaders. The governing body typically decides priorities regarding production and development of the settlement as well as any feuds or alliances that would impact the settlement and all its sponsored companies.
RolePlay: BwG is RP-oriented but welcome any kind of play-style. For those with little interest in RP, we just require that their character name be appropriate (PFO will have a good character name generator) and that they follow very simple guidelines within the settlement to not ruin other players’ immersion. The communication channels required for Settlement and Companies operations will be non-RP.
I am running two characters in the Blackwood Glade area. Mourn Blackhand my main character and Malakith Telva his destiny Twin.
If there are any members of Blackwood Glade reading this please check in here and at Blackwood Glade so we can see who is going to be active now in early enrollment and who is going to wait. Also, it’s been a long time since some of you have posted and I don’t have a very good memory so if you have started a company for Blackwood Glade and I left you out please forgive me and let me know what is happening.
