So I am looking at a Darkleaf Studded Leather armor for my hunter. My question however is, do I have to wait till I have 9 fame to purchase this?

Thank you for the responses.

Nope. You can buy it as soon as you have the gold since it's an Always Available item.

All basic armor, gear, items, and weapons from Chapter

6 of the Core Rulebook, including Small and Large-sized
items. This does not include equipment made from
dragonhide, but it does include equipment made from
the other special materials, such as alchemical silver
and cold iron (see the Special Materials section on
page 154 of the Core Rulebook).
All mundane (completely
nonmagical) weapons, armor, equipment, and
alchemical gear found in any other source that is legal
for play are considered always available.

Funny enough, you hit exactly what made me pause and question.

Your quote refers ONLY to the special materials in the CRB, which Darkleaf is not.

Nor is there a Drakleaf Studded Leather in Ultimate Equipment.

Is it completely nonmagical? If so, the last quoted sentence would apply (assuming a legal source allows you to choose darkleaf).
