I just want to alert folks to this FAQ entry, which clarifies that powers that trigger when something else happens can actually be used multiple times during the same check or step.
This might seem like a big deal, since we've been very explicit about powers only being used once per check or step, but I strongly suspect that almost everyone playing the game intuitively understood it even though it was technically not in the rules.
Let's look at S&S Lem: "When you would recharge a card, you may shuffle it into your deck instead." If your Lem encountered the Chelish Marine Captain and recharged two cards, did you shuffle them both in? Bet you did.
And on his Seasinger role: "When you roll on the Plunder Table, you may add or subtract 1 from the result." Lem defeated Goblin Keelhaulin' and made five plunder rolls. Did you use his power on all five rolls? Guessing so.
Valeros played both his Longsword and Dagger on one check. Did he use his power to recharge them both? Seems likely.
And on and on.
So at first blush, this might seem like a big change, but I think you'll find that that this is a case of the rules changing to describe how people already play.
