Half Dead template?

Rules Questions

We're currently running through the Mummy's Mask campaign and we're about halfway through book two. Every single combat (or thereabouts) the rogue goes down. But he almost never goes negative, he always gets put down to 0. So I was thinking, what if, because he's unconscious so long all the time, I give him a template because of the enormous amount of undead energy flowing over the city? Because he can't consciously resist, it invades his soul and makes him half-dead, like the city itself. Is there a template for that? Either I'm not looking hard enough or there isn't one. I'd like to stick to official material, not 3pp

To my knowledge there isn't any half dead templates. You could, however, give him negative energy affinity like Dhampirs get.

That's a start. I was hoping for a little more. I've got a sorc who's trying to get to the half dragon template, a little modified though. What about adding charisma to hp as well?

You could do that, yeah. It's really up to you at this point. You could check out the Homebrew or Suggestion boards to see if anyone else has asked something similar to this.

there is actually, there's the one in the URG, and maybe the Unhollowed template found here

Half-Undead (5 RP)
Half-undead races are strange or unholy fusions of the living and the undead. Players interested in playing a half-undead race might also consider the dhampir, the progeny of a vampire and a human. A half-undead race has the following features.

Half-undead have the darkvision 60 feet racial trait.
Half-undead gain a +2 racial bonus on saving throws against disease and mind-affecting effects.
Half-undead take no penalties from energy-draining effects, though they can still be killed if they accrue more negative levels than they have Hit Dice. After 24 hours, any negative levels they've gained are removed without any additional saving throws.
Half-undead creatures are harmed by positive energy and healed by negative energy. A half-undead creature with the fast healing special quality still benefits from that quality.

and here:

The unhallowed creature template includes the effects of the unhallow spell and its magic circle against good effect, and applies to all undead creatures in the area of effect of an unhallow spell.

Quick Rules: +2 deflection bonus to AC vs. good creatures; +2 resistance bonus on saving throws vs. good creatures; +4 profane bonus to DC to resist channeled negative energy.

Has he traveled to and returned from the Underverse?

At 0 you're not down ^^ Only staggered. And even if you're in negatives, you're still alive.

But negative energy affinity could be a good start, meaning he's absorbed too much overall negative energy flowing in the city, and somehow starts to cross the line between life and undeath.
