Savage Worlds and Cards, How Have You Done It?

Online Campaigns General Discussion

For those that have run Savage Worlds, or have considered it, how do you handle card? Do you just handle the deck yourself? If so, have your players just trusted you?

The times I've been involved it's been a DM run deck - as in the DM did the drawing and assigned the cards.

No reason for there not to be trust - it's no different to some DMs that occasionally do off-screen rolls for their monsters, etc.

I've run one SW PbP (which ended premeturely :/) and playing in one. In both games the initiative was handled by the GM and I think it worked well.

When I ran I first drew the cards for the players in alphabetical order and then for their foes, also in alphabetical order. I also made sure I used the same deck and that it didn't get shuffled inbetween rounds (which can take a while due to the PbP format).

I don't think it has to be any more complicated than that. If the players don't trust the GM to handle the "behind the scenes" stuff like that they shouldn't play in that GM's games.
