Saw my first high word count item that actually delivered.
An item can be amazing, but without following the format, or even mentioning a price ... sad.
I just saw an item that was all Description, with no aura, price, etc. It's really good descriptive text, and makes me want it.
Wounding weapons everywhere!
Weapon-types and damage-types are probably a bit too specific a reference as well.
Nice gauntlets.
Nice shield idea.
And there is that superstar Bam-Bam item.
I sincerely hope you voted for your own item regardless.

Ouch--potentially sexist item vs. potentially racist item.
I'm noticing lots of blood and gore, but I suppose that is more natural with these item types. Bloody weapons are less icky than bloody wondrous items, I suppose.

Staff-staff versus weapon-staff
Ridiculously underpriced item exceeds +10 (enhancement + abilities), versus simple hammer that does cool stuff.
The object is to make magic items... so why I do I keep seeing masterwork weapons, armor and/or shields that do XYZ? is it too much to give that b#~%+ a +1?

That said, I haven't really seen a lot of terrible anything. I'm more likely to think something is just kind of dull than really bad.

You know, it's true. The weaker stuff this year isn't anywhere near as bad as the worst of previous years. The average quality has gone up.
Most of my keeps are armor, which I did not expect.

if your item can only be destroyed in one highly specific way... it is an artifact and doesn't belong in the competition.

At first I think you are a joke item and start to get annoyed. Upon reading you more closely, I find you thematic and flavorful, with your name being completely appropriate. Bravo good sir, Bravo.
Not SuperStar imo, but the first "cute" item I have liked in the last three years. Definitely shows promise.

I this item! Not sure it's superstar on its own. The powers are not super exciting but the description/flavor is spot on...and I love it. Good on you designer!

There was apparently a void in Paizo's library of earthbreakers and air based items (none together yet), but apparently we collectively fixed that oversight. Go us! :-)! :-)

if your item can only be destroyed in one highly specific way... it is an artifact and doesn't belong in the competition.
And the same pretty much goes for the creation of items as well. One of my big take-aways last year was that anyone can craft your item, as long as he/she has the appropriate feats/spells/what-have-you.
Moderately disguised spell-in-a-can.

Oh, cool weapon... that makes me glad I didn't submit my original idea, as this is thematically very similar, but this one is cooler. Really like the 'twist'.

Yeah staffs come in 2 flavors awesome and crap.
Knowledge of basic math is useful, like knowing that adding a negative number isn't a good thing if you want your final number to be as high as possible.
Are portals the new filigree?
Oh good, I thought it was just me.
For awhile it seemed like every pair had an item that opened a something to somewhere.
Okay, that's a pretty cool shield. The coolest so far.
