After going through the compulsory 2 wondrous items, I had an interesting object paired against a wall of text. After that, the next two pairings were average to bad against the same. And I just could not keep on voting. After only 3 votes.
That was 4 hours ago and I feel like trying again but I fear the same will happen quickly :-(
It helps if your crazy.

Are you supposed to see the same item very close after voting again? I tought you were only supposed to see an item only once, unless you voted a lot.
I am just now seeing my second double and am wondering if there is a glitch in the algorithm or something.
my eyes are already bleeding and I have not slept, why, why did I do this, also, looking like your foe, great way to get murder hobo'd by the rest of the team when they fail sense mo's, cause I am a bad bad man.

The items are almost entirely random. Be prepared to see the same items a number of times the more you vote.

No, you can see the same items a *lot*. And then all of a sudden new stuff shows up.
Curse you, Feros! Curse you and your impeccable timeliness!

Eh, I find failure amusing. Or at least satisfying to crush...maybe I'm a bad person.

I just found my first Weak Keep! It's fun, evocative and stays true to its theme. 19 more to go and then I'm done voting. :-D

Ten more votes and I qualify for my murderhobology scout badge!

OK, that was a close one. I liked them both, but I had to downvote the one that auto-succeeded at what it did. Even though it was a relatively minor tactical advantage, it still should have allowed a check or save.

I'm finding this year I am much more forgiving of people who try something different than playing it safe.

It sounds like *you* were the one who was disarmed.
Entranced by the +3 tablet of enthral long chatter, I make my will save and must go to my job of +1 bread butter and roof over our heads. But the voting pairs call to me....

First weapon higher than +10!
This is fun, I'm sad I missed it in previous years. :)

Time to sleep. This is exactly why you put the magic part first in magic items, you make Drejk fall asleep because he's bored reading the non-magic portion of your magic item's description! Stop making Drejk fall asleep! To be fair, the format of official magic items generally goes:
[Item] is an [adjective, description noun] which functions as a [+x item power weapon].
[Fun stuff ensues].
I'm fine with a short establishing shot so I can get a clear idea between the item name and its description what it is before I know what it does. I'm not going to begrudge people following the format established by published magic items, since that's the point.
I will however vote down items that don't know how to keep that part brief and evocative. It shouldn't take very many words:
"This rod is made from a blackened shin bone and functions a +1 disrupting mace.
Once per day this rod can do something totally radical involving a dance party of the dead. It's so great all hats in the area blow off people's heads unless they succeed at a DC (X) reflex save."
Two items that were clearly originally Wondrous Items! Another first for me thus far...
Thank goodness for the small bladder of distraction! Have fun folks see you tomorrow.
Two items with no cost listed. My heart, it is sad. :(

Seeing a lot of items that grant intimidate bonuses, which makes me think of the Elcor Bubin from the Blasto movie.
"Baddassfully: My magic item is scary."
Hey, I recognize this item from my own research into magical staves from real-world mythology.
That's two fishing rods so far.

Seen my first weapon that is no more than a regular +X, (+X equivalent), (+X equivalent) weapon. Paragraph of backstory, no extra abilities.

A means to perform X-man Nightcrawler style fighting.
While a good idea, I'm sure there's a cheaper way of doing so, though.

Oh dear, an item that very carefully describes that it doesn't actually do anything you can't already do. :(

I've seen several of these, both as shields and weapons if I remember correctly.

Based on previous years, I estimate that I'll have 5-7 Keeps and 13-15 Weak Keeps when I'm done voting. I'm sure there are really good items out there, they're just more elusive than Weak Keeps.
Oops; cost and price wrong way round.
Understandable, as the two terms are often used interchangeably in layman's terms.
Seeing lots of...
- "this item has a head/face/mouth that animates and speaks for the wielder".
-Competence bonuses.
-Items whose construction requirements make no sense.
-This weapon can be thrown as an unexplained energy attack at someone.
Dimension door item vs dimension door item...
Hmm, someone's embedded hyperlinks to all the relevant spells.
That's actually helpful, I wish more did that.
I don't know if that eats up any of their wordcount or not. I hope not.
