I was wondering how many non US/Canada contestants are out there.

I'm from Croatia, and I know of at least 3 more members of PFS Croatia that submitted.

Where are you from?

Blessings of Desna's luck upon you!

As the only non-US judge this year (or ever?), I'm certainly glad to see that there are some international contestants, too. I'm from Finland myself.

I wonder how many percent of the contestants are from outside the USA. According to my blog's site view stats from the last 7 days, the top 10 countries are the USA (71% of views), Finland, the UK, Canada, Germany, France, Denmark, Australia, Russia, and Croatia, in that order. I presume that most of the recent visitors are RPGSS contestants.

Anyway, good luck everyone. :)

It'd be very interesting to hear more about the Pathfinder (and Pathfinder Society) scene in other countries. How many people play, how easy it is to find Pathfinder products in local stores, how popular PF is compared to other RPGs and so on. Anyone want to share stories about PF in your country? :)

Australian here. The site is telling me that I get to start voting 8AM December 18th Australia time. It's now 9AM December 19th and it's still not open... Any ideas if it's going to open up soon? Anticipation is killing me!

I´m from Germany and this is my first year^^ Didn´t even really watch or vote before, since i always was way too busy at this times.

Roleplaying in Germany is mainly done in small friend groups i guess, or in a typical german thing, roleplaying or gaming clubs in different cities. We don´t really have that gaming at stores culture so much somehow. At least, not in most regions.
Also, especially in the gaming clubs, games are diverse. There are many other RPG´s that are very popular, some of german origin, which gives them some advance. Among the DSA (the black eye), Midgard, Splittermond (new game), Numenera, Fate, Shadowrun and many more. D&D5 is more of a minor occurance here at the moment it seems to me.
PFS could be way more popular here, but that´s what the other german VO´s and i are working on^^ Pathfinder is known by most or nearly all gamers by now, and if only by name.

I think the PFS scene here in our small Croatia is relavitely big for our standards. There are sessions once a week, every week and we often average on 3 full tables (at the only gaming store we have in town which does have some of the Pathfinder products), also, there are conventions where PFS is always played. My gf is the VC, and she gets quite busy with it all.

We also play PF at home, have been playing it since it came out, upgraded from 3.5 to Pathfinder, and we mostly play Pathfinder adventure paths.

How popular it is to other RPGs? I'm not a good person to ask that, but I think most people play PF, but other systems are popular as well (GURPS being second in command I think).

Well, speaking for English speakers in Japan, I'd say there are loads of players but getting connected is pretty difficult, which is why we started a Facebook Group. Most players are here on yearly contracts so the pool keeps changing.

On the other hand, there isn't a Japanese translation of the rules as far as I know, and I don't know any Japanese players personally. That's a real shame though, because I have many students that play CoC and other RPGs.

As for availability, the books can be bought off Amazon.co.jp or at Yellow Submarine, which has branches throughout the country. You can also order books through any good book store, which is how I got my Bestiary 3.

Sugeeee! I know Yellow Submarine -- I visit the store every time I go to Tokyo! I didn't know they had branches in other cities, too. It'd be pretty damn awesome to play Pathfinder Society the next time I'm in Tokyo if there is a local group there...

Swedish RPG scene is pretty difficult. The major cities have some of us, and the cons are somewhat different from American ones and gaining visitors every year. Still, isn't finding a group pretty rough everywhere?

I've been wondering about the conspicuous lack of Swedes (and Norwegians) in RPG Superstar. I mean, how can Finns beat their beloved neighbors if they don't enter the contest... ;)

You're welcome to make the 2 hour train ride out to come play with us.

I know of Yellow Submarine in Shinjuku, Akihabara and Hiroshima. There's one in Kyoto too. But they might not all sell Pathfinder. Akihabara has the best collection I've seen in Japan so far.

It is okay not to be lagom when competing against other Nordic countries.
