What about Far-Reaching Sight for a gunslinger sniper??? it let's you resolve against touch AC at any range increment. Combine that with Sniper's Goggles and you can basically hit from ridiculous ranges against touch AC. This will make it so you can hit from an absurd range without worry of being noticed. For example at a range of 160ft and a Stelath roll of 10 with 1 Rank of Stealth(Preferred Skill) and Dex Modifier of +2:

PC Stealth: -20(Sniping) + 6(Stealth Skill Total) + 10(Die Roll) = -4
Enemy Perception DC: -4(PC Stealth) + 16(Range) = 12(Perception DC)

In my opinion kobolds are really good for sniper builds. They are small, and the damage doesn't matter too much because of sneak attack. Also, they get a racial feat that let's them snipe with only a -10 penalty. Thete are rogue talents that do this with a level 10 prerequisite. All is feat takes is ONE rank of stealth. You also can get another feat which let's you move quickly during stealth. Probably my favorite race for snipers. (Of course the kobolds are snipers. "I'll shine from a safe distance thank you very much!")

Mind telling me which feat that is? I'm still not a big fan of their adjustments for a lot of reasons, but really, sniper isn't something you can do that great in PF, at least not without some rogue talents.

Kobold ambusher and kobold sniper. They are both in the advanced race guide. Their penalties don't matter too much because they would try to stay out of view. They're already good at stealth before kobold ambusher. It'd also be nice to see them shine. I feel kobolds have really good racial feats. I'd link this but I'm posting this from my phone.

Sorry about that, PFsrd still hasn't updated the double barrel pistol to be a standard action to shoot both barrels. I recently watched Critical role, which got me interested into D&D, and my friend just invited me to play a Pathfinder. Wanted to play a dual wielding gunslinger, and found this guide and the message board.

Do you have any recommendations in what to multi-class into after level 5?

If you are serious about dual wielding, Juggler Bard. Possibly combined with Busker. You'll need some Charisma if you want to get the most out of it, so look over Mysterious Stranger.

That might be a little too late. I'm already playing the character, was just going to go for gun twirling.

Hey, sweet guide, sorry for bumping this discussion though (feels like I'm a necromancer now)

In all seriousness though, after making my charismatic gunslinger I noticed the lack of love for mysterious stranger in your guide, which I can understand. However I came to present my build outline as an idea for things to note in your guide.

The Charismatic gunslinger:

Mysterious Stranger 1, Trench Fighter 3, Paladin 16

Level 1: Noble Scion
(This has to be taken at level 1, but it gives us our Cha to Initiative, alternatively you can take rapid reload, if you don't take noble scion consider yourself a feat ahead.)
Level 2: Rapid Reload
Level 3: Weapon Focus, Point Blank Shot
Level 5: Gunslinger

Level 7: Rapid Shot (or precise if you've been having issues)
Level 9: Precise Shot
Level 11: Clustered Shots
Clustered Shots is really nice to have right now as you're getting 3 attacks or 4 with rapid shot

Level 13: TWF or Hammer the gap or Snap Shot or Combat reflexes
Level 15: ITWF or Deadly Aim or Snap Shot or Imp Precise or Imp Snap Shot or TWF
Level 17: GTWF or Deadly Aim or Snap Shot or Imp Precise or Imp Snap Shot or TWF or ITWF
Level 19: Deadly Aim or Snap Shot or Imp Precise or Imp Snap Shot or TWF or ITWF or GTWF
This is all essentially additional attacks/benefits from the build

Things to note:

  • You get both dex and CHA to damage, along with cha to hit and paladin level to damage against evil creatures.
  • You get Cha to all saves and init.
  • Training on weapons can increase your combat feat slots by 1 per weapon, use these feats as capstones or standalone feats for which you don't need as a requirement (deadly aim, GTWF, etc.).
  • Shadowshooting firearms allow you to retrain out that rapid reload feat in place of another one.
  • If you retrain for deific obedience and worship arshea you get an armor bonus equal to your charisma, which stacks with things such as
the deflection bonus from being incorporeal (ghost syrup and amulet of grasping souls), or scaled fist monk.

Great guide (as I've come to expect from N. Jolly). I've re-read it recently because I'm looking at a gun-wielding Eldritch Archer for a Guns Everywhere Victorian-ish setting. A couple of questions on that:

1) Since you talk in the guide about there being little reason to stay in Gunslinger past L5 for Gun Training, should you never take more than 1 level in a "Guns Everywhere" game, since it gives Gun Training at L1 in that setting? Seems like That would make a perfect dip for a gun-wielding Magus, but I didn't really see anything about how the different gun rarity levels affect choices (besides early/advanced firearm).

2) Your thoughts on the "Roving Range" trait? Seems like anything that increases range increments would merit a mention (especially with guns' typically-pitiful ranges), but I didn't see it in the guide.

Silver Crusade

Update to the guide, the Legendary Gunslinger and archetypes have been added.
