Hello, im from Brazil and it's the third time im being taxed on orders from paizo, which have zero taxes as they are mostly books. But due to the lack of info on the cover of the packages or any info at all about the contents of the package, they are taxing it as games or toys, and i have to pay almost twice the original cost.
This time, and it's the third time, was on Order 3322046. I sent an e-mail in the past to customer service about this issue, because im being forced to pay an extra 30-40 USD on orders, which i shouldnt have.
The first two times i paid the taxes so i could get my hands on my packages, but this time im not going to waste any more money on this.
The issue is that they are looking at the package, try to figure out what are the contents, and simply put a tax on it. I know it's not paizo's fault, but the description of the package could help on this issue.
All i can do is ask for a review of the tax, which takes about 3 months to get solved, and when it does, i have to pay again to cover process costs.
If this keep happening, i will probably have to cancel my subscription.

I'm sorry to hear that happened again! Since that order did only contain books, it should have been marked as books on our label. It sounds like the post office keeps relabeling them at some point in transit.
I feel like this has been popping up more often. I'll see who to pass this along to find out more information and if there is a fix for that.
If you decide you do need to cancel the subscription, just let know.

I had this issue to the UK on order 3290793 (16th Oct) and sent an email to customer services. As I said then, if there is anyone we can complain to in the USA about this, please let us know. Do you have a government body that overseas the postal service? This incorrect relabelling of the customs information on parcels would be fraud if done by an individual to avoid taxes!

Im not sure if they are wrong labelled or if the label is just not visible enough, because on the other time i wrote you guys about it, i did double check and did see a "book" label on the package, but it was a small text that could easily be missed if you werent looking specifically for it.
For now i will petition for a review on my local carrier and see how it goes, it should take two to three months to get my hand on my package though.

I took a look at your order history and all of your orders have been labelled 'Books' in the detailed description. As far as we can tell this is the post relabeling it when it goes through customs. Likely as 'Merchandise' as that is the broader category books fall into.
The packages are being sent out through Standard Post. This means that UPS Mail Innovations (MI) is picking them up from us and carrying them as close to you as possible, then transferring them to your local post for final delivery. I don't have a way to tell if this relabeling is happening with UPS MI, or with your local post. That is also beyond our control. We label them 'Books' when we ship them.
