Company and Settlement Tools Needed for MVP / Early EE (Month 1)

Rather than necro a thread from 2013, I felt it best to start one since we are fairly close to EE.

Company tools:

Obviously, setting up and joining or inviting members to join companies needs to be streamlined. I'm failry certain this is in the works, and hopoefully will be included in the next patch.

The other features that are needed:

1. Company accumulation of Influence. Even if there are no feuds or wars to spend this on for some time, I believe that accumulation through grouped activities or as an affiliated member of a company, should begin to fill the Influence Bank.

2. Company shared storage / bank.

3. Settlement Sponsorship streamlined (as above).

4. Settlement Development Index view. This feature, currently part of the WoT, is not fully functioning. A Settlements index should show:

Holdings (# of Towers)
Affiliations (# of Companies)
Total Population (# of Citizens)
Total Influence in Bank / Earnings in last week, month
Traing Index
Crafting Index
PVE Index (escalations, achievements)
PVP Index
Reputation Setting:
Overall DI Score

Ideally, all of this would be in by day one of EE. However, it is likley that it won't be.

None of these are MVP, but they would all be nice to have. And why are you posting this again? It seems like I have seen you post a variation on this list every week.

Ryan made it pretty clear to me what the MVP is, and as a Software guy, I know what it's like having a bunch of people with basically zero experience telling you how do do things. We play game, very few members of this community have any development experience.

MVP:
- Characters can log in
- There are static monsters to kill and loot
- There are static nodes to harvest
- You can craft upgrades
- Basic grouping mechanics
- You can progress your character (buy feats)

Influence shouldn't be turned on until there are things to spend it on, the UNC doesn't need to amass influence you you have a huge surplus to spend on feuding.

Company storage is nice and all, but needs a lot of customizable access controls, something that will need to be thoroughly focus tested on Zog after EE starts.

I'll give you the settlement sponsorship point, but I would hope that is in the patch they've pushed back 2 weeks now. Although, I would prefer settlements to be the base organization until companies can help other companies defend towers, without capturing them.

The UNC does not intend to spend influence on feuds, if we don't have to. We intend to get other companies to spend their influence to feud us.

Only if they end up losing, or we end up making more profit from their feud than we lost, would we consider using our own influence to extend the conflict.

We do not see the feud mechanic as access to PvP, but rather a response to it or a punishment for it. It can be used as a currency to hire mercenaries (at least in theory), although I'm sure this will be a long ways down the EE road.

Access to PvP will be decided on a few basic questions:

1. Have I spent most of my available XP?
2. Do I suspect the target is worth the Reputation hit?
3. How bored are we?
4. How long before I may have to train again?
