I think I'm going to fire up a game in a homebrew setting I'd like to flesh out. I have 2 ideas for this setting.
1) Is a water world. The only land on the planet is two enormous rings, one inside the other, formed by an astroid impact tens of thousands of years ago. The outter ring is partially populated. Recently, visionaries have taken to exploring the inner ring, which they found to be saturated with precious metals.
2) Consists of numerous mountaintop settlements that formed when the low lands became uninhabitable. Travel to and from settlements is mostly by airship. The land below holds many ruins, but is extremely hostile and unable to house settlements.
Magic does not exist in either world. We will, however, be utilizing the DSP psionics system. Story on psionics is as follows. Only a generation ago, a race of aliens known as illithids found a way to the planet through some sort of gate effect. Waves came through in search of something, and unexpected psionic potential awoke in the minds of the indigenous. This event is now known as The Awakening.
Tech will also exist in both worlds, the source of which will be the githyanki, who tracked the mind flayers here only a few years ago. If you can get their tech from them, it's your's. But be warned, they don't really like to play nice either, lol.
If you can only post once a day, please don't apply. I'd like some folks that can post several times per day. If enough interest is shown, I'll give details on character creation.

FYI for anyone as well, I picture both these settings favoring lightly armored dex builds. Part because the heavy use of ships, and part because advanced tech renders armor useless. This does not mean that you can't use medium or heavy armor, just that you would have to craft it yourself, and you may be gawked at for wearing it. NPC's will be wearing light armor or no armor.

I like them both a lot, but the water world gives me a nice opportunity for why the mind flayers showed up.
The only down side to the water world is that, so far, I've been unable to tweak it to my liking as perfectly as I've been able to the mountain one. You may notice I've edited that one a couple times, lol. That's cuz I'm still toying with the idea, trying to make it make sense. Its looking decent now though

Are you considering any classes that aren't psionic?
I'm more interested in mountain than water. It seems like there's a lot more opportunity for adventure there than there is for the water one. Assuming that I haven't gotten the wrong idea about it being 'not fit for habitation' due to monsters and such.
Assuming no nonpsionics are available, I've been really interested in trying out a Cryptic since I learned of their existence :)

Non psionic classes are very common. I just labled it a psionic game because magic will be replaced with psionics.
I also think the mountain top one seems like a rich environment. The water world one has some cool stuff behind it too though, but I'd rather keep it a secret for now.
Maybe I could mix the two by putting an enormous island in the center of the rings.
