Useless Raw Materials ?

Yesterday, I have spent some times gathering materials (Trash/Vegetal) around RiverBank.

What did i found:

Superior Hemp
Potent Brimstone
Potent Fennel Seeds
Potent Chickweed

I found nowhere what to do with Brimstone, Fennel Seeds and Chickweed, any hint ?

If you mouse over them, what do they tell you they can be used for? Weak Sedative? Flammable? or whatever?

Silver.

Given its excessive drop rate (nearly on par with iron or coal) unless there is some massive need for it we haven't experienced yet it will soon be worthless and usually left on the node once encumbrance exists.

A number of weapons can be made with Silver and Iron, that don't need coal.

So if the difficulty of acquiring coal is very high, silver will become more valuable as an alternative.

Well if you don't want your silver, give it to me. Have some nice silver iron recipes for weapons and such to use it with. :-)

As a smelter, my character will need plenty of silver to make Silvered Steel for Tier 2 and Truesilver for Tier 3. Still, I will need iron as well, and I seem to get more silver than iron much of the time.

Superior hemp is used by weavers to make things like twine and cloth. Tailors use those things to make suits of light armor like wizards' robes, and to make utility slot items like caps, shoes and gloves.

As Bunibuni and DexiusBrutus said, brimstone, fennel seeds and chickweed are used by apothecaries to make extracts. Those extracts are then used by alchemists to make weapons like alchemist's fire and choking bombs, and to make potions with effects like speed, healing, and resistance to fire, cold, or acid.
