Does this infinite loop work?

Rules Questions

So an arcanist has the Siphon Spell exploit and the Allied Spellcaster teamwork feat. The party cleric has the Allied Spellcaster feat.

The cleric and arcanist both have light prepared. They stand adjacent, and the cleric casts light on a small stone, receiving +1 caster level due to the feat. Then the cleric moves away, and the arcanist uses Siphon Spell on the light spell. Due to their high Charisma and various modifiers to dispel checks, they will almost always beat the DC by a minimum of 5, and usually by 10. Rinse, repeat.

Does this mean that the arcanist can charge their reservoir essentially for free, and at 20th level cast spells indefinitely via magical supremacy?

Doesn't it take a point to activate the Siphon Spell ability int he first place?

Sovereign Court

Siphon Spell only works when greater disruption is activated which cost 1 arcane point, so no, it's not free and top of it, it's a touch attack.

Actually seems legit. Personally, I'd recommend finding another way of increasing the cleric's effective caster level by one... (I'm a little iffy about the wording in that feat)... but if the check consistently comes out 10 greater than the DC, yep.

It does look like it works. 1 arcane point to greater disruption, and as long as you beat the DC by 5, you get that point back. If you beat the DC by 10, you get 2 points back.

Although, as far as action economy goes, its pretty bad.
Cleric cast light (standard)
Arcanist greater disruption (standard). About 50/50 chance of getting 2 points back.

Also you'd have to be at least level 13 to do this, and any reasonable GM would probably just say no to it anyway, but RAW it works.

I'd strongly recommend you find another source of increase in caster level, that doesn't have the word "For" after it.. =P

That feat only increases your effective caster level for all variables in the spell. One could argue that would not actually increase the caster level of the spell.
