Hello everyone,
I am playing a Paladin in a Wrath of the Righteous game (big surprise there). When the game initially began, I clearly pictured her going into the Guardian Mythic Path since it fits her personality and attitude quite well. After digging up somewhat, I did find out however that apparently most of the goodies for playing a tankish, hard hitting paladin stem from the Champion path - namely Mythic Smite, so I pondered going Champion/Hierophant (Inspired Spell is simply amazing)
I was inexperienced with the Mythic rules back when I created the character, and I still am, but I would like to stick with the Guardian concept. On the one the GM does not wish superimposition of Mythic paths, and on the other I guess it is possible to make the Guardian work.
My initial tendency would be to head towards Dual Path Guardian/Champion, and grab Mythic Smite right away. But I am not sure if dual path is a good option. I have also pondered Masrshal, but truth is my character is not only a commander or bolsterer of others - she is most of the time in the thick of things, and again, I am not very knowlegeable as far as Mythic Paths are concerned.

As things stand currently, the character is as follows:
Female Demon-Spawn Tiefling Oracle 1/Paladin (Oath of Vengeance) of Iomedae 3
Str 18, Dex 12, Con 15, Int 12, Wis 12, Cha 20
Feats: Fey Foundling, Power Attack
Traits: purity of faith, suicidal
Skills Diplomacy +12, Heal +7 (+8 circumstance to treat wounds or deadly wounds), Knowledge (local) +5, Knowledge (planes) +7, Knowledge (religion) +5, Ride +4, Sense Motive +6
--
Group is made up of a VERY hard hitting fighter (fighting 2-handed), a swashbuckler, a Life Oracle and a Wizard (and we just lost our ranger - archery focused). So I was vying for a tankish paladin that cannot simply be ignored.
Any suggestions on how to build a decent Mythic Guardian (maybe dual path) Paladin from those out there more experienced at this than I am?

Wellllllll....
First why a lvl of oracle? And what mystery? You have an oracle.
Second you would not need oath of vengeance if you dual path into mythic smite. Early its good but once you have mythic smite I know you will never need the oath of vengeance. Is the choice from optimization point?
An oath of vengence seems it would go into champion route.
When it comes to the mythic choices the power tends to be Archmage> Champion > Heirophant> Trickster > Defender> Marshal. Atleast in power and usefulness. But Mythic is so broken anything will do. I doubt you can go wrong with any choices.
Here is what I suggest. Get mythic smite somehow. It is like a p aladins bread and butter. After that look at legendary Item from the universal path. Hands down it is one of the strongest choices. After that just pick things you like and think you will use on a regular.
If your using a sword and board then you are using radiance from the drop you found. Awesome cause it will be used all the way through. Your cover ed d on your weapon.
As for your legendary item pick either armor or shield. Doing this will basically eliminate 70% of ypur gear cost and will allow you to throw all your money at wonderous items and expendables. If the wizard crafts wonderous items your going to be decked out in top of the line gear. So that takes a lot of stress off you when it comes to picking your path abilities because you already are sitting really pretty as a well armed paladin.

Dual Path is pretty good. And guardian allows for some great tanky abilities. Here's what I would propose for mythic ranks
Rank 1: Feat(Dual Path) - Ability(Mythic Smite)
Rank 2: Ability(Fast Healing 5)
Rank 3: Feat(Extra Path Ability) Abiltiy(Fast Healing 10, DR 5/Epic)
I'm assuming that you can grab Mythic Smite at Tier 1, since I don't know what it's requirements are.

I totally forgot that It was legendary. I can not remember everything from my play through. All I know is Mythic was one of the easiest campaigns I've played through and the only time I felt our party could "fail" was the army to army combat...and to be honest I think our party of 4 could kill entire armies alone at that point.
Even still knocking off 120,630 gp out of your expenses leaves you enough funds to pimp yourself out. If that Wizard takes craft wondrous Items then your defiantly gonna be blinged out.

You may wish to check out Bodhi's Guide to the Optimal Paladin & Antipaladin, which also includes information for Mythic characters in a separate section at the end. That may be a good place to begin.
