Starting OP in San Francisco

I am surprised that there isn't already Organized play set up in the San Francisco Bay Area. I've recently spoke to the organizer of an upcoming gaming convention in the bay area and he said he's played PACG but no one has stepped up to run it -- I volunteered and was hoping maybe we could run the first OP at the convention. Is this a possibility considering theres no OP officials in the area?

Hi, I would suggest touching base with either Joshua Archer and/or John and Wendy-Ann Francis as they are the VO's closest to the San Francisco area.

You don't mention which convention this is, but I would be interested to know, as the BAPS members have been very supportive of the Bay Area conventions over the years, so this is... surprising.

We are trying to set up OP at a LGS in Concord. If you are interested, shoot me a PM and I'll pass you the contact info I was given for the coordinator

Draight, if you'd like to run PACG at the convention, please go ahead and do so. We can talk about what it takes to get set up for it, but if you're interested and motivated, you sound like a great candidate!

Please contact us (email adress on list of regional cordinators for PFS) if you have an opportunity for PFACGOP to get into a con. We are working on getting OP play into some of our local stores, but would love to see it as one our cons. Which con did you talk to?

Which convention?

We intend to support the PACG along with PFS at the three conventions we currently support with PFS: DundraCon, KublaCon, and PacifiCon.

However, I know of at least three other gaming conventions in the Bay Area that we are not supporting in any official way.

Regardless, we'd love to have more folks help coordinate the PACG in the Bay Area and at our conventions.

FYI - Wendy-Ann and I are working with a couple of local players to try and get PACGOP running in a few stores in the South Bay and points south (actively talking to four, with another five possibilities identified as well).

We were trying to get it running at Pacificon, but that just wasn't possible. We're also looking at trying to schedule joint demo days with both the PACG and PFS Quests, to act as teasers for the PAGCOP release later this month.

Just wanted to add my two cents... as one of the local players trying to get PACG OP up and running in the Bay Area (Silicon Valley, specifically), John and Wendy-Ann have been both super helpful and incredibly responsive.

Lots being lined up for South Bay Silicon Valley area but lots of moving parts. :)
At the same time with scenarios being weekly, more people volunteering = better.
Again just my humble opinion.
All answers defer to John and Wendy-Ann (and Paizo) for final adjudication. ;)

Cool it sounds like there are a couple of active VO's close to me. Thank you Virdigris! I am constantly impressed with the speed at which this community runs =)

Rob, quick correction:

Fresno's games are from 6-8. Also, we have a Facebook group (Central Valley PFS Adventure Card Guild) where events will be posted each week. That's where people can sign up for games each week.

Any chance for anything north of Oakland? Tried to get one going at Black Diamond Games in Concord but no luck. Live in Vallejo and trying to find an OP nearby
