License to Game: An Hour With Ryan Dancey

The sound quality gets a little rough at a couple of spots with some echoes, but I could clearly understand Ryan throughout.

Insightful and fascinating, both on history and the future: thanks for the link, Nihimon!

Yeah, I really need better (and more portable) equipment. I don't know anybody good at this stuff though, so my brother and I are learning as we go.

I really enjoyed the interview. Thanks for linking it.

Between Chinese bookbinding and pdf sales, I hope Paizo does make money on the non-core books, as opposed to the old TSR model.

Veeeery interesting interview (good interviewer and interviewee: It takes 2 two Tango as the saying goes).

What stood out for me the most was the way Ryan mentioned how unpredictable confluences were often important in how things shaped up.
Kinda interesting how the players seem to be the best sovereigns of an IP, in the end?! At least that was my take from the interview... !

Good question on "was it Pathfinder or was it an MMO?"

Maybe it's redundant if as per Ryan mentioning, at these various stages it provides "opportunity for conflict". Also combines with the idea of licensing the online aspect and the financial choices behind that.

I've been doing Fear the Boot for eight years now and podcasting in general for almost ten. ;) Send me a PM with your questions.

Dan is the best there is in podcasting.

Everything I know about podcasting I learned from him ( without his knowledge ). We are brothers of the Atomic, Consistent, Isolated, and Durable Reflux so I can guarantee everything he says is TOP.

I wish you could post it to YouTube or something. Still can't get to that website.

I'm such a nice guy that I'm going to go back in time and have done that ages ago! I have a TARDIS, y'see!

Here's my YouTube channel: https://youtube.com/user/RussellMorrissey1974/featured

And here's that specific video (it's over an hour long, so set aside some time):

Important question: was the tardis ever Red, instead of Blue? Long, long ago? I am having a discussion with my son about this and he assures me it *always* was blue. The internet(Google search) is not on my side, so I am afraid I am going to lose this one.

From what I understand, the Doctor's Tardis has always been blue with two exceptions.

1. When first acquired it was just a metal tube on the outside, shown in "The Name of the Doctor".

2. During "The Happiness Patrol" it was temporarily painted pink but returned to blue at the end.

It has also changed form but that's not really your question. That was wonderfully off track but I hope it answers your question.

Bummer! :) Loving the pics! Sorry for the derail, back to the interview!

It was a really great interview. I'm still thinking about the part where Ryan asked "how many people get to do what they dreamed about when they were 12 years old?" It resonates...
