Verminous Hunter Critique

Advice

So, I've got a new game coming up an I'm looking to see if what I've got planed is solid. We'll be doing the Serpent's Skull Adventure Path and the other party members are:

Grippili Gunslinger
Goblin Alchemist
Elven Arcanist

My hunter and his Animal Companion.

Any suggestions would be welcome and I'll try to answer any questions as soon as I can.

Comments? You sure?

OK, the Elven über-wizard I can get.
But why in the name of Aroden would he hang out with a Goblin Doctor Jekyl?
And a frog with a six-gun? I think my kids watched that movie a couple years back.

I think this is the main reason why I cringe at the idea of letting players run rampant in the advanced race guide. What is it somebody called it the other day... oh yes, the "special snowflake syndrome".

Honestly, your vermin hunter is the most thematically satisfying PC of th lot, with the possible exception of the elf. Go with it!

Still, I can't help suggesting that two of your party might be better off as targets for a vermin hunter. <g>

The Serpent's Skull adventure path starts you off shipwrecked on an island, so the why is largely covered by necessity. Frog-man was traveling home to his native jungle lands (where the ship was actually headed) & the goblin's a stowaway.

As for why they are playing them, well... your pretty on the nose with Mr Frog. He likes to be the odd-man out but loves it more when he's treated as such. He hates when GMs see whatever odd thing he's got brewing and just has the local populace just act cool with it. As for the Goblin... his real life personality is more Goblin than I want to admit...

While I understand why people dislike "special snowflake syndrome," and it gets real tiring real fast to play with the Aasimar with the bastard father and dead mother for the sixth time in the row, the ARG exists so that people can go a little crazy with it. It's really fun to get to play with/as a gunslinging frog and crazy goblin Dr. Frankenstein.

It's fantasy, go insane. You're Vermin Hunter will be right at home.
