Seeking GM for Book 2 of Way of the Wicked

Recruitment

We are a group of 4 wicked characters and we finished Book 1 of Way of the Wicked a while ago. We are currently at the town of Farholde, waiting to start our next mission, but we need a GM.

If you feel like it, please sign below and tell us a little about you. We are searching for an experienced GM that can post at least twice a day, since we are a group of frequent players. Also, we like to do stuff that may not be written on the book, nothing too serious, really, but we might try to have a conversation with someone that we're not supposed to, or seek some advantage that the book does not state.

The players are quite dedicated (just take a look at our previous Gameplay thread and you will see), so we would like to have a GM who can run for this weird party. There are no psionics nor anything unusual, aside from the rogue's ability (rumormonger) and from a necromancer wizard who might as well try to raise the whole town as undeads.

A little more about our group:

  • Gameplay Thread
  • Composed of: Anti-paladin; Barbarian; Rogue; Wizard (we will recruit a divine caster later), all of which are very tough, and currently at 6th level;
  • We favor roleplay as much as combat;
  • We like to have maps;
  • Our loot is tightly controlled by the players;

    Anything else, just ask. Thanks.

  • Bump..

    Up, please.

    I said UP!

    How wicked are you?

    Argan is guided by the "survival of the fittest" rule.
    Vlad is freaking damphir anti-paladin that likes to bite young ladies.
    Kharn is the almost-not-evil barbarian of the group who usually does not torture for fun, but retaliates savagely in any case. He has a stolen familiar from the Magister (owl - Sir Reginold).
    Lil is a crazy hyperactive damphir cruoromancer who wants to raise whatever she sees, it seems.

    On a 0 to 10 I would say we're 6 on the wicked level.

    Also I would like to point out that the previous DM allowed Lil to be CE which I know doesn't sit well with some DMs. However her wisdom score is low enough that I roleplay her being very easy to manipulate and control so she doesn't get out of hand. However I would be willing to change her to NE if it made an incoming DM feel more comfortable.

    What keeps the group together?

    In a short phrase, "The Contract".. We each have something personal to gain from completing our mission, I for example was promised my faimilies holdings in Ghastenhall as well as the opportunity to rid my father of his head..

    Despite their sometimes hate for one anther they do get along quite nicely.. There's the occasional jab between Vlad and Argan, but it's never been anything serious.

    I personally have a few things that were house ruled into effect as well. If you wish to know more ill go into details..

    Ugh. You guys are amazing, trying to keep the group together. I've stories of an all evil campaign going awry.

    Indeed, they're so dedicated that they would run the game without a GM is possible. One of the most stable groups I've ever come across on the boards.

    Levitate!

    I'm sorry, I'm not the right GM for this, since I didn't collect Way of the Wicked. :(

    My questions are quite obvious to me that I was asking about the party's state of affairs in an all evil campaign. :)

    No problem man, we understand it. At least the next ones will have more information. ^_^

    Bump it to the top! Surely someone wants to run an evil mastermind group..

    ”Vengence will be mine! Talingard will burn! Fear not, The Prince of Nessus will see to your needs!” says the cardinal, in his eyes an unholy fire burning with divine purpose and fury!

    Bump. :D

    What is a fourth campaign to those who already have three, Aku?

    Thanks for helping!

    Stop sending our thread to the bottom of the list, people!

    Bump it to the top!

    I'll take a look at the campaign and your characters, as well as my schedule to make sure I can handle it. In the meantime, if anyone else wants to take this, feel free.

    Also, feel free to look at the Serpent's Skull game I am currently GMing to make sure that I'd fit with you.

    One thing that has kept me from posting here before is the fact that--while I can do it now--I may not be able to post more than once a day as work gets busier and school starts. But as it has now been almost two weeks since this first came up--and you all seem very dedicated to finding someone--I figured I'd look at offering what I can.

    From what I can tell you run a very detailed and organized game, IMHO you look like a great DM. And I would take a slow pace high quality game over the reverse any day, glad to see you taking interest! Feel free to ask any and all questions, I know there's a lot to take in.

    I play in some games that are fast pace and less involved.. With Vlad i would rather be more involved as well.. He's actually one of my more flavorful characters so going slower for a better quality game is fine by me..

    They told me good stuff about the campaign you mentioned, so I'll trust it, as I'm out of time to verify it myself at this moment, but I'll do it this weekend ^_^

    Alright. I've been reading through, color me intrigued. So let me start by telling you a bit about myself:

    -I started table top rpg with pathfinder, and while i've tried a few others, I keep coming back to it.
    -I prefer role play over roll play, but think that both have their place.
    -I've run online games before, but this would only be my second on the paizo forums.
    -The map system I would prefer to use is roll20.net, as it gives me great tools to use and you control over your pieces.

    Do you have any questions for me? I know I have some, but I feel they can all wait until we've determined whether or not I'll take over this game. They mostly center around any key character points etc., as I prefer to personalize the games I run.

    As a heads up, I am not trying to interrupt the search or anything. I noticed you guys don't have a divine caster, and the Way of the Wicked path opens up one of my favorite archetypes. Fiendish Vessel. If you guys start recruiting feel free to drop me a message or something! (Also, I think I know one of you. DM Omen is running a homebrew set game I'm in! Granted, it might not be a good thing that he knows me, but I don't think I've inspired him to homicidal rage yet!)

    From what I can tell you look like a pretty solid GM. I suppose my only question is: are you ok with going a little off the written AP? Not derailing or taking it an entire other direction, just trying to influence things in creative ways like Argan's rumor ability.

    Ah hello Marko. Yes we discusses recruiting a new divine caster but we wanted to hold off until we had a committed GM.

    Yes, definitely alright with that. To me that's the purpose of these game, being able to do what you want to and effect/create the world. As an aside, rumormonger is actually one of my favorite abilities. It's one of those abilities that is only limited by your imagination. I've used it before to create some pretty interesting situations.

    Yeah, tell me about it. Unfortunately, I can also steal the spotlight for quite a while with that, so I try to keep it light.

    I'm talking to the others, but I have no questions atm ^_^

    I saw! It seemed you guys were worried about getting a divine caster before a GM and then having him lose interest. I've got a lot of patience for good games. (Waited almost a year for one game before it finally became clear the DM wasn't interested in it anymore.) Anyway, I have been dying to play both this adventure path and a Fiendish Vessel cleric, and I like lots of detail with my writing. If you guys want feel free to check me out in any of the three games I'm in.. also apologies if this is too forward. XD Saw a chance and had to jump on it.

    I have no questions atm I would just like to add that a couple of us have houseruled things from previous GM's and would like to keep them that way. I think it's mostly me and I can explain them if you wish.

    As far as maps go I can access Roll20 at home butnot at work, so i would have no avartar movement abilities during work hours, but as long as noone minds moving me about i have no issues.

    That would be great. I did see in Vladamir's profile the way of the vampire feats with the Moroi Vampire and those ones seem fine and self explanatory to me. I did have a question about the laying waste system that I saw in Argan's profile. Is that one of the house rules you all are attached to? I only looked over it, but it seems kind of strange and if you're not attached to it I'd probably ask to get rid of that one, but I'm willing to run it if that's what you want. Any other houserules you'd like to mention?

    We've given Laying to Waste a try last month, but I believe it's a consensus we're leaving it. It's an interesting adition, but it makes you need too many rolls, which on PBP don't really work out well, I think.

    I personally have no prob getting rid of the laying waste thing.. IMO it caters to monster more at our levels, especially large ones.

    Jammin:

    In addtion to the alt bloodline template Vlad has the Oath of Violence archtype. We basically mirroed the paladins Oath of Vengence with some changes to spells. In addition we added the spell Villian's Defiance which is a mirror to the paladins spell Hero's Defiance. He also has been granted access to an Imp for his Feindish Companion.

    I for one am completely against those rules for various reasons, the most prevelant one being balance.

    I did most of the homebrewing for Vlad and everything is mechanically balanced except for his more powerful vampire template, which I intended to balance out flavor wise by applying some hunger and feeding rules.

    The template isn't very much more powerful than a reggie vamp and is deff set even by the hunger rule, which are also under his profile. Things will get very nasty if he doesn't get to feed frequently.. It is my intention to have many feeding slaves at my dispense once we get the Horn up and running though.. Hopefully by then Lil can craft my Darkness item or you won't see me around much in the daytime lol.. Which costs 10k crafted btw. For a protective penumbra continuous wondrous item anyways

    Okay, I can agree with those goals/objects/rules. So, I guess I'm officially putting my hat in as GM. If you choose to accept me, I'd need about a week to re-read through the book and prepare--including a few questions about character goals, important events (from your char's perspective) that have happened, in game relations, etc.

    So, what do y'all think?

    We think you're both ok, so please join us on the previous discussion thread, if your don't mind! You too Marko.

    I´m also on the search to continue WotW after the old game i was in disappeared mysteriously somehow.
    Should be at the end of book 1 i guess.

    Walter das Sombras, haven´t you been in that game too?

    Actually yes, I was the one cheering for the good guys. True Repentance disappeared from the board. He was our divine caster (oracle).
