Ultra Pro adventure case - when available?

Pathfinder Adventure Card Game General Discussion

Hi,

When will the adventure case for 1200 sleeved cards be available?
My Completed rise of the runelords set is deserving this cool storage solution.
How much will it be?
Will it be available, through amazon, in particular amazon.de?
Just want to save shipping costs as it could be very bulky...

Myfly,

UltraPro is still working out price and availability.

Vic, do you think the sleeves are still going to be available (and shipping) this month? Or would it be better to just pick them up at GenCon and save the shipping?

And do you think the case will be available for GenCon at the earliest?

I thought that I saw that the non-case version off the sleeves were now available (as in not preorder).

EDIT: Yeah, according to the product page, the single pack ships in 2 to 14 business days.

Grand Lodge

Thanks, Hawkmoon. Sadly, I have the case in Preorder. I'll have to call and find out.

Paizo Employee Chief Technical Officer

The sleeves are technically an August release, though we received some in advance for PaizoCon.

The Adventure Case will *not* be ready for August—I haven't approved a sample yet, so I expect it's still a few months out.

Thanks, Vic. I did call customer service and they let me know that the single packs of 50 are leftovers from PaizoCon and that you haven't received the cases yet.

Would it be smarter for me to cancel my preorder and simply buy them at GenCon? Would the discounted price on the website be a wash because of shipping? (I know that if I purchase them at the Paizo booth that I'll get my subscriber discount.)

Paizo Employee Chief Technical Officer

We *should* have the sleeves at Gen Con, and your subscriber discount will apply at the show. Though you won't pay shipping at the booth, you will pay sales tax appropriate for Indianapolis. I'm not sure which is better for you, but if they ship along with your subscription shipment, the additional shipping costs will be negligible (and possibly even zero).

As far as the case goes, can I offer a suggestion (especially since you haven't received a sample yet)? could you make cases with different art based on the different APs inside them? it would make them much more useful in terms of storage and ease of grabbing the right AP.

Grand Lodge

I'd also request room to store the character playmats and dice and a pen.

Paizo Employee Chief Technical Officer

Ultra PRO is starting with one box. If they sell well, I'm sure they'll consider theming for different APs.

Pathfinder Adventure Path, Lost Omens, Pathfinder Accessories, Rulebook Subscriber; Pathfinder Battles Case Subscriber

if we can make requests, i'd like extra room for pencils/character sheets/EXTRA dice and my miniatures :D

The Exchange

Vic, can you nudge them for a mock up, a photo, or even just some more details on this one? Timetable? I am about to pull the trigger on some broken token inserts if some news doesn't come forth soon, we are a scant month away from needing this case!

Paizo Employee Chief Technical Officer

They're on it, and nothing I can do will make things happen faster. But it's just not going to be out in a month. Sorry!

A mock up photo will be sweet...

@vic
You said they will start with one box, i asssume it will be clear material....
And with "themed" you mean there could be some printout on the clear boxes....

Well, i am speaking for all collectors... Please start with one kind of design and please stay with it. So one clear box and then one themed box will not look good in my shelf...

Please be consistent in your design! Please!

Paizo Employee Chief Technical Officer

Not clear—just not AP-specific in design. It'll be a design that communicates "I'm made for the Pathfinder Adventure Card Game!", but not "I'm made for Skull & Shackles!"

Thanks a lot....

The last time I tried to combine something (the Legacy of Fire Player's Guide) with my subscriber card shipment I was charged an entire extra $5 of shipping. I was told that because the cards are such an unusual size that combining the card shipment with something else doesn't result in reduced shipping.

Which I don't understand, because when I ordered my Harrow deck (which was the same size as an adventure deck) it was combined with a book shipment just fine.

Grand Lodge

any update on the availability?

It is going to be a while, though it isn't all bad news.

Grand Lodge

Hawk -- thanks for the link, but unless it's a bag of holding I would like to put my cards in something anything before getting more cards.

Ultra pro won't be making more cards. I think the implication is that Ultra Pro has thought of another accessory they are going to announce. (Perhaps organized play boxes?)

For Skull and Shackles, I recommend you check out the insert from the Broken Token, since it seems the ultra pro one won't be out until Wrath of the Righteous.

Huh? They don't make cards at all. <Confused>

I meant more cards than what the game consists of. I took Draight's comment to mean he doesn't want the thing they haven't announced to be more cards. But I might be reading his comment wrong.

Paizo Employee Chief Technical Officer

Ah. I think he's saying he wants storage options before he buys more cards from us.

Sovereign Court

I'm thinking deck boxes for OP.

Grand Lodge

Heh I was saying I want another box before I buy more cards -- I guess I'm persuadable though, as I'm thinking about getting a class deck or two in the mean time... I think I may get that organizer, it looks perfect! Bummer on how long it will take Ultra Pro to get that box out though

For sleeved Class Decks as samples, this.

And these for my own class decks.

FFG's Deck Box is what I'm using; the bottom compartment is perfect for dice and you can put your token card in the front display. :)

REMINDER: Ultra Pro Card Box... Any news yet? Some schedule announcement? A 3D picture of the box?

You provided 3D pictures for the january release of the PACG minis, but why not of the ultra pro box?

I believe a lot of PACG fans ask themselves is the box worth waiting or buy a third party insert for the game box !!!
Paizo, please strengthen our believes in a great card collectors box for one entire AP :-)

Maybe Ultra-pro is still working on it ...

I bought This for now. It slides right in the box with more than enough room for all of the sleeved cards. It is a good solution or even temporary solution until the case is released.

I am not willing to spend 26 USD for a temporary solution... Who is willing to?

I want the real adventure case!

I'm the opposite. I have bought 2 (one for each of the base sets). With the high attention to quality and detail that brokentoken has put into these, I will now forego the UltraPro cases when they come out. If they had released the cases in a timely manner (or even produced ANY sort of news/info/images), it would be a different story.

Grand Lodge

I agree, without any sort of news from Ultra Pro, I'm not interested in their solution any longer. The organizer from BrokenToken looks great, and I'll be ordering one soon.

Grand Lodge

It's awesome. I love my BrokenToken organizer and highly recommend it.

ThreeEyedSloth wrote:

Same for me. I bought four to qualify for free shipping. I hope the next two AP's have the same box size! Though I have found my S&S box is a tiny bit larger than the RotR one.

Grand Lodge

I've settled to remove the plastic insert inside of RotRL and insert in all cards from the class decks in there too. Its a mess, but it beats having the cards bend by jamming them in the insert. Still no updates on the Ultra Pro box -- I'm not too keen on getting the wooden insert for the original box as there should be a way to reduce the space required to store all the aps.

Has anyone tried:
Ultra Pro Zippered Gaming Case with Corrugated Insert

Paizo Employee Chief Technical Officer

Ultra•PRO is still working on it. I have approved a basic design for the Adventure Box—and it's very cool—but I haven't seen a physical prototype yet, so nothing to share as far as images or dates just yet.

Grand Lodge

I really can't wait for the adventure case. I completely addicted to this game.

Grand Lodge

Thanks for the update vic. It's nice to know they have at least begun to design the case.

Design idea: the adventure cases should have some sleeve attached where you may insert some nameplate to distinguish the various cases:
So far i plan to buy three cases:
1. rotr
2. ss
3. 7x class decks

Do you plan to release offical card dividers for each adventure path?
Also card dividers for the class decks?

Idea: paizo could treat the card dividers as some promo material... When you buy a case you may choose a package of card dividers... So class deck dividers would also be cool...

The more paizo promotes the adventure cases the more ultra pro deckprotector pacg sleeves will be sold. This is for sure.

(crossreference: "sentinels of the multiverse" also provided card dividers... This was awesome). Just provide the card dividers with "wrath of righteous"...

Is the case is clear plastic no sleeve attached is required as you could slide the nameplate inside the case.... Is it clear plastic?

Paizo Employee Chief Technical Officer

UltraPro has not released any details on the Adventure Case yet.

Bump, my rise of the runelords box ripped yesterday and I'm in dire need of a storage solution. I guess I'm going to finally have to just go out and buy a lame giant cardboard baseball card box

I have the Hobby Lobby Artist case with the Broken Token insert. Not counted the space in it but I have all of S&S up to deck 3 and like 5 other card games in it with space to spare.

Draight wrote:

Grand Lodge

Whoa, can you link where to get these? It is this?
Is the broken token insert the same that is supposed to go in the original box when you throw out the plastic insert?

The Exchange

BT has a generic insert for the HL case designed to work with any game, it is sized differently than the one that fits in the PACG box.

That is the case, and ArtistCaseInsert
is the insert. You do need to take the top thing that folds out of the top of the case for the cards to fit though. Link to Picasa with pictures of my case and some deck boxes I made for my characters PACGPics

That is incredible! I like the label you put on the case too. Very impressive.
