The Great Strength Build

Advice

So, this is the newest version of the GREAT STRENGTH BUILD, which has the goal of gaining the highest possible Strength. While this doesn't necessarily have to be usable, and in fact will probably not be optimal, this build is for the fun of having your DM look at you and raise an eyebrow at your massive ability score.

Now, without further ado, the current build. (This assumes that Dragon Disciple advances Bloodrager Bloodlines).

Aasimar (Angelkin) Crossblooded Abyssal Draconic Bloodrager 16/Ragechemist Alchemist 2/Dragon Disciple 4 (You must also become a Werewolf for the full bonuses)

This ends up giving you the following:

Base 20
+6 Racial (from rolling on the Blood of Angels random table)
+5 Level (from leveling)
+6 Inherent (From either the Abyssal or Orc bloodline, gained from Eldritch Heritage)
+6 Alchemical (From Ragechemist Mutagen)
+6 Enhancement (From Belt of Giant Strength)
+15 Morale (Abyssal Bloodline 20, augmented by a +4 Furious Courageous Weapon)
+2 Profane (from either Demonic Obedience (Angazhan) or a Succubus Profane Gift)
+10 or +8 (from Form of the Dragon III or II respectively, II being gained from Crossblooded)
+6 Untyped (from Dragon Disciple and Demonic Obedience (Jezelda).

This gives you a fully buffed Strength Score of 80, not assuming any 1 round buffs like Moment of Greatness. With Moment of Greatness, a Blood Resorvoir's secondary function being used, and sacrificing an Enhance Form (Body) wordspell, you can boost this further to reach 101 Strength! (for one round).

So, does anyone have any other ideas to boost this further?

I am assuming you are using the Crossblooded Rager archetype? I know that this is more of a thought experiment but I would like to point out that Ragechemist is never a good choice. This is particularly true when mixing with the Crossblooded Rager. This character would at best be a liability to any party he would be in, at worst be the source of a TPK.

I also question why to go with a Bloodrager anyway as the Bloodrage ability doesn't stack with the bloodline granted morale bonus. It just kinda seems a waste unless I'm missing something?

The Abyssal Bloodline increases the Bloodrage's bonus.

Ragechemist's downside seems to also be too large. As you said it's probably going to end up Dominated or some such. However, wouldn't the Clear Spindle Ioun Stone+Wayfinder combination help negate that possiblity? In addition, buffing my Will save to some degree would help prevent that from occurring, though it is a fair risk.

In addition, the build is currently Level 22...

Fixed up, the build ends up having 2 less for the Morale bonus, as it switches to the following:

Crossblooded Abyssal Draconic Bloodrager 12/Ragechemist Alchemist 2/Dragon Disciple 4/??? 2

This makes the standard buffed strength of 78, with a max of 97.

Mythic rules would let that hit another +10 from tier progression, but it's a campaign-specific sort of thing.

There's also Size bonuses, though Enlarge Person on an aasimar becomes tricky because of the outsider type.

I am already counting a size bonus of +8 (standard) from Form of the Dragon II.

the archetype for hunter that grant the animal companion evolutions could probably get higher on his animal companion.
divine hunter/primal 18 barbarian 2
animal:t-rex
base: 22
AC bonus: +6
evo large: +16
level: +4
heart of the fields: +2
divine hunter: +2
ability increasex4: +8
ferocious mount: +4
amplified rage: +4
form of the dragon 3+10
profane +2
gear +6

total =88

anyone else know how to add to this?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Get a profane bonus from a lilitu or Nocticula instead. A lilitu gives +4, Nocticula gives +6.

okay so we managed to get a total of 94 for more than one round thats great

So this makes the Aasimar version reach the following:

Base 20
+6 Racial (from rolling on the Blood of Angels random table)
+5 Level (from leveling)
+6 Inherent (From either the Abyssal or Orc bloodline, gained from Eldritch Heritage)
+6 Alchemical (From Ragechemist Mutagen)
+6 Enhancement (From Belt of Giant Strength)
+13 Morale (Abyssal Bloodline 20, augmented by a +4 Furious Courageous Weapon)
+6 Profane (From Demon Lord Nocticula's Profane Ascension)
+10 or +8 (from Form of the Dragon III or II respectively, II being gained from Crossblooded)
+6 Untyped (from Dragon Disciple and Demonic Obedience (Jezelda).

This reaches a lovely base total of 84 with these buffs, including Form of the Dragon III.

The most consistent version is using the two Demonic Obedience feats and the Form of the Dragon II. That version does not require any buffs from another player or creature, resulting in a base 74 or 76 with the following:

Base 20
+2 or +4 Racial: +4 is Orc is allowed.
+5 Level (from leveling)
+6 Inherent (From either the Abyssal or Orc bloodline, gained from Eldritch Heritage)
+6 Alchemical (From Ragechemist Mutagen)
+6 Enhancement (From Belt of Giant Strength)
+13 Morale (Abyssal Bloodline 16, augmented by a +4 Furious Courageous Weapon)
+2 Profane (Demonic Obedience (Angazhan))
+8 Size (from Form of the Dragon II Bloodline Power)
+6 Untyped (from Dragon Disciple and Demonic Obedience (Jezelda)

Sczarni

Try Scion of Humanity for the Aasimar, it,s an alternate racial trait. Spend a feat for Racial Heritage: Orc or Half-Orc. Or be a Orc.

Have a friend raging with you:

Or have you friend killed/unconscious/or even yourself in the negative since you count as your own ally:

You could add +6 Strength and Constitution.

With that added in, the bonus increases to even more ridiculous. I will however count that in the first section, as unless you have that ally you won't get that extra +6.

However, with that you end up at the following:

Base 20
+6 Racial (from rolling on the Blood of Angels random table)
+5 Level (from leveling)
+6 Inherent (From either the Abyssal or Orc bloodline, gained from Eldritch Heritage)
+6 Alchemical (From Ragechemist Mutagen)
+6 Enhancement (From Belt of Giant Strength)
+19 Morale (Abyssal Bloodline 16, augmented by a +4 Furious Courageous Weapon, Amplified Rage, and Blood Vengeance)
+6 Profane (From Demon Lord Nocticula's Profane Ascension)
+10 (from Form of the Dragon III)
+6 Untyped (from Dragon Disciple and Demonic Obedience (Jezelda)

This reaches 90 Strength, and if you further augment this with Moment of Greatness, the sacrificed Wordspell, and a Blood Resorvoir, you can proceed to reach the following:

Base 20
+6 Racial (from rolling on the Blood of Angels random table)
+5 Level (from leveling)
+8 Inherent (From Blood Resorvoir)
+6 Alchemical (From Ragechemist Mutagen)
+8 Enhancement (From sacrificed Wordspell)
+38 Morale (Abyssal Bloodline 16, augmented by a +4 Furious Courageous Weapon, Amplified Rage, Blood Vengeance, and Moment of Greatness)
+6 Profane (From Demon Lord Nocticula's Profane Ascension)
+10 Size (from Form of the Dragon III)
+6 Untyped (from Dragon Disciple and Demonic Obedience (Jezelda).

reaching a final total of 113 Strength!

How is your build getting form of the dragon III? Bloodrager doesnt get access to it, only I through arcane bloodline and II through draconic. Second, Dragon Disciple as of now doesn't advance Bloodrager(draconic) bloodlines, since it references sorcerer and there is not currently an exception, and the ACG states that Parent and Hybrid class features do not stack.

I'm going with my current feeling that it should stack, though I will admit that it is currently doesn't work by RAW. If we do go for pure RAW, then it lowers the build by another +2 base morale, though Bloodrage still remains the highest via the Half-Orc feats. That ends up reducing the total bonus to 88 Strength without one round buffs, and 109 Strength with one round buffs.

Form of the Dragon III is accessed via Use Magic Device on a scroll, though it is definitely one of the limited options.

Theoretically you could boost further utilizing an Mutagen borrowed from a Ragechemist, and that would give you access to the level 16 again.

So with a few edits, the highest amount reached can go even higher.

Crossblooded Rager Abyssal Draconic Bloodrage 16/Dragon Disciple 4

Base 20
+6 Racial (From Blood of Angels table)
+5 Level
+6 Inherent (Improved Eldritch Heritage: Orc/Abyssal)
+10 Alchemical (Infused Mutagen from a Ragechemist 16 with Greater and Grand Mutagen Discoveries)
+6 Enhancement (Belt of Giant Strength)
+21 Morale (Abyssal Bloodline 16, augmented by +4 Furious Courageous Weapon, Amplified Rage, Blood Vengeance)
+6 Profane (From Demon Lord Nocticula's Profane Ascension)
+10 Size (From Form of the Dragon III)
+6 Untyped (Dragon Disciple and Demonic Obedience (Jezelda))

Leaving us with a multi-round base of 96 Strength, with need of one Alchemist ally to provide the Mutagen, and the favour of Nocticula.

For the one round setup, you are able to reach even higher:

Base 20
+6 Racial (From Blood of Angels table)
+5 Level
+8 Inherent (Blood Resorvoir discharge)
+10 Alchemical (Infused Mutagen from a Ragechemist 16 with Greater and Grand Mutagen Discoveries)
+8 Enhancement (Sacrificing Enhance Form (Body) Wordspell)
+42 Morale (Abyssal Bloodline 16, augmented by +4 Furious Courageous Weapon, Amplified Rage, Blood Vengeance, and Moment of Greatness)
+6 Profane (From Demon Lord Nocticula's Profane Ascension)
+10 Size (From Form of the Dragon III)
+6 Untyped (Dragon Disciple and Demonic Obedience (Jezelda))

a massive score of 121 Strength!

---

Limitation of this version is that you require an ally to prepare the Mutagen for you. It's possible to lower this in order to provide your ally with more effective choices (removing Ragechemist only lowers your Strength by 2, and allows your ally to be a standard Alchemist rather than risking the downside). In addition, this is limited in that you have to get your ally to provide it. You cannot really lower your Bloodrager levels otherwise you lose out on the Form of the Dragon II standard buff, though I feel dropping Dragon Disciple would end up being the best choice if you are forced to make the choice. Even just lowering it to a 2 level dip will give you a net +4 in Strength, despite it being temporary.

The standard variation for me with this edit ends up looking like this:
Crossblooded Rager Abyssal Draconic Bloodrager 16/Ragechemist Alchemist 2/Dragon Disciple 2

Base 20
+2 or +4 Racial: +4 is Orc is allowed.
+5 Level (from leveling)
+6 Inherent (From either the Abyssal or Orc bloodline, gained from Eldritch Heritage)
+6 Alchemical (From Ragechemist Mutagen)
+6 Enhancement (From Belt of Giant Strength)
+13 Morale (Abyssal Bloodline 16, augmented by a +4 Furious Courageous Weapon)
+2/4 Profane (Demonic Obedience (Angazhan) or Succubus/Lilitu Profane boons)
+8 Size (from Form of the Dragon II Bloodline Power)
+4 Untyped (from Dragon Disciple and Demonic Obedience (Jezelda)

74 Strength

This reaches a few issues. Jezelda's obedience requires you to be infected as a werewolf beforehand in order to reap the bonus, and you cannot stack Demonic Obedience. It is possible to instead go with the Succubus or Lilitu Profane Gift, though that is significantly more risky as it can be withdrawn with significant penalties. Ragechemist holds the risk of knocking yourself unconscious or turning yourself into a pawn for the enemy.

Overall, I feel this build could work, though it would have a bit of trouble and only blossoms in the lategame.
