New to the Alpha and sad that there will be no adventure time this week? Me too.
Feel free to enjoy a far less organized adventure time Friday evening with some of the members of the Free Highlanders. We won't have fancy weapons to give out, and nobody will be in god mode, and won't have any Alpha invitations to share, and won't have an attractive woman to play host. But other than that it will be exactly the same. (I.e., a bunch of inexperienced noobs scrambling around trying not to kill each other by accident.)

We're going to mention this thread in the Alpha Update this week.Thanks, Ryan. In return, we'll try not to embarrass* the Darksiders if they show up.
* I don't imagine this will be hard to manage.
I'll see if some of us can pick up the Darksider role this week. Now that I have an idea how long it takes to recover Rep to -2400, we can actually run it early on Thursday and recover by Saturday night

Since we won't have dev access for our planning, it would be great if anyone feels like doing some scouting before the event tonight, to give us a feel for an interesting escalation to tackle, recognizing that we'll be a mix of noobs with no gear and experienced people with Bonny gifts.
We could also use a spy in the Darksiders (if they gather), to pass intel, but that may be hoping for too much.

LOL you guys crack me up! I am so happy that you are going to be running this anyways! I will be on around 3 to possibly hand out some gear to the noobz who havent gotten anything (granted I dont break all the hex's with trading again). Ill have to log out around 5 so make sure you are on and ready to get some goodies. I hope you all have a great time without me tonight!

Indeed. Was some good fights..I (Kraughter) got some of your squishy casters/archers down though :D.
I gotta stop trying to turn with my mouse. The camera speed is much faster then character turn rate. For people who are used to turning/moving with their mouse, this is a disadvantage (pretty sure most avid PvP'ers do this as it results is faster reactions). A couple times I spun the camera to 180 ,used to character moving just as fast, and ended up making my character spin around randomly and losing my bearings until I was able to find my target again.
All in all for my first time pvp'ing, it was fun

It was entertaining. Falling through the ground for a few minutes threw me off. Cheatle can attest, it is not hard to kill me and I need to get better at running. Thanks for the fun tonight!
As far as the strip mining, I had similar results. Only 5 or so dowser, 8 mining, 7 (?) forestry. I returned to town to raise mining to 8 but I came across very few mining nodes.
It looks like escalations are spreading fast. Not sure what the intended rate is but they had already spread out of the lion hex within 4 hours of the server going up. If these rates keep up, PvE fans are going to have plenty of targets.

Thanks for posting the countdown clock again, now I know how much time I have to take care of all my "real life" stuff before I can get back to something more "Meaningful than life" stuff. I am sure someone will find and post the link where Ryan explains what that means....
OH, and I sent that link to everyone in my company, hopefully more will make it in the next round of Alpha Invites. I am currently at 2/8 players in Alpha! :)

I did think it was odd that you were attacking me, but I think I stopped after 1 kill, iirc.

Yes, that's what I was doing. I wondered what PAX was, so I looked it up. I found a page on the PAX site with the title "What is PAX?", so I borrowed the title and linked to that page. My intent was to show anyone else who was confused what it was, not to actually ask what it was.
Edit: Maybe my link text should have been "What PAX is".
