Card Sleeves and Character Cards

Pathfinder Adventure Card Game General Discussion

Howdy All,

I thought I would share some info on how I have set up my cards for PACG for those that sleeve thier cards. I expect this may be useful for folks who are going to do OP guild gaming.

I sleeve all of my cards for normal use. However, I have not been using the actual character/role cards at all. I have been printing out the character sheets and laminating them then marking that sheet up with a sharpy. That worked fine for home games but could be too big for event use. (I use the iconic figures rather then the token card.)

So here is what I have used for the last couple of weeks and it works great.

I use the normal Ultra Pro sleeves that are clear for the character, token, and role cards. This sleeve is something I write on with a black sharpy for skills, powers, etc. I then insert that card and sleeve into this rigid sleeve for game use. This makes the card very durable and avoids wearing off the markings on the inner sleeve. Everyone in my game group is now using it.

The rigid sleeves are too large to fit into the Paizo box slots, but I just rubber band them together and put them into the slot for the add on deck boxes. (along with other stuff like dice, pencil, sharpy, spare sleeves, etc)

If you have other ways to protect you character cards while still tracking character advancement please feel free to post that below as well so everyone has lots of options to give a try.

(Also Paizo folks... I love that Utra Pro is coming out with a box to hold the game sleeved so kudos for that. If possible you may want to add some of those rigid sleeves to your site and see how they go? I know I would buy a few as I have seven class decks coming as well as S&S so will need to have a couple of more boxes for the 61 new character, role, and token cards.)

I use the Ultra-Pro Pro-Fit inner sleeves and the UP Clear Deck Protectors. But I do the same thing. Sharpie on the pro fits and put them in the clear sleeves.

This sounds awesome, but I'm not finding the announcement. Is there a link?

Thanks!

Here, look for "To be released in 2014" then "Adventure Case"

This link was the first post in the thread entitled Ultra PRO Announces Accessories for the Pathfinder Adventure Card Game just 20 threads down from this one.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

As an aside, I think the Ultra Pro Satin Towers are going to be perfect deck boxes for PFACG OP, I use them for my LOTR LCG decks, and they are designed for legion style magic play, so will hold just over 100 sleeved cards... should be perfect for the class decks. On top of fitting right, they have room in the base for a set of dice, maybe 2 sets without the d20's (need to test the fit). Not available from Paizo, but check them out at a game shop near you. Keep your cards together, protected, and in style for around 12 bucks.

As soon as the class decks are available I will sleeve up a set and report back.

I would go nuts for PF class deck stickers to slap on the outside of my deck boxes... maybe a kinkos/sticker paper/community use package sort of project for the future, or a Paizo made $.99 pdf template I could download and print out?

Paizo has a community use set of pictures that you can download for free. HERE is the one that has the Adventure Card Game Logo... and HERE is the full list of choices. You could make several sticker type things at Kinko's with these for your own use... but not for sell.

I don't like having the extra sheet of paper at the table so I have sleeved the role cards and used a soft tip sharpie to mark on the plastics to:

1- Write the players name on it
2- Check their bonus's

I need to make/print off the adventure list check sheet on card stock a few times and do the same thing for them, but for now we just keep track on the paper sheets and leave them in the box with the cards they each have

We're working with Ultra Pro on something even better than that for PFSACG decks. Hopefully, we'll have them out around Christmas....

You had me at "We're"

I was never going to write on the cards. I considered writing on sleeves, but was a bit worried about it smudging / transferring onto the card next to it etc.

In the end, particularly for the second half of the cycle, I ended up using paint to put together a combined skills/powers card for the character once they have a role. It's bigger than a character card, but probably not quite as big as two cards - it'd be nice if something like that could be added to that character downloads/sheets - save me spending time cutting and pasting for each character.
