Help with a jedi concept character build.

Advice

Silver Crusade

Hi all

talking about a fighter/wizard concept i found some posts that talk about kensai/bladebound as a jedi concept, and i remember the sword saint archetype.

Do you know that they are compatible to create a character for PFS that allows more than one archetype?

Can you post me some builds?

I know that many say that a jedi need some levels in paladin class, how you mix all and create a jedi guardian build?

Thanks for all!! I know that you are great!!

Tif you are looking to combine everything you stated, PFS is not something I'd be trying to play that class in.

At a minimum, you need 2lvls of paladin, 6lvls of magus(blade bound and kensai included), and at least 1 level (although 2 would be better) in monk. That's a total of 10th level just to make it work.

Then you have the issue that if you are going to use blade bound, the blade of the sword saint cannot be used unless you possessed it before you reached 3rd level in magus and converted it into a black blade. Given that it isn't exactly a cheap weapon, I don't think that's gonna happen.

Having built a "Jedi" myself using the kensai/monk idea, I'll tell you that yes it is fun, but he was also level 36 at games end, and it was and epic level campaign in home setting. The idea just doesn't fit pfs.

Mmm ok thx for your comment. But we can do a list of powers and needed levels of classes. And we need remember that there are many jedis and not all are the same powers or their power are the same, some are more powerful than oders.

A level 2 paladin has detect evil, lay on hands, smite evil, aura of good and divine grace. We don't need smite evil, aura of good nor divine grace. We can take irorian paladin archetype, then he has monk habilities. Or we can looking for how to reproduce detect evil/live and lay on hand features. Maybe a celestial sorcerer or bard can or with wands.

6 levels of magus, at least 3 for bladebound, 5 for energy attunement for the blade, but this can be changed for a +1 energy enchantment (frozen, flaming, acidic, lightning, etc).

The build only need one level in sword saint for the iajutsu, really is only for flavour this can be ignored.

Then finaly only one level of irorian paladin or nothing, the importance are the magus levels, and found th alternatives for jedi powers and abilities.

Thx for your help, I need the help of all of you for this build!!

Here is my take on a Jedi like character.

Fruian's Jedi Cleric:

Human Evangelist Cleric (Aasimar can work as well)

20 point Buy:
Str 10, Dex 14, Con 13 Int 10, Wis 18, Cha 12
(if you don't mind "dump" stat then drop Str to 8 and up Int to 12.)

Traits: Fate's Favored and Charming (Take note of Evangelist's spontaneous spells...most trigger Charming)

Alignment: NG

Deity: Cayden Cailean
Domain: Travel (Teleporting and 50ft movement Level 1 while ignoring difficult terrain)

Optional: Variant Channeling- Bravery (I don't care much for my channel ability or any kind of "battle Healing" I'm not that kind of cleric....Bring your own wand and I will heal you with it.)

Feats:
Human- Lingering Performance
1- Spell Focus- Enchantment
3- Improved Initiative
5- Greater Spell Focus- Enchantment
7- Persistent Spell
9- Spell Penetration
11- Divine Interference

Skills:
Perform Oratory - (1 skill point is all you need)
Diplomacy (Social Skill of the Gods) (Jedi were mediators)

Know Religion (can alternate between religion, planes, arcane)
Spellcraft (can be alternated for more Knowledge)

Gear of Note- Rod of Toppling spell (Blade barrier + Toppling= fight owned) (can use with Forceful push, Spiritual weapon/ally, and Chains of perdition)
Lesser rod of extend spell
Luck stone-(I really like this Item w/ fate's Favor)

Notice most your spontaneously cast spells are enchantments. Language dependent but you can spontaneously cast Tongues so no biggy there. These are your Jedi Mind Tricks. =)

If your ever forced into combat I recommend never drawing your weapon...Hell I don't waste money on a weapon just take a cheap drop if they come. You will cast the spell Divine Trident . It is a lightning Blade that attacks on Touch attack for decent Damage. This is your "Light Saber" lol. Lasts 1 minute /level.

Just play as a mediator first but when you are forced to fight you do so like a Jedi using force powers, mind tricks, and light-saber play.

Very nice spell i don't know it.

There is an interesting build. But i am looking magus build now.

Thx for your advice is really jedi flavour!!

Grand Lodge

Your welcome.

I feel the Magus lacks the "Mind Trick" and Diplomacy that a Jedi typically uses.

A Magus feels more like a Sith.
Lightning attacks, Telekenisis (though in PFS you don't see it), Good magical sword, using the force for attack. I have a Magus build in my list of builds I've made over the years. He is a dervish dancer/shocking grasp Elf. Pretty main stream for doing the job of a Hammer.

urban ranger.
Q-stuff for 2 weapon fighting.
can work with a monk as well.

If it's not Paizo only, then a Soulknife with the Gifted Blade archetype gets a glowing weapon(lightsaber) and mind powers(the Force).
