I think the politically correct term is special individual now unless you were trying to RP then you get a pass :P

Step by step, we move up the ladder.

Goblin Squad Member

Talonguard just hit a 100. Time for us to bring in the rest of the folks and blow them away.

Goblin Squad Member

:(

We wont have those numbers till OE... or sunday.

You never can tell with our people.

Goblin Squad Member

In our hearts, Kabal already has as many people as all the other settlements put together.

I'm pretty sure that's a good thing...in a midly-nervous-shuffling-around-with-wide-eyes kind of way

Goblin Squad Member

heheheh!

Why do I have that announcer guy from the Monster Truck shows yelling in my head, "SUNDAY! SUNDAY!! SUNDAY!!!"

Goblin Squad Member

Having only recently become active on these forums, I have to admit a certain amount of ignorance. If I look at the land rush map, I see locations already claimed, including one claimed by Kabal. So what exactly happens when the land rush is over that hasn't already?

Goblin Squad Member

Every Sunday at midnight the total memberships are captured and then all the spots get reassigned according to the first choice ofwho has the most members.

There's some historical info on the third tab of this spreadsheet that shows how groups have moved in the last nine weeks

Edit: tab one has current totals and some info about the various groups

Goblin Squad Member

So whatever hex we choose this Sunday, our final choice, we get unless a larger group wants the same hex, then we are forced to go to our second choice or third if someone bigger wants our second choice.

So no one's hex is "Theirs" until after this Sunday, regardless what they may think.

I secretly licked the hex we really want already, so no one else is going to want it anyway.

Goblin Squad Member

Thanks for the explanation! So this Sunday is unique in that all choices become final? Or are there more rounds yet to occur?

Goblin Squad Member

This is it. Final, Kaput. End. Finito

Unless they come up with something else.

Goblin Squad Member

Yep, last move ever. We will get the announcement on Monday. It usually pops up on the board in the middle of the afternoon [Eastern] to late in the afternoon.

That's when we find our who our real neighbors are. Who we can start talking to about non-aggression pacts, trade agreements and possible alliances.

Then we get ready for the Tower Wars which will probably start late September/Early October though there is a rumor it might start a week or two after the Land Rush. Don't really believe it myself but it is a nice rumor to think about.

So if you have anybody you know who might want to get in on this, now is the time to collar them and bring them over to Kabal to help make sure we get the settlement hex we really really want.

Then help out in the Tower Wars. Here's the blog about the Tower Wars: https://goblinworks.com/blog/war-of-towers/

Here's the older blog on the Land Rush: https://goblinworks.com/blog/and-update-on-the-land-rush/

It's all Illusion! Or is it!

*pops smoke pellets and vanishes and you hear a door squeak open and light come forth*

Goblin Squad Member

58 and climbing! We are just a pack of wanderin' gypsies making our home where we will. :-)

Woohoo! Just slid into 8th on the Land Rush Leaderboard =)

Goblin Squad Member

Aragon tries but we stay ahead of them in these final hours.

If you're looking for a cool home, join Kabal.

Now to go back to watching Captain America, the First Avenger.

Avengers Assemble!

Goblin Squad Member

Puny God!

Just finished watching Captain America, the First Avenger on DVD last night and finally noticed the little Easter Egg they planted in their World of Tomorrow scene, where Anthony Stark was showing off his potentially flying car. Just before they showed that, there was a nice pan of the crowds and exhibits, including Prof. Phineas Horton's Synthetic Man aka the Human Torch. The scene moved so fast in the movie theater that I totally missed that.

Oh! And join Kabal! You know you want to!

Goblin Squad Member

Great job climbing Kabal! Keep it up.

Goblin Squad Member

Thanks! We are trying to reach 100 settlers but will see if that is possible before the land rush ends.

Good Luck with Paladin Land. Some of our members will need you for training. :-)

Still early yet, but I noticed some of the lower member count guilds are starting to make their plays in moving up the leaderboard. It's actually more fun to watch than the Top 10 list :P

That being said Emerald Lodge is just 2 members shy from moving into the top 10.

Goblin Squad Member

Check your emails and PMs, oh leaders of various settlements and companies, for Kabal might be wanting to talk to you. Or not.

Goblin Squad Member

Join. Join. Join. You know you want to join Kabal. Don't wait! Only a few hours left for your vote for Kabal to count.

We give candy in the back of our merchant carts!

Goblin Squad Member

Good show, solid rise. You folks ever figure out what you are calling your settlement?

They will make us all wait until the official announcement, that is their shtick.

As for Aragon, our settlement is either in "X" where it has been for 10 weeks or it is in "V", bumping the Emerald Lodge out.

In that case, let's name it now. Didn't someone say something about murderhobos?

I'm betting on "X"

I think there's virtually no chance that Kabal was really interested in "X" other than as a way to raise rabble.

Goblin Squad Member

Rabble is not all we raise.

We had no interest in X, actually the only hex we were considering that we could not get was E.

Which Elkhaven pushed out of our grasp... for now! (dun, dun, dunnnnn!)

::strain:: can I... Put this.. Rabble down now... That the LR... Is over...? ::wobble::

Well, true. But you can't raise goats by pretending you want "X"

I don't think anyone thought they seriously wanted X. Yes, they had it in their power to take it, but could they have held it?

Goblin Squad Member

Yes.

But would it have been worth it.. I'm sure you would have made sure it was not.

I think if they actually wanted it, it would be because they thought they could hold it.

Yeah, that would have been fun, probably for the both of us in the short term. But, in the long term, yeah... you probably made a smarter choice. Your fun would have ended after a few weeks, I'm assuming.

Goblin Squad Member

Underestimating groups is a dangerous practice. Its much better to assume potential neighbors are competent and organized.

Scarab Sages

It will entertain only if both Settlements were eagerly PvP focused. Which I don't know if ti was the case.

Indeed it is Charlie.

Especially in the case that they are.

2 people marked this as a favorite.

I only play competent and organized on tv.

I don't see where anyone has underestimated the other??

In my opinion, this assumption is underestimating a group.

Well it was somewhat of an inferred assumption based on:

Sunnfire wrote:
" I'm sure you would have made sure it was not."

I was inferring from this Sunnfire's suggestion that they might not have enjoyed it as much or for as long as we might have.

My assumption was not meant to underestimate Sunnfire's or Kabal's abilities, but to agree with his assessment, while still being gracious by identifying it as an assumption on my part.

Goblin Squad Member

Don't make me stop this car!

They misunderestimated us.

Goblin Squad Member

Of course, if you guys had ticked off Sunnfire enough, we would have taken X just to spite you. Or I should say, he would have, since we wouldn't be able to stop him.

I guess I was the only one who wanted X in our top five choices but I was outvoted. :-)

Everyone misunderestimates us! That's how we will succeed to create the greatest nation in the River Kingdom.

And as to the name of our settlement. We are working on it. Except Pexx keeps adding HUNDREDS of new names every few days. It will be sometime next year, the way things are going before we name our settlement.

We are currently doing round two of naming our settlement.

First round winners are: Greenbriar Hill, Dragonspire, Blackwatch Keep and Kingsmount

Current Leaders in Round Two are: Wakefield, Longdale, Falcon Haven, Strathmore, Blackburn, Shadowfen and Fort Sassy Pants.
That poll will be open for 3 more days then we go to Round 3 selection of names. Rounds will continue until we have 25 names.

Once we have 25 names [max number allowed in a poll], we will start whittling down from there.

Since polls are 5 days in length, I'm thinking late September before we start the whittling down process. By Halloween, we should have our name.

SO if you want the joy of helping name our settlement, come on over and join Kabal. :-)
