But the race became legal... Where crafting has notActually, the race was illegal up until the start of Season 3 or 4. It's only going back to the original Season 0-2/3 rules with the restriction to require a boon.
I should know, I had an aasimar boon before it was opened up for everyone.
I assume—by you justifying your intended form of cheating as distinctly different from and somehow more reasonable than this other form of cheating—that you would find it upsetting to learn that someone was faking chronicles to have more gold than you.

Just to be clear, the crime in question is illegal downloads, "the only reason we bought the books was for society play.. for a homegame were perfectly fine downloading a copy or looking up the information online." Your grammar is atrocious, but the words still say the same thing. You have in the past downloaded books you did not pay for and intend to do so again. Just, Wow.
For the record, I guarantee Paizo employees are reading this thread, and your comments, as well as the comments of others, are being discussed. I just don't think the conversation is going the way you think it is, or the way you would want it to, at all.
Learn the law. Paizo stole nothing. You are engaged in stealing and foolish enough to brag about it online.

I for one welcome the change. Once the two races came out, they were obviously above the others, and should only be available by a boon. The 'blood of' books pushed them to absurd status, and further pushed me away from organized play. Now it is a matter of putting the genie back in the bottle, and those that want to win pathfinder are going to howl, but change is not always pretty.
That said, I do have a tiefling and an aasimar, and my son just played his first game ever with an aasimar. I figured in the future he can have one when he can, and should, appreciate it.

I am excited about the new races being available as legal races and so what is someone does 5 1 xp. A/T's good for them. Several of the people i play with were upset since the powers that be took away race boons for playing at con's now they get 3 new races to have fun with.
I only barely dabble in PFS (time/lifestyle not conducive to organized gaming) and I have a hard time finding even non PFS games to play in more than once in a blue moon. Most of my gaming happens on the Paizo boards.
All that said, even I notice the effect of A/T being available options alongside the "Blood of ..." supplements. They make up far too many if the characters i run across in games and recruitment for my taste. I like Tieflings, and I like the idea of Aasimars. I even have an old Tiefling character I've dusted off as recently as a year or so ago for a game. But them being everywhere and one of the strongest mechanical choices for nearly every class/concept just bugs me.
I want them to be rare because I've always had the impression that they are rare in Golarion. Finding myself consistently at the virtual table with one ... just kind of makes me roll my eyes a bit.
Now, I realize that response is as much about me as it is about the players consistently choosing those races and exercising the very flexible/powerful character options those races offers. And I can even convince myself that some (maybe even more than half) of those players are doing it for story and cool over mechanical options. It still annoys me.
I guess my point is that —even some of us who aren't the primary folks affected by this change to PFS will have their games impacted by the precedent Paizo is setting here ... and I think it's for the betterment of the game at large.

I read that and was considering posting to let him know that Paizo staff definitely read the comments here, even though they rarely respond. But he just doesn't seem like someone who's worth bothering to respond to.

you took some of the easiest chr to make out of the game.. an replaced it with something much harder for new people... removing an element of the game as well.. starting i know personally i weighted my options an found as a new player the aasimars were the easiest to start with even without the blood of angels books... it gives a good base to start with the chr..
Baxcel, could you elaborate on what you mean when you say that Aasimar are the easiest option? Do you mean in terms of stat arrays? Because Humans with the Versatile Human alternate racial trait can get a +2 to two ability scores of their choice--even more flexible than the various Aasimar stat arrays.

From his comments I can only think he means "easy mode". Most powerful/customizable race.
I have always thought Humans as the most easy race to build a character with. They're the one race most of us can most easily identify with. You can gain any feat you qualify for as a bonus. There's a possibility over 12 levels to get +4 on 12 different skills (if you use your bonus point to add your first rank in 12 class skills). You also get to chose where to put a +2 stat instead of being constrained to your stat bonuses. Plus they get some of the best favored class bonuses as well.

Or just humans to begin with. +2 to any stat and a bonus feat, plus an additional skill point every level. Whenever we get new people we direct them towards core races. They were sort of built to be the simplest. Especially humans.

Agreed. There's a reason my first few PCs were human, before the Advanced Race Guide was even published. That bonus feat is huge, along with the extra skill ranks, and customizable bonus stat.
